My favourite style of abstract art….I love the process of choosing the limited pallet, navy, turquoise with that Sepia and of course Kuretake gold mica. I have the pipettes and the fan brushes - my lucky day to decide to have a Denise Love binge day….wooohooo. I love the process of choosing and cutting…thank you Denise for the excitement I receive when its a Denise binge day 💙💙💙🩷🩷🧡🧡 ps had to watch this creation twice, coz I loved it…❤❤❤❤❤
Since I make art classes and videos - I keep it - I might need samples and examples. And to be honest - selling physical pieces of art is a pain. I don’t won’t to deal with packaging and shipping of pieces, and the marketing and selling of it. That is another full time job 😂. I store loose sheets in clear art sleeves. Some I frame. I like working in journals now - gives me a book of art to look at and work on 😁

Sure wish I had started my art journey when I was living so close to you. And before COVID when people still did in person workshops!!

So hard to get around… pretty soon the whole state of Ga will just be Atlanta - everything is sprawling out so far. Where I live used to be the middle of nowhere… not anymore! 🤪🤪🤪

more than voicemail, yve given me a new sound system to superimpose over every icky tv, platform or face to face encounter. everyone & everything is become a canvas to color on, drip past, resist fixing and enjoy coming or going. and... ii get to cut them up, cut them off or repurpose altogether...

I once lived in Florida and my American friends loved to hear me say “roof”. Your pieces are really lovely. Composition can be difficult and you handle it with ease. I’ll be binge watching your videos as we Smokey Canadians and Americans in states by the northern border stay inside as much as possible waiting for the forest fires to be extinguished. 🌸🎨🖌️

Denise, you reached for the pipette and I paused the video and put some in my cart on Amazon. When I came back and started this up again you were saying “everybody needs pipettes!” Lol…I agree! I’m feeling tortured watching you choose what you are choosing…there is a two toned heart with half of it with dots. Yay I love all of your choices and the heart is intact with the white swirls on the side! I can breathe again. Lol. Btw, I started my own today after watching you for a week or so. Just wish I had some turquoise ink.

Make several copies of the art piece in color laser print and use it in other collages. I do that when I have a good piece that I love and use some of the sections over and over again in other artwork
Thos one is my fave so far that ive watched from you. While you were loving the lower right i was living the lower left. That one circle looked like a bubble to me& like looking through a bubble. Soo pretty! Im just getting started with abstract in a way- intentional abstract. And I love cutting paintings up too! But I am going to make or get some view finder mats because I love how I'll be able to find small pieces in my big pieces! Thanks so much for teaching and sharing!!❤️🥰❤️

Hi Denise, Love this process, the colors...all the way to how you make "the cut." I only recently started painting and fell in love with doing gouache abstracts. Very different from what you're doing, and that's why I love watching other artists. So much to admire, so much that inspires. :)

WAAAAAAY out of my comfort zone! But I am going to try this technique with my watercolors. Don't have any inks. Ordered a white Posca pen but it's not here yet. I guess part of my challenge is seeing what I actually have to work with.

Hi 👋 I love your tutorials. When I use ink, the colours are very muted. I notice in areas where I have added more to touch up some spots when the page is a bit drier it stays more vibrant. My water soluble pencils need me to wet the page first then when I use the pencils they spread like yours have by brushing over the top. Does the muted ink colour mean I am wetting the page too much. I could let the page dry after the pencil and then start with the ink
Hmmm… I don’t know. I’ve never really paid attention to that. Might be the paper itself soaking up the color more. I’d experiment on different papers and see if that makes a difference. 🤗

Thank you!! I loved these too. Sometimes I take photos or scan them in before I cut them up... but when filming a video - I just go for it... I liked the smaller pieces too. If I had totally hated it - you probably wouldn't have ever seen the video see the light of day... LOL!

Hi 👋 I love your tutorials. When I use ink, the colours are very muted. I notice in areas where I have added more to touch up some spots when the page is a bit drier it stays more vibrant. My water soluble pencils need me to wet the page first then when I use the pencils they spread like yours have by brushing over the top. Does the muted ink colour mean I am wetting the page too much. I could let the page dry after the pencil and then start with the ink
Hmmm… I don’t know. I’ve never really paid attention to that. Might be the paper itself soaking up the color more. I’d experiment on different papers and see if that makes a difference. 🤗
What type of gold paint did you use?..they are gorgeous!!

I keep most of the things I paint since I make videos and classes… I store them in plastic art sleeves. Sometimes I need them to photograph and I use them as samples. Some I have framed in my house. I have given a few as gifts. My goal isn't to sell art - so I have not put them up for sale since I might need them again for something.

Love, love, love this piece! Do you ever take pictures of your art before you cut it up? I would have had a really hard time cutting this one up, but I also loved some if the smaller options.
Thank you!! I loved these too. Sometimes I take photos or scan them in before I cut them up... but when filming a video - I just go for it... I liked the smaller pieces too. If I had totally hated it - you probably wouldn't have ever seen the video see the light of day... LOL!
If you love multiple spots you could scan it in to your computer and make endless copies to digitally cut up 😊
