Well, 350$ wouldn’t be too much for a shell wallet if it is made out of best quality shell, which this one is not. You can see little spots in the leather and the stitching isn’t quite there as well. However, you payed a great price.
I just got one from ashton leather that has that on the front piece too, almost like it wasn't finished completely and oddly enough it's reverse side is black instead of the usual green from horween and would have preferred the piece be left raw black. I wouldn't say the bumps are necessarily reject level and it will probably polish out but they should have done that at the store, or sent him one that didn't need to be polished. The one I got wasn't even as bad as the one this guy has but I complained about it when it arrived (was also a tiny scratch that polished out) so they gave me a 20% discount and I could have even returned it so I think it's ridiculous that he would have to pay full price because it is not the norm. Some people actually like the rugged look so they have no reason not to take more time for separating pieces like that, not just the crafters but the tanneries too...
I’ve owned this wallet and wouldn’t recommend it. It will start fraying after several months. Allen Edmonds is hit or miss with quality these days. I recommend Ashland Leather for wallets. The guys that make the wallets actually work in the Horween Tannery where most Shell Cordovan in the world comes from. They have all the rare colors, cheaper prices, excellent customer service, and guarantee everything forever. If anything goes wrong, Phil will make it right.

350 for one of those is good one chip of that leather costs 200 bucks and probably only able to make 1 wallet from that piece
For the money there's significantly nicer wallets. Its like they used a nice piece of leather and threw it together to get it out the door.
