A great hit for the Magnificent EIGHT, written by geniuses Gamble, Huff and Ross...and originally recorded by Dee Dee warwick, with a follow up version by Madeline Bell. I extended this version with the original instrumental track.
This is the Temptations-and-Supremes' signature song as a duo of groups. Nobody else can touch it, or them.
Definitely one of the best and most underrated of the Motown classics. "Great song" is an understatement.

This song came out in 1968 and is 50 years old in 2018. I'm loving it as much now as I did then. Thank you for reminding us what good, timeless music sounds like.

This is my jam. Was in college at Univ. of Okla in the 60's when this came on the radio of my friends mustang. We pulled over to stop and listen and purchased it the next week. Classic with Eddie Kendricks and Diana Ross on leads. Love, love, love this cut. The Funk Brothers killed it too.

I posted this lady's picture as my cover photo but, "I am a Man." Now with that said, my eye's are starting to water. I was 11 years old when this song came out in 1968. My mother would let me and my sister's stay up and watch the Temptations & Supremes whenever they would perform on the Ed Sullivan show. Those were good times for me.

These people sang with what heavenly notes and also just listen to their message, almost every one of these song carry a special place in my heart, so the ones that took the time to sing out God bless each n every one of u. What a great collective with me forever more, n for those who listen have my admiration as well God bless us all.

Notice that this was produced by Frank Wilson and Nick Ashford WITHOUT Valerie Simpson, who did not feel like making the trip to Detroit to work on this project!

When the radio DJs got this album, they picked this song as the single, but Motown didn't.
So it was not included in their "TCB" special. If it had been, it would've reached number one, instead of number two.
Of course Motown, realizing their mistake, rushed out the single.
