I'm waiting until then to get a new one. My 2014 4 cyl passenger van id doing well at 58k miles... I've had four Sprinters since 2001 and just love these vehicles..
Marcel Daignault that sound about right it was a great engine but I herd tha Mercedes Sprinter is moving more towards electric.
I not to happy about that but what can we do.
The 2.1 is good for 239bhp with a remap..
i tow a 5000 lb boat so the 3.0L works better for my load
What's the mpg for the 2017 3.0 sprinter?
Alex Rouli terrible it does 19 mpg and under my old 2014 2.1 liter did 21 to 25 mpg
Any reason you know for the change? instead of maybe giving the 2.1 option as well. Most want for a nice camper.
JoeCnNd I need the V6 for more towing capacity I know the mpg is worse on the B6 but that's why upgraded to a V6 more towing capacity
Alex Rouli is bad it's under 19 MPG the 2.1 L I was doing between 20 to 25 and the V6 I'm doing 19 to 15
Mercedes Sprinter DIY Is the 25mpg highway and the 21mpg city?
5 speed with v6 is more reliable than 7 speed with 2.1 l inline 4.
i thing you are right and more torque for towing on the3.0l
I love my 4cyl... 160k trouble free miles so far
Emma O thats a great millage my problem is I tow a boat that weights 3500 pounds thats why is better 3.0 for my towing but I do miss my 2.1 L Gas savings it was great
EDIS Osmanovic what kind of fuel mileage do you get with your 4 cylinder if it's fully loaded with tools I have a long and Tall van the five cylinder and I get between 21 and 25 miles per gallon depending on how I drive
EDIS Osmanovic do you clean the DPF like this guy does with that spray?
Don't buy a Sprinter. Expect lots of NOX sensor and speed sensor problems. Had a 2106, took on three long road trips, broke down on all three.
It looks like you had a bat Sprinter because I had three sprinters and didn't have major problems with a dismal detailed
So far I owned a number of Sprinters (I actually used them for work not just flipped them!): 2005 ,2007, 2010, 2013 and now I'm having a 2015 2.1 liter strait 4, but the only one with the nox sensor and blue tech problems it was the 2010 one, and I had to change a speed sensor on the 2006 one at almost 300K, otherwise they have been serving me very well. Of course, you can get a lemon with the Sprinters too, but generally if you know how to take care of them they will reward you.
So this is what Sprinter without a single rust spot looks like ??? Amazing....
marko kravcar I know what you talking about I had an old Sprinter 2006 and the rust was coming up almost everywhere back in the day corrosion was very common in Old Sprinter but the new Spinners they have fix that they're making better Metals and they use wax to spray over the metal that way it protects it more it has a 10 year warranty now
Since what year my models they’re making better metal? I need to know cause ill be buying used one very soon. Thanks
Dewaltpro picture since the this newer models you can see them on the road is the old model boxer vans like a 2003 2004 2006 around those models after those models change to a newer shape like the ones I have they made better metals and they added 20 gallons of wax that they spray all over the under and the inner walls to prevent rust that's why they have a longer warranty
Thank you. Thats the only thing i was always concerned. I see Sprinters everyday and all i see is rust everywhere
Dewaltpro picture that was one of my biggest concern too, I had an older Sprinter it was 8 years old it was a 2006 and rust was coming up all over the windshield and it was bothering me a lot so I sold it this new ones they're a lot better.
Take care if I can help in any other way just ask
I've got the 2.1 (2014) model with only 9.000 miles on the clock. I don't think there is enough engine torque. I am between remapping the engine as it has below 100 horses and losing the remaining dealer warranty, or to just leave with it. Fuel consumption is great but slow. I will probably look for a engine swap in a very far future to V6.
why did you get another Sprinter?
v6 is better for towing and hauling heavy equipment .
now i was told that there will not be new 2017 sprinters with the 2.1 L
so you will only have one choice for the future.
now i get on my 2.1 L 22 to25 mpg but the V6 i get 18 to 20 MPG
Much faster thou. How many horse power do you have on your 2.1 L? I've got bellow 100 horses.
I've just opened a FB account and soon will be adding some content. stealthsprinter@yahoo.com in case you want to keep in touch.
i think is like 160 hp and the v6 is 188 hp something like that but yes i have a boat and i feel the extra power with the v6 i like it better than the 2.1 L
thanks i really appreciate it
I'm looking at a 2015 2.1 Sprinter with almost 200k on it for around 18.5k...worth it?
it depends on the conditions of engine and body because is a little high on price ,
@@mercedessprinterdiy8556 what do you think it is worth? Supposedly the motor is good to go and it is Bare Bones on the inside for the most part. There is a couple of little dings in the rear doors.
@@ArcolaBridge not sure buddy without seeing it but the best is to compare that van with other vast you have seen for sale in your area and compared to see if that's a good price
@@mercedessprinterdiy8556 I got him down to $15,000 end of the negotiation I still did not feel like buying it because it has cosmetic damages. It ran and drove like a champ though and altogether there wasn't that much damage. I just want one that has a finished rear compartment with Windows.
wow, thanks for making this video and sharing ,
anytime buddy im glad it help you and thank you for watching my channel
I have the v6 I use delivery every day
the v6 its much better
where is the transmission oil add?
sneak a peek im sorry but i have not searched for it yet but wen i do i will post a video
i figured it.. you have to add oil to the same hole as the drain .. very complicated and you need special tool... same as in my vw passat.. they don't want you to have easy service access... keeps everybody having a job.
sneak a peek they do that that way have to take it to the dealer
I currently own a 2016 6 cylinder thinking about getting a second one do you really recommend a 4 cylinder
TheMonarca70 only 319
319 = 3.0 6 cylinders
TheMonarca70 is a V6 but I'm sure is different than the old V6 does Dodge Sprinter had they have done some modifications to them like the def for the emission and some other engine features so it's a little different
2.1 has way better MPG and far more reliable than the V6
@@100pyatt not really my 2.1 with 46k starting leaking antifreeze through the block cap from all that pressure of having to make extra power with 2 turbos
My 2 sprinters have been pretty reliable - not perfect but pretty good. I prefer my 2.1 w the 7 speed over the 3.0 because of the trans. I find the 7 speed trans to be the decider in whats more fun to drive 85% of the time. The 5 speed will hold top gear until the sun burns out making it laggy in cruise in the hills of so cal.
I agree the 7-speed transmission is much better but I don't like the 2.1 is too small of an engine especially for Towing
@@mercedessprinterdiy8556 Im surprised to hear you dont like the 2.1, If towing regularly in an already full van - totally agree. In a van loaded to 5/8 GVWR I really like it. Im super pleased with how my last dog grooming van performs. I make fiberglass interiors for Sprinters that are unlike anything anyone has as well. Check it out

Tel nomer nechchi
This are the best Sprinter.
Michael Reichensperger i agree Michael
3.0 is known as trouble maker.
2.1 is much better engine and more reliable.
I had some issues with the 2.1 is very compact and hard to work on tge imagine tge electric cables are so hard connected to tha engine that is almost imposible to do repairs to it , that was my problem with the 2.1 .
That engine was made for a mercedes sport car so they decided to place it on the Sprinter and to pick up the load they put a 7-speed transmission to make it work and to be fuel efficient
In Europe most sprinters are 2.1 motors. Work hard for many years with minimum problems.
Saba Vovk I wish that was my case my 2.1 liter was not that great and now I have a 3.0 and it's a lot better for my use
I thought the only difference was the smell 👃😂
lol no the both smell🤣
That's in Europe u can buy for 12000 €
loix bring da noise how much is that in US dollars
Mercedes Sprinter DIY don't know not the price isn't correct .. in Europe its also spensive cause ist fucking gud engine 500.000 km whiteout problems
@@brinthair you are talking bullshit. Prices are about the same.

i know the prices are way Hight is terrible

thanks for your comment
The all new 2018 sprinter will have the 2.0 diesel! Hmmmm!
ArcolaBridge we don't know if the 2018 will have a 2.0 diesel but we just have to wait to see but no more 2017 2.1 L diesel engines for now
Mercedes Sprinter DIY i hope we get the 2.0!!! And Swb! And manual!
ArcolaBridge that will be great at smaller engine more fuel economy yeah I wish that would happen to
Mercedes Sprinter DIY , the new 2.0 will replace all 4cyl diesels company wide and in all global markets. They ran out of 2.1 engines.
Kyle Goldston I'm really excited but also terrified. Totally terrified. Aluminum head and aluminum block? Steel Pistons? What!? The great thing about an iron block is that it lasts forever. Worst case scenario it can be machined again. I don't know about this aluminum block stuff. I'm really terrified at purchasing that. Are the sleeves long lasting or replaceable?
