Rellana, sister to Renalla, is certainly a cool boss, however, she still got the short end of the stick. No Cutscene, not nearly as much lore as some bosses, and she doesn't even have a face! Well time to do her a solid and give her a video of her very own. How busted could this DLC remembrance boss be when built and sent on out to become Elden Lord in a NG+ cycle taking on EVERY remembrance in the base game and DLC!

I never realized how underdeveloped lore and storywise rellana feels, especially for a remembrance boss.
She really jist feels like someone's OC that didn't put too much thought into thinking whag giving Renalla a sister would do lorewise
A good chunk of the remembrance bosses in the DLC feel that way sadly. Gaius, Putrescent Knight, Scadutree Avatar, Romina, Rellana, and to a lesser extent Metyr, all lack cutscenes, dialogue, anything to go with it. Every time they dropped a remembrance, I was surprised due to the lacking presentation given to them. The base game was definitely better about giving importance to their remembrance bosses. At least Metyr has an entire questline with the finger ruins building up to the fight and the scarlet rot near Romina is kinda some buildup to her fight.

Fun fact about the swords. If you equip them to your right hand and don’t 2 hand, you use the fire sword. Equip to the left hand to use the magic sword.
Also the Carian thrusting shield is Relana’s and could’ve been used for blocking.
Neat fact, does it change the requirements at all or do you still need all of it? Needing such split stats is kinda a shame so I wish it could be focused on one or the other

@@shmooters5599 IIRC, you still need the min requirements to use either of the AoW. But since each sword only scale with their respective stats (fth for fire, int for magic), you can (kinda) specialize on one of the damage types. Unfortunately, the fire sword will always be on the left hand and magic on the right.

The twin moons can be ass.... but in those moments where they work they fucking work.
Been having a lot of fun using them with Endure. Spanks crowds when they can't knock you out of the animation.
You know what else works really well and works in more moments?
Like a ton of other spells.
The spell that works sometimes in specific situations is useless cause we have so many of those. It doesn't even do anything extra, it's just damage.
At least give it frostbite build up, that way you can reset the frostbite with the swords.
Kinda sad that the Sword of Night and Flame is currently better than Rellana's Twin Blades. I wonder if they'll get buffed in a following Patch.
I personally like the light greatsword moveset more than the straight sword but other than that I agree
The only thing that really needs a buff is honestly stagger damage holy smokes these things are a pain in the dlc where oh shit oh shit oh shit they don't even slightly flinch
I mean they're fine they just need like, stagger, poise damage, something. Just like the twin moon spell needs some kind of hyper or super armor or its not even worth slotting. At least the original moon spells had range, you have to stand on top of an enemy to hit them with the twin moons, meanwhile Relanna could hit you anywhere in the arena
@@doitfaster9553the lack of stagger damage is the biggest problem for sure. It’s rough to hit a trash mob, and watch them just ignore it and bonk you anyways
1:35 but even though the game considers two handing renalla's two swords as one sword, the two swords powerstancing does not get buffed by the "Two-Handed Sword" talisman which buffs weapons when they're being held in two hands which you are doing but you're not because each sword is in one hand
The original way the sealing tree was going to be burned was Messmer cheesing when he sees Rellana’s twin moons.

Level 250 rellana with 55 in int faith str and 50 dex with 55 from millicents prosthesis got me through my dlc ng+7

That’s not a build lmao, that’s just having a lot of everything, a build actually has limitations and a specific focus, rellanas twinblades and honestly all int/fth items are meant for these really high levels like 200+ where you can use crazy stat allocations like these

@Zayd-bg1pt I have 4 accounts, this is the only one I've taken to 250, I respeccd specifically for the twinblades, this let's you get the max use of melee plus good damage from both versions of the AoW, using milicents, Rotten wing your melee still gets absurd and Alexander to follow.
I just don't see the point in cranking past caps when the blades themselves do fire and magic damage on hit, I played around with it and it was the max AR

The no face thing is another thing she shares with pontiff btw, they have the same head model with pontiff having a sort of root texture while Rellana has a chainmail texture

btw for godfrey, whenever he starts the shockwave with the long ass windup for the transition, the window lasts long enough to use twin moons. however, you would do more damage by just hitting him normally so this tip is useless.

The deal with the shadow keep hippo appears to be he got the day 1 radahn treatment. His grab (as well as who knows what other moves) was apparently glitched to have extremely wonky hit boxes. Thjs has since been fixed according to patchnotes.
I like the 15 remembrance idea. I think that Melania is all important. She's the second hardest boss.
Sure, but you ALSO have to gather the secret medallions and do the stupid ghost city torches and get through a massive halligtree map to get to her. Malenia herself generally isn't a problem for him anymore unless he's playing something really weird but that's a LOT of busywork just to get to her.

Cool thing you can do with the Twin blades is if you put the Milady in your off hand, it's the same moveset as two-handing. You can just put Magic or Frost Scaling on it and forget about the fire, and proc frostbite. I'm not sure if the frost buildup is significantly slower that just two-handing the Milady, but it's really fucking cool that you can effectively replace the fire sword with ice, or actively swap between the two.
As someone who does not use spells not named Bloodflame Blade or Flame Grant Me Strength, the biggest surprise of the whole video was at the very end when you casually mentioned Double Moon requires FUCKIN 72 INT

You probably know this already but if you don't, Placidusax is a lot better if you move against the wall since his thundercloud form will always come from the opposite direction of the wall and his lasers will pretty much just miss

Ok, talking about Taylor Swift during the Radahn fight is either an indication that you've already seen it and are making a (sub?)conscious connection to it, or you need to go watch the Animated Ode to Miquella by Nate Sandhart. Cute little animation set to Mastermind - which suits Miquella so damn well I was almost convinced it was made custom for the animation until I looked it up - with so many little lore jokes stuffed into the background. Highly recommend anyone to go find and watch, it's a gem.
All they had to do to make her twin blades busted is make the intelligence portion cause frost so you could spam cast frost because of the fire frost combo

Tbh, Rellana having not even a face make sense, she renounced to almost everything, only having the braid of her sister to show, for the sake of Mesmer's crusade.
Also any opinions or builds soon for the back-breakin madness that is the Putrescence cleaver? Really want to use that weapon.
To be fair, rellanas swords can be buffed through a lot of means, every magic buff and fire buff works for them which means both tears and scorpion charms are free damage and if you can manage them, flame grant me strength and terra mágica can also boost them. Add that with the mill prosthesis and rot wing sword and a decent opening and you can dish out crazy damage. You also have the option to pair milady with it to focus on fire or magic depending on the milady infusion and which hand you put it on. Definitely a tough weapon but if you dedicate yourself to it it can rip

You can parry the guys in the stealth forest when they try to attack you, and they *stay* dead. You don't have to stealth it if you don't want to.
One of them even drops a madness talisman if you ever want to do a madness run.

As a spell lover, I gotta admit, you gave the twin moons a MUCH better try than I ever have. I thought that spell was cool lookin, but garbage. But you really have found some niche uses for it and I think that’s really cool
I’m impressed that the damage on the swords seems pretty good despite only investing in 1 of the 4 stats it scales with. I imagine these in later NG+ runs are BEASTS.

genuinely wouldn't mind your new proposed 15 boss route. I figure we're here to see the builds and the jokes, not necessarily a full gritty guide. If it's not going to be all base game and dlc remembrances, it doesn't really matter which remembrances you do or don't do. Just maybe switch it up a little based on what bosses might be thematic to fight for a certain build.

She got a whole ass ending with a unique cutscene. Only other ending in the game with that honor is the Lord of Frenzy ending.
And, her quest leads you to the two most powerful Spirit Ashes. Tiche, and Mimic Tear. (The latter of which still MASSIVELY outclasses all the other ashes.)
Placidusax would be great if he didn't have the mid-phase teleporting attacks. His big explosion attack is goated, love the look, the build up, and the actual sound of it. I usually just run away and admire it

Killing Messmer does not ruin Ansbach's quest, you just need to finish all his dialogue about Miquellas Charm breaking before he moves to the library. (Source: In the recent GinoMachino video about incants, he needed to get ansbachs incant, noticed that only after defeating Messmer and he still got that quest to work)
I like how You mentioned last time that Rellana needed a voice line and cutscenes, I wish she would have even a custum dialogue if we killed Renalla and even if we did Rannis questline. But she probably does not care.
PSA: Blocking with the staff could’ve worked if you used the Sekiro parry tear (aka deflecting hardtear). The window is small, but if you get the timing right, you’ll block 100% of the physical damage and consume very little stamina. Still not a great setup if you have to swap back to the swords to capitalize on it, but it’s an option on other runs.

Try using the serpent hunter ash of war when rykard is about to enter hell phase. It should knock him out of it and end it. Most of the time it works during my runs.
I love Rellana's weapons but the twin moons spell is so bad it's really a shame because it looks so look so cool
the literal only use I've found for it was to skip the phase transition for putrescent knight when hes pooping out all that blue flame. does enough damage that he didnt even make it to phase 2 proper on my run lol

The moment you realized Ansbach was gone was absolutely hilarious. Probably not for you, but for me it was a riot. Also, I ended up beating Radahn without either Ansbach or Tolier. Neither of them were worth the buff they were giving him.
@18:50 tbf, "situational" I think is the ideal design for spells in a video game. Though you do, uh... need good spells for every situation if you're doing that. But I do think a big part of the appeal of magic in theory (though Elden Ring doesn't deliver all that well) is picking the right spell for the job and having that be part of the skill.

My love affair with the rellana twin blades began to wane (haha moon joke) when I realized it basically couldn’t stance break and couldn’t block at all. I coped with combo boosts for a bit but then I switched to them smithscript weapons. This was post nerf, and I honestly don’t get the hate; they’re fun, pretty strong, and can be infused with ashes of war. Hope your next run has a fun weapon!

I tried using these twinblades for my second DLC run and felt exactly the same as you on hitting Radahn, although I didn't go for the moons so my stat distribution was more even. Once I hit the frustration point I switched to a cold Milady which did much better. Still took me ages because I'm not great and he hits like a truck, but much better than Rellana's.
