Hi, Leslie. My husband was diagnosed with LBD with Parkinson’s on Valentine’s Day 2015. We are now 5 months in to year 9 on this adventure. I have so much insight after doing this 100% alone and still happy to share life with my remarkable husband. The best advise anyone ever gave me after diagnosis was to “drop the rope”. IF his answer to things might be confused or something you would normally argue with, dont!! Just drop the rope because there is no winning this tug of war.

My husband had molars removed recently and I refused to have him sedated because of the potential setbacks. He had a bad experience after breaking a hip a few years ago when he needed emergency surgery. Huge problems. Took a year to recover. He did fine with just local anesthetic for tooth removal.

I loved this! I want to live where you live. My daughter lives in St. Louis. Leslie, your energy is amazing! U have no idea the light you shine, your authenticity as you navigate this difficult road. I find myself asking the Lord Why this wonderful people? But then I remember that the rain falls on the just and the unjust. Though I will never meet you guys here, I will in heaven whenever the Lord calls us. Prayers for continued strength . I do believe in miracles too. Much ❤ and prayers every single day.

Leslie, thank you for sharing your life and breaking it down for those that follow your posts. My mom was diagnosed with alzheimers and your posts have really helped me understand this process and the expectations.
I am so in awe of how you handle "life" as it is for you two and how you are so caring, loving, and considerate. My heart goes out to you guys.
    Again thank you for sharing.

I haven’t seen your videos lately I think you guys started a new channel or changed the name of your channel so I lost track. Leslie you look like your loosing weight I really see it in your face you’re already so small don’t loose anymore. I admire you so much I wish I lived by you I’d take you for a spa day I know how hard it is being a caregiver and being tired in your soul and needing self care it takes a big toll on you. Please know you are seen and heard and we all appreciate how brave you are to put your story on here to share with all of us. God bless you guys ❤

I have been, very sporadically, rebuilding a 1965 Mustang Convertible as a means to keep my mind engaged (never done most of the stuff). It was "officially" a birthday present for my Wife, who was born in 1965 (but she's only 40 y/o). I am trying to finish it after 15 months so we can drive, top down, the Blues Highway from New Orleans to Memphis and beyond. I'm kinda racing the clock now and hope I am still able to drive when I finish it.

I like everything your doing and I lost my husband, Rob, last August to Lewy Body Dementia with some Parkinson thrown in for good measure. As his full time caregiver I was exhausted and my Stress level was through the roof. Íve been where you are now and Íve seen it through to the end! I pray for you and Jason because I know where you’re going. You haven’t said anything lately about Jason’s having Lewy Body Dementia only that he has Dementia. Did they reevaluate him and drop the Lewy Body? At your ages y’all have that much of an advantage over where we were as I am 75 and Rob was 86. I’m still fighting to get my strength back and to try my best to figure out who I am now without my other half. You are both doing such a good job of trying to explain your every day life. Behind the scenes I understand what’s really going on and I commend your bravery. All of us caregivers current and past are sending you massive amounts of love and courage to get you both safely through the tough times to come. My counselor gave me some grand advice and I promise it helps to relieve your stress and diminish your anger. Find a Nerf Bat, pile your pillows up on your bed, now put a face or a disease name on those pillows, now take your bat and cuss, yell and cry while you beat the hell out of those pillows!!! God love you and Jason and protect you! With Love Janelle Robison.

It’s nice to see Jason still has his humor about it though I get that it can be a defense mechanism or a way to avoid dealing with his feelings or frustrations about his I’llness.

Yes! I have to be listening to every conversation. But the funny thing is my husband knows to get me to be present. I also have told the people in our lives to let me know important requests and details discussed with him and why. It was embarrassing, I felt embarrassed for him and don’t want people to treat him less than the man he is. I have heard you say that!

I cannot thank your family enough for sharing your journey with us. I'm a retired nurse and my husband has some form of dementia that the Drs can't figure out. The just say he doesn't have it, but they don't have to live with him. 😢

I have told medical staff to call me. I have documented that in writing. My husband has told them to call me. Who do they call every time? My husband. He just goes along with everything they propose during phone calls, such as appointments 3 months in the future when that is inappropriate. Ugh.
