I was prescribed 50,000 units vit D once per week. It climbed up slowly. It took several months to get to 50 because I have the gene that interferes with normal metabollism of vit D. After a motorcycle accident I didn’t go outside for a couple months. Ended up getting prescribed copious amounts of SSRIs and other ADHD medication and depression medication. I never understood why I was so depressed after the motorcycle accident but six years later I was tested and very very deficient in vitamin D.
It made me very sad to realize this. A whole struggle was very likely just a deficiency in vitamin D, but I was getting pills shoved down my throat that weren’t even targeting the problem. Took 7 years to figure out.

Dr Berg recommends 20,000IU of vitamin D, take with K2 daily. You can start with 50,000 daily D if you’re very low. Takes about 1-2 months to get levels up a bit.
Magnesium Glycinate is most absorbed and needs to be taken before bed to help sleep.

Years ago I lived in Australia and then Italy, so there wasn't much difficulty getting some sun exposure, but here in England we sometimes go for weeks where it is grey and raining, even in the summer. I feel so much better on days with a blue sky when I spend some time outdoors, and taking vitamin D supplements doesn't really replicate that, but it's probably better than nothing.

I have problems with my teeth and noticed that pain and troubles with infection was reduced when I switched from zinc glycinate to citrate.
How much D3 to take is a good question, and I guess more research is coming as the general interest for this topic is trending. I have used 10 000 IU most days for some years, so on average it's been at least 5000 IU daily during winter. I live in Scandinavia and I don't get out very much, so supplementing is critical. It is so important to gauge one's own health and well-being, having courage to do what is best for oneself.
On a few occasions, when feeling the onset of a cold or infection, I take 50 000 IU of D3 for 1-4 days, depending on how I feel. I also add grams of vitamin C feeling a cold is on its way. And I now take K2/MK7. My bloodwork a month ago returned >375 nmol/L of S-25-hydroxiVitaminD, 50-178 considered normal. It was called "potentially toxic" and I was told to stop all supplementation of D3 immediately. I did, but my fatigue and brainfog is worse again and since yesterday I feel a cold coming on. I need to learn more about this "potentially toxic" state and what actually happens in my body. I've been ill for years and my metabolism is shot, and I have always reacted differently to lots of substances. I have learned through the years not to trust my doctors on these issues.

Legitimate concerns also regarding your practitioner. I found out 2 days ago from being in with endochonology team that I have been severely deficient in Vitamin D since 2018 😮 and some of the chronic physical pain, brain fog, inability to digest and more could be to do with this deficiency. I was stunned especially as I get regular screening because of my poor health. Also that I am on the lowest and likely insufficient dosage for my thyroid so whereas I was told all my physical issues were my fibromyalgia some are likely the lower dosage and levels of these necessary things and I was never made aware. Not only was it not told to me but I was told my thyroid was fine. After discovering I am at a 5.3 when they want my thyroid a 2.5 I am stunned 😳

Which magnesium is best if one has type 2 diabetes?

    • @apocalypse9347
      @apocalypse9347 2 года назад

You can reverse DM2 with intermittent fasting and keto diet. No sugar. No carbs. In my opinion , L-threonate or glycinate are best. Malate, taurate, ornatate are very good. Citrate goes right through but is good if constipated.
Get a bucket of very warm water with 1/2 cup epsom salt and soak feet every night for 30 minutes for transdermal absorption. You can also add some borax and baking soda.
      Peace and blessings 🙏

Would the ideal intake not be: about 2 hours after vitamin D3, take vit K2 ?
Why: because D3 draws/binds Calcium out of bones, so to drive unused Calcium back in bone tissue as vit K2 does, one should postpone vit K2 intake until 2 hours after D3 intake.
So a combination pill is sub-optimal. K2 in combo, would interfere to some extend D3, so weakening the effectiveness of D3, causing the need for more D3, thus depleting stored vit D, more quickly than when postponing K2 intake by 2 hours
What is your assessment and that of other experts ?

Everyone can react different with Vitamin D. If you do have an objective blood test that states your too high that could also mean your deficient in Magnesium.
Supplementing with VitD I had a 60 ng/dl of Vit D and was feeling the side effects. I started with a good brand, "KAL" magnesium Glycinate 2-3 at night, 1 during day for 400mg after 1.5 months was able to start feeling relief.

Calcium level is normal. Last time I was taking D3 2000 with magnesium for two months. The test shows 101,5 nmol/L = 40,6 ng/ml and no side effect but im not sure if i can increase D3 because im almost in the middle of optimal range.

@@kolys1 hello, the sides started with random bone pain/muscle weakness. I was taking 3000IU w/ all co factors. When vision became blurry with big headaches I finally stopped.
Apparently excessive VitD can deplete retinols which if deficient can cause the muscle/vision problems.
When I stopped VitD I ramped up my Magnesium starting with 200mg citrate then 100mg citrate with 400mg mag glycinate at night after about 1.5mo of this Mag regimen I began to feel the tightness of musculoskeletal unravel and rest of VitD side effect slowly subside.
I think I really turned a corner when I went with:
      1.) Omega-3,2g of epa,1g DHA
2.) UNDeffated dessicated liver 3-4k mg
3.) Mag Glycinate 2-400 at night, mag malate 100mg day
4.) Vitamin A retinol palmitate 2500 IU (liver has approx 1000 IU. Beta Carotene only absorbed 3-5%
After a year and a half no supplementing VitD I was tested at 56ng/dl and feeling a lot better!
My diet should be more beef but mainly is potato/rice, Veg Greens, 15-20 eggs/week, full fat milk/yogurt. 1-2 lbs of beef/turkey/week
Know this is long winded but just wanted to give full info to help. I'm in North near Canada and not nearly as much sun But certain types are Prone to VitD nasty sides.
