Entire sections of the DLC were completely overhauled somewhere along the line. Belurat, and our accessing of Enir Ilim makes like, no sense in the current DLC. D.K is one of my favourite dlc builds. Nice that even my favourite spell truther recognises the sheer power of KLS. I too wish the duel axes were better and that the armour hit 51 poise 😢
I tip I got from Fextralife: the Malformed Dragon Armor legs go great with the DK set and boost you up above 51 poise. It'll only cost you 2% extra Dragon Cult incantation damage from unequipping Dk legs, but the 51 poise while still looking perfect is better, in my opinion.
@@CountryMusicMann Yeah, I'm pretty sure I saw that 2. I prefer the tree sentinel helm, as it hits the breakpoint as well, while looking better than the skull mask (in my opinion).
@@mallblartpaulcop1226 Oh, mostly I'm seeing my character from the back, so I don't particularly care about what the helmet looks like. Plus, if I'm being honest, my mind kind of retcons it into a skull-shaped face helm, and I kind of love that aesthetic.

@@mallblartpaulcop1226 I get that. For my first FEW runs of Elden Ring, I couldn't equip anything other than the Confessor set because it was just badass. Then I discovered the Raging Wolf Helmet and Chest plus the Scaled Gauntlets and Greaves is almost as badass while also hitting 51 poise, and then I use that until I can get the Night's Cavalry set for my Death Knight look. My preference is generally for armors that have that "battle skirt" portion (I don't know what it's called), because otherwise it feels like there's just not enough visually going on, like you're just in a metal onesie rather than proper clothes.
Oh, too bad you were in a bad mood Tulok, hope you get better. I miss you readings on the story, I know you can't do it every week, but your readings have been one of my favorites.
Im sure you know this, but I've been wondering for a while now. There's a platform of hardened Lava to the left of Alexander in the Lavapond next to the stone pillar. You can stand on it and talk to Alexander. That's why he has a throwing animation when he gives you LMSH's helmet.
The Twin Axes are super fun when you use them with the Ruptured Tears Physick. Just barely enough time before the boom to be a one attack winning Blink-Bomber.
something you said about the axe moveset reminded me of an Exploit in Skyrim i heard about: if you equip two one-handed weapons, do a Power attack (hold the button) with one hand, and do a normal attack with the other at the right time, the Power attack will NOT CONSUME ANY STAMINA. i've seen a video where a Speedrunner used that trick to take down a Dragon in a few seconds.
The twin axes were, after Dancing Lion, one of the first things I encountered on my first (blind) Shadow playthrough, and I was pumped as they were a perfect fit for my OG character and looked super cool. Yeah, a somber stone and about two hours later those got packed away and never touched again.
If I recall correctly, the reason you couldn't input sprint during that Waterfowl is because of a relatively obscure mechanic I noticed: if you fully deplete your stamina bar with an action (run/attack/etc, I think?), you'll temporarily be unable to sprint. This was aldo present in earlier Souls titles iirc - very noticable in DS2.
Just in case you don't know for when/if you do the black knights: You can buff the hammers, and there is a black knight who does just that. So do with that information what you will. Also, for the falling spike ceiling. I personally would build the platform without the spikes right on top of the floor (assuming they build from the catacomes from the bottom up? idk) and then build the rest of the room around it, and after the rest of the room was done pull the spike ceiling up a little way and attach the spikes.
To be honest, I love how you changed the tier system post-DLC, I think rating based off an end vibe check is such a good way to do it. I recently did a run based around bloody barbaric roar on the Olivia Rodrigo sword, and while my K/D was pretty trash due to rust and wee too much greed, it was probably the second funnest run I've done, with vigor only being my favourite, cause you hit like a truck and can afford dumb mistakes.
@4:20 Huh, I found the ash of war to be sweet. The ability to close distance is really good for killing small enemies and iirc, it even gets i-frames. It's not great as a "spam this ash of war for all your DPS" but it's pretty good as utility to mix into your move set and that's more fun, if not more effective, IMO.
I remember seeing a video that claimed ancient dragons like Fortissax only take stance damage if you hit them in the head, and specifically in the eyes. The lightning bolts explode into a mini-AoE when they hit their target, so you probably got some eye shots in there.
You know i was all ready to fight about the "too much water in Hoenn" but when you pointed out you need 3 water HM's I was reminded of my normal only playthrough I just completed and how I had to use a non normal pokemon because none of them could learn dive. You make a fair point.

I only changed that strategy once, and that was with PCR, where i forsook the spells and just hit him really hard with the axe and a deflecting hard tear. Fun run
