How to check the park assist sensors to see if they are bad.

A quick video to show you how to check the park assist sensors on a GM Silverado / Sierra to see if the sensors are working or if they are bad. I use a sound meter or db meter on my phone to check and see if they are emitting the ultrasonic sound they should be.

I was able to turn ignition to on but not engine on, put my silverado in reverse w back wheels chalked and use cell phone recorder which actually showed visual sound waves to find the bad one. Worth trying over starting engine.

What place did you use for after market replacement? Also mine now says back park assist symbols not available. What ideas do you have to fix that? Thank you

I think if you have more than 1 out you will get that message. I got mine form here. Also google PIT5398A depending on your year this might be the solution.

easier to hold cellphone to each sensor and record. then play back video and listen for sensor that is silent

@plmason12 your phone mic will pick up sound. yes for front you will need to put in drive. good luck with your project. Amazon had sensor 4 for like 20$ if I remember correctly
