I am a declared Democrat. Voted for Bernie twice, followed by Clinton and Biden in the general elections. The fact that I can disagree with what Chris Christie says policy-wise, and still feel inspired by him speaks volumes. Not to oversell him; to me, he just seems like any of the dozens of normal Americans I've met throughout my life. He isn't a freak-show attention hog. He isn't a weirdo, obsessed with off-the-wall "culture wars" (as far as I can tell). He just seems like a normal American, who happens to have different policy beliefs than I do. I'm going to vote by policy. But if he keeps this level of statesmanship up, I would never be ashamed to call him my president during a Christie presidential administration.

Sorry, I do understand he speaks for the truth now, but at the end of the day, he was once one of Donald Trump's lackeys. It's very hard to trust the words of the MAGA Republican Party, but I believe that there are lots of Republicans who are still normal! I can also honestly say that among the Republican competitors, I considered him to have the courage to go against the playbook of MAGA extremism and slap it on their faces! Being skeptical and not giving full trust to people who once were on the wrong side... For me, it's just normal. Anyway, Mr. Christie earns my respect for this one, and hopefully he can stand firm for what is right this time 'til the end, even if he may not be lucky to be the Republican nominee, just in case.

What I continually have to remind myself is that they all betrayed their responsibility to the constitution and to basic truth by supporting Trump. Christie isn’t strong enough to wrestle them back from the precipice they are on. My conclusion is that I’ll listen, but will do nothing to empower them; it’s still a fight between democracy and would be authoritarianism.
