    A quite serious argument can be made that Chris Christie is, indeed, the best possible Republican candidate for President of the United States -- if he chooses to run. The primary difficulty with such a run, however, is that the Republican party has now moved so far to the right that a Republican centrist like Gov. Christie may be out of the running altogether. That's a shame, in my view.

    Thank you again Ms. Hoover for the finest program on TV. Governor Christie makes the point that even Trump doesn't believe the election conspiracy which begs the question: who does actually believe this?

    Listening to this cogent and logical interview with Chris makes me really wonder how it's now the Democrats that are the crazy party. I'm trying to be objective listening to this, and I'm finding it difficult not to snjoy his words. It's a breath of fresh air.

    Great interview. I love how Margret followed up on Nicolle's questioning, because I (like Margret and Nicolle, I assume) respect and sort of like Chris Christie... but he is just wrong on that point and I am still unsatisfied by his answers to their lines of questioning. If the theme of your book is calling out misinformation and conspiracy theories ON THE RIGHT, I don't see how you omit the most watched/highest rated Primetime show that is participating in and propagating just that!

    • @eben7248
      @eben7248 2 года назад

      I think his point was that Tucker does not synthesise those conspiracy theories, so the book was more about where the conspiracy theories are emerging from rather than who is amplifying them. That being said, I still think he should have mentioned Fox News/Tucker Carlson, if for no other reason than to protect himself from the predictable and understandable assumption that he is omitting something deliberately.

    Hoover is an excellent interviewer. After discovering Firing Line with Margaret Hoover on RUclips, I've watched and listened as she's interviewed a half-dozen luminaries: Elie Honig, Mike Gallagher, Jon Meacham, Charlie Sykes, Andrew Weissmann, among others.
    I get a feeling that she doesn't much like Christie. She was more antagonistic toward him than she was toward the others. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Christie has been inconsistent in his views on Trump. It's clear to me that Hoover doesn't like Trump.

    I don’t get her line of questioning either, or why she’d show those absurdly shrill clips by Tucker Carlson. I think Christie pretty much demonstrated by not discussing him at any length that he’s simply not worth the ink to write it down.

  • @jsharp3165
    @jsharp3165 2 года назад

    Christie weasels every out of every question, refuses to be held accountable for being Trump’s toady in 2016, refuses to refute Fox, then turns around and acts like he’s a voice of maturity and reason in the GOP. His words mean absolutely nothing. His 15 minutes are over.

    Top priority needs to be several different voting laws getting passed. Most importantly, do something about the anti democracy ppl that Republicans have and are installing who will go against the will of their states voters if who they want to win doesn't win.
