Not that it matters, as you said, but if you want a 'more accurate' tier list, you could have the big one of all the videos and then a second one that's either your more recent runs, or your runs after a certain time. Either way, I'd suggest rolling runs in and out in chunks to avoid remaking it too often if you do Also, as an idea, you could do dnd classes in elden ring by only leveling the (translated) stats the class gets as saving throws, and saying every class can also have mind and endurance. If it tickles the (finger guns) nice part of your brain, you could even make a little table of olden ring levels to dnd levels that let you take 'feats' and bend the rules, so in your wizard run, you could get a feat for con save proficiency, then level vigor? Alright, done rambling now. Have a good one man, thanks for another fun time :D
Like the idea there are no kaiden sellswords in the Mountaintops because they've all been hired by the wandering nobles. Maybe they are sending money back to their zamor boyfriends
As someone with only a single monitor, I genuinely look forward to watching your videos every week, and I love all the stupid innuendos. They really put a knot in my stomach sometimes

I *LOVE* the Dismounter. Of all the weapons in ER, it's the only one I would want a replica of. I love how it looks, and I love using it ingame. The Kaiden's are also just badass. A bunch of mercs from the cold north who're just there to collect a paycheck and kick butt? Sign me up
There is something very enjoyable about seeing Tulok just zone out and enjoy a run with a fun weapon. I can't put my finger on it, but it's great every time.
Hmm idk "Rule #1: The rules are inconsistent" is a rule for Tulok & Mango challenges, "Rule #1: Don't get grabbed" is a rule for Elden Ring itself. Far as I'm concerned, the consistency of that rule checks out. Hope you enjoyed today's entry of Comment Section Pedantry.
Got the dismounter on my first kill on my first playthrough fifteen minutes in, used it until leyndell without knowing that it was one of the best swords in the game (at least for early game)
Pretty sure that the kaiden left the mountaintops because of the erdtree and fire giant war. And they were broke so they became mercenaries. im also pretty sure they were bought by the wandering nobles and thats why they’re always with them? That makes the most sense imo. Anyways absolutely love your videos.
One thing I'm curious about is why we never see any kind of Kaiden settlement. They mention it's in the north, and you see them in the Consecrated Snowfield. But there's no actual location on the map that would indicate that it's their home base.
best guess is that kaiden _isn't_ part of the lands between; they're full-on foreign mercenaries that cross the seas to find work though, the lands between is just weirdly vacant of settlements in general. you've got like the ailing village, summonwater village, academy town, village of the albinaurics, frenzied flame village, jarburg, those fire monk camps in liurnia, sellia, hermit village, prison town, windmill village, leyndell, and ordina. and i guess street of sages ruins implies there might've been a settlement that got consumed by the swamp of aeonia? regardless, even accounting for space compression due to conservation of detail, it really makes you question how many people even really lived in the lands between during its heyday, because you've got leyndell and academy town and ... _maybe_ sellia and you've gone through all the significant population centers, leaving only rural hamlets and ghettos of minority populations and, like, did you notice how none of those population centers are in limgrave and it has all of two villages spread across all its land? isn't that weird to think about, how such an iconic part of everyone's experience of this formerly great theocracy is just ... like, unsettled wilderness? i guess most of limgrave's population could've been concentrated in the castles and forts built upon the frontier, but then there's the chunk of the peninsula that is tombsward with its titular catacombs and two whole churches and a whopping population of one ( 1 ) nomadic merchant squatting in some rundown shack on the beach. it's just kinda surreal how there's just ... _nothing_ i think i have an idea of what caused this, considering how the legacy dungeons and eternal cities seem to have plenty of room for living quarters and the like, and looking back at the undead parish and the like which pull the same thing off. it's the lack of dead space in the lands between's open world that they can fill with ambiguous buildings just outside of the play area, so what you get is what you see and that's a whole lot of open fields to ride torrent around and find minidungeons in still, makes me wish they put more thought into the commonfolk of this big ol' world
After watching this, I decided to farm a dismounter on my NG run for the DLC I got it on beedrill, Phil is absolutely right about it, if it has great in the name it's great
Spell enjoyer, curved greatswords are a great weapon class. I love the look of the monks flame blade and I GET STANCE DAMAGE with the cool sword. Also the double hit on the second charged attack is a cool gimmick
My favorite run to do with the Rusted Anchor is fantasy ship captain cosplay. Get the anchor, put earthshaker on it, then get a bunch of spirit ashes that represent the ship's crew. The ancestral follower for the minotaur master of arms. The vulgar militia and demi human gang for goblin cabin boys. A few of the two to three soldier/knight ashes for generic crew. And Aurelia and the greatshield squad to round out the roster. Main strength, vigor, and mind and off-hand the meteorite staff for key sorceries, so you don't really need to put too much into intelligence for most of the run.
Fun Fact: My first build in Elden Ring were two dismounters with the kaiden armor. I stuck with it until Fire Giant, where the BS belly fire made me respec and grab the rivers of blood
I just did a whole playthrough with the Dismounter sword. Definitely one of my top 5 favorite weapons in the game. It just checks so many boxes for me. Not the best at anything but very good at everything. Love that this video exists 😁
Thanks for being there on the other monitor You really do make working a lot more bearable Edit - And the skill =/= talent support for us artists? You're a real one
i have a secret starting class recommendation. an aristocrat/wandering noble, you have access to the nobles slender sword, nobles estoc, torch, casting staff, a couple different pieces of armor, and the summons.
7:55 Howl of Shabriri is very unique due to it buffing all damage (physical and elemental) by 25% which makes it a much better Flame, Grant Me Strength that also increases the damage you take so it should definitely at least be in "Fine" tier. Howl of Shabriri + Golden Vow is a straight up broken combination. The damage negation form Golden Vow also makes the extra damage taken from Howl of Shabriri negligible enough.
You’ve GOTTA make a godslayer greatsword build cause you only have to kill the apostle at the bottom of the tower so it’s a “secret starting class” overpowered….. yea but it would be fun to watch
OMG !!! A full Art Vandelay episode ... exclusive and members only !? I never was this close to paying for a YT membership. You almost got me. "SERENITY NOW"
Have you tried the Reforged mod? That might be an interesting series if you want to try new stuff, since they rebalanced everything and made stuff work together better.
I wont lie, the Kaiden Armor is my absolute favorite set in the entire game. Basically every time I hit NG+ since I got thr game (Im in NG+2 right now), I go back to Kaiden armor. I aspire to beat the game while wearing it. I am a Mage focused build (recently maxed my Int, and been slowly buffing Faith so I can use all the buff spells). But I do enjoy using Greatswords when saving on Flasks and FP.
My very first run of Elden Ring was with 2 Dismounters and the full Kaiden set! I started as a Wretch and didn't know what to go for, so I just went with that because I thought they looked cool
How many secret starting classes is this now? As always a great video, your tips help my runs in Elden Ring go much smoother. Thank you and have a great one
Today I learned that hitting things with damage may cause them to die. Great curved weapons do raw "smarm" damage. I love turtles . . . and lamp. Thank you Tulok & Mango.
I mean I will say you should AT LEAST redo just the zuko run since it relied on a specific ash of war that got nerfed after the video was posted. So it would be interesting to compare the two runs and see if it's still as good even with the nerf.
oh, something you said reminded me of a fan-story, where some powerful beings were playing a weird game with the protagonists, and one of them said something like, "one of the rules is that, if YOU figure out what the rules are, we have to change them!" oh, and when you said you were tempted to put "20 minute of nothing at the end", that reminded me of a TRUE story where some "pay-per-view" cable company turned a ONE MINUTE boxing match (first-round knockout) into an HOUR-LONG program with 59 minutes of commercials!
Interestingly, even though the Dismounter doesn't do additional damage on horseback, it does end up having longer reach from horseback than even the otherwise longer great katanas from the DLC, admittedly most of the other curved greatswords do as well, but I'm guessing the length was probably why it got the "dismounter" moniker, and then they went and made Morgot's longer.
