- In this video I show a few different ways that PEX crimp rings can be removed. If you have a bad crimp or need to reuse, remove existing PEX plumbing, taking the apart the PEX fittings is a real pain. This makes it much easier.

Very nicely done. Thanks. I was using a utility knife to cut the pex off, but kept scratching the fittings and was afraid they'd leak. This is a much neater method. Appreciate the post.
Well done! I am going to try your methods and I'm sure they will work. Many thanks!
Thanks Andrew! I’m laying in the crawlspace doing a new installation and I made a bad crimp! Solved!
A Dremel and a cutoff wheel and a steady hand and the ring is off in about 30 seconds. Works for me.
Superb! Thanks.
Wondering if the otherside of the joint is affected by the close heat transfer?
Best buy the cutting tool and works great. 19 dollars, then use a torch. This will work for one or two fittings but more worth the cost of the tool and for sure if fixing an in place fitting with other crimps on it like a tee.
Why were the crimps bad? Were they leaking? Nice job on the video. Thanks.
I use blow torch to melt pex then use plyers to pull off the pex and crimp ring together. Fitting might need a bit of clean up
I have all that except my fitting is a plastic valve. Tell me how to remove the metal band if the tube is over a plastic valve fitting.
a plastic valve is cheap just toss it. some removal tools work on plastic though.
How do you remove it without cutting the pex off. I don't have the extra line to work with
Can you reuse the pex after blow torching them?
you said bad crimp is that mean to close to the edge or something else thx
No torch or heat.....score with razor and twist
And in tight spaces the pex tools are almost useless. Like in a camper.
go to home depot and get pex ring removal tool, it is much much easier
6:52 He mentions that. And, yes, it is easier, but if it takes a half hour to go to the store, this is faster. Plus, if you don't normally do plumbing (not me, of course), you may only remove one PEX ring in your lifetime. It then doesn't make sense to buy a special tool. Finally, maybe $20 t.ly/Aq90G is money you don't have. Maybe you need coffee or some other drug that takes priority.
If
Terrible advice, go buy the remover tool !
All these videos are pointless. They all demonstrate with parts on a bench. How do you repair a leak that is in place that you can barely reach!! Show me that please
