That was a fascinating, illuminating interview. No surprise, given the host, the guest, and the subject. I'm really glad to have seen this after so long, especially Margaret's and Walt's intelligence and insight on display. Thanks to everyone involved!

Thank you Margaret for such a great interview. Your guest was informative and your questions provocative . Elon Musk as the subject matter was no less important. Lately he’s been vilified by many critics but your program gave insight into Musk’s persona and mind allowing the viewer to take away valid basis for just criticism and just praise.

Mr. Isaacson reminds me of why I admired Mr. Musk early on; when he was championing alternative energy so much. And I appreciate how Isaacson shines the light on Musk's vision for inter-planetary human settlement. But a major unspoken counter-narrative is the immorality of one person acquiring so much wealth that s/he is capable of funding such endeavors. I'm pretty sure the US federal government could be as successful at Musk if the public sector and public service hadn't been so effectively torn down by neo-liberal economic dogma and GOP public policy since the time of Reagan, more than four decades ago.

Where is this "immorality" codified in any significant way? Looking for an objective response, not a logical fallacy.

People who say the government can do better have never been to third-world countries and learned anything. Elon: "People who think private companies are Evil don't realize that the government is the ultimate cooperation with a monopoly on violence"

I never thought I would ever utter this phrase, but I think the bullies of Elon Musk's youth have shaped him into the person he is today. I think it drove him to become an innovator that can smugly take pride in all he has built and accomplished. He would benefit in realizing his weaknesses and surround himself with people who could better guide his more questionable instincts, i.e. encouraging hate speech and Nazi ideology on his X platform, as well as his decision to disable Starlink and interfere in Ukraine's ability to fight against Putin's evil invasion of their country. I view him sometimes as an evil genius (like a Bond movie villain), and I am sure that his actions may sometimes cause advertisers and investors to pause when deciding whether to align themselves with him and his products. His advancements in space travel are admirable, but I personally wish he could channel his creative energies into endeavors that could benefit the common good.

@@mailman2332Are you saying that, in your opinion, Elon Musk has not matured? Or maybe he suffers from "Peter Pan syndrome"? If so, you may be on to something there.

20:55 Issacson being diplomatic. Margaret sniffing at Elon Musk with her "Oh, so Immoral Elon's just happy to ignore the genocide in China!" And Walter comes back with a gentle explanation of How the World Works to counter her self-righteousness: Gently explaining to her: "Well, our government does the same thing, right? along with countless businesses, so..." Note to Meg: You and the U.S. support the war crimes of Israel, too, so...

And after she "yeah yeah yeah's" her way out of taking accountability for that very obvious fact, Issacson regards her with, I suppose, an irritation blended with sadness.

Investing now should be in every wise individuals list, in some months time you'll be ecstatic with the decision you made today. The Inflation is killing me prices is killing us all. The money made is not enough to sort everything out and the family. What we need is a lucrative business or investment. And I just did and very proud I did!!
