Magnesium glycinate helps me sleep through the night, my heart palpation are gone and my lifetime battle with anxiety is a good 85 percent if not more.....better. Magnesium glycinate is changing my life mentally and physically unlike any medication I've ever take in my 58 years of life so far. And there have been so many medications for me throughout the years.
I started magnesium glycinate 2 weeks ago because I have had insomnia for 4 yrs. I just developed low high blood pressure after my whole life having low blood pressure. I am taking 300 mg 1 hr before bed. I also live in chronic pain with a cut spinal cord & several herniated discs from a major car accident 25 yrs ago. Thanks for everything you do to bring us to optimum health!🙏🙏🙏
Yes mark is amazing and his pod casts are amazing I've learned alot watching them. Get some fermented cacoa I watched a video where it releases natural stem cells that stitch the body back together with minimal scarring. I had 2 deep cuts in my finger and thumb it was healing slowly and once I added the cacoa within a week you couldn't see even a scar. While I realize it's been 25 yrs since your injuries but give it a try

Great info here - several years ago I started focusing on Magnesium increases (Sprouted Pumpkin Seeds, Sprouted Hemp Seeds, Bananas, Figs, etc.) and the results were tremendous. The more active you are, the more of this key electrolyte you burn through, and I didn't realize I needed more than the RDA of 400-500mg per day. Now I try to get at least 800mg per day and I've never looked back. No more being tired after a hard day at the gym or on the volleyball court (unless I've simply not gotten enough sleep the night before). Now days I can burn 4,000 to 5,000 calories in one day, not even replace all those calories that same day, and still have energy to do whatever I need to the next day while still in a caloric deficit. Deficits used to drain me a lot more before I worked on my electrolyte balance (of which, Magnesium was the last one I tweaked and improved).

Dear Dr Hyman, a recent study (Zhang et al., 2021) found that not only magnesium helps with the inhibition of inflammation but also with the regeneration of peripheral nerves by promoting schwann cell and axon multiplication. Is it something you would agree with? Thank you.
Hey Mark, I just recently discovered your channel. Great content man. I have a similar body type to you, could you make a video about healthy weight gain?
Okay, I must ask... because I have found now that I am older, in my 50s, that the only thing that helps prevent muscle cramping for me is magnesium. Why on earth do I now need to ingest 200-500mg of magnesium per day to prevent those twitching muscle fibers and cramps? In the larger scheme of genetics and nutrition would our ancient ancestors have had a diet of items in nature that provided a continuos supply of magnesium in such dosages? Why on earth would a person need to take this supplement in such quantity?
Our soil is completely depleted. So the plants that we eat as well as the meat that we eat, which eats plants, see where I’m going with this? There’s a deficit in general.
@@AriesGirlTAROT I can wrap my head around that and also that our western food industry has mis educated the public about nutrition. I do somewhat wonder though how our ancestors may have consumed foods that had 200-400mg of Magnesium or 650-1300mg of calcium each day. Two examples of minerals western folk tend to be deficient in. Or is it more that our gut biome and organs have been damaged so much by the garbage foods (chemicals, etc) each of us unknowingly eat until we get older and learn why we feel terrible every day?
UPDATE: So, recently I have discovered, with the use of AI research that the real issue with my own Muscle Cramping experiences seems to be related to the Oxalates in my foods. These Oxalates bind to the Magnesium and Calcium minerals already in my body making them unavailable for use by my muscles which equals CRAMPING. This discovery of knowledge has change the game for me as I now know that Calcium is more important to my own resolution than Magnesium. I now take 1300mg of Calcium Citrate each day and Whalla! No Muscle cramping! I am still working on the correct balance of Magnesium and Calcium to eliminate cramping all together, but am finding that I need to consume this everyday or the issue simply returns after eating or intense exercise. I must assume this issue is due to damaged kidneys or some other odd function that got ruined by my younger self who ate lots of sugar and fast foods for 3 1/2 decades.
Taking over 5000 mg magnesium glycinate a day. Clearly I am deficient since it doesn’t give me diarrhea. At age 67, I started getting hot flashes for the first time. No meds except for thyroid. Clean diet. Feel awful; can’t sleep.
Our earth soil is depleted of nutrients and minerals and our vegetables don't contain the nutrients we need and we can never eat enough veggie to meet our needs even if it's fresh produce.
What depletes the body of magnesium? The use of chemicals, such as fluoride and chlorine, bind to magnesium, making the water supply low in the mineral, as well. Common substances - such as sugar and caffeine - deplete the body's magnesium levels.
Any thoughts on how magnesium deficiency can be exacerbated after traumatic brain injury? No one is connecting the dots between the symptoms that can’t be confirmed by imaging and nutrient deficits or nutrients not being bioavailable, I.e, can’t make it to the bloodstream and brain cells.,hypoxia..
you said that thyroid antibodies can decrease after a month by taking selen and zink and also quitting gluten and diary. It didn't decreases to a half. Only 3 points from 31 to 28. (TPO). O took nigella sativa too.
apacur 0 seconds ago Regardless of which magnesium I try -- even in the smallest dose - It's like I took a tranquilizer- The next day or two I can hardly stay awake Why?
Just cut out soda/alchohol/sugar. The magnesium they sell in the stores only works for a very short time until the body adapts to it. Changing the diet is the best way.

Is hiatal hernia cause by a magnesium deficiency?
Taking over 5000 mg magnesium glycinate a day. Clearly I am deficient since it doesn’t give me diarrhea. At age 67, I started getting hot flashes for the first time. No meds except for thyroid. Clean diet. Feel awful; can’t sleep.
I have CKD, I have to eat a moderate amount of protein. 2 eggs per day is perfect!
Our earth soil is depleted of nutrients and minerals and our vegetables don't contain the nutrients we need and we can never eat enough veggie to meet our needs even if it's fresh produce.
Agree that’s probably true. But I guess we need to do the best we can.
He looks so gaunt compared to the last time I saw him. Wonder if he is sick or it's just the lifestyle?
No he had a lot going on in his personal life
What depletes the body of magnesium?
The use of chemicals, such as fluoride and chlorine, bind to magnesium, making the water supply low in the mineral, as well. Common substances - such as sugar and caffeine - deplete the body's magnesium levels.
Any thoughts on how magnesium deficiency can be exacerbated after traumatic brain injury? No one is connecting the dots between the symptoms that can’t be confirmed by imaging and nutrient deficits or nutrients not being bioavailable, I.e, can’t make it to the bloodstream and brain cells.,hypoxia..
Interesting, I also have TBI from 25 yrs ago major car accident. I am wondering if this is significant also?
Same here!
My son has a TBI from 2012. He started taking magnesium a month ago and he is doing great!
Magnesium threonate helps me get out of restless legs.
might be iron deficiency
Magnesium and Vitamin D go hand in hand
you said that thyroid antibodies can decrease after a month by taking selen and zink and also quitting gluten and diary. It didn't decreases to a half. Only 3 points from 31 to 28. (TPO). O took nigella sativa too.
I might have missed it but what are normal magnesium levels in the body? Thanks
Listen at 12:00.
Also in his last sentence or so he specifies what test to get.

Regardless of which magnesium I try -- even in the smallest dose - It's like I took a tranquilizer- The next day or two I can hardly stay awake

🌷Thank you for your gr8 information;-)
You’ve been one of my doctors for like 15 years and don’t even know if. lol Thank you for all that you do ❤
i use a simple method to get relief, i dip my feet in Epsom salt & water to get some magnesium
Please soak... it is lovely
He looks like John Stewart.
after gallblader surgery i am nearly die
my body dont absorb suplement
See Dr Jin Sung on magnesium. He tells you what you need if no gall bladder
What about IBS-D? Magnesium is a laxative and difficult to incorporate with this.
Stay away from Magnesium Oxide and Citrate and you should be fine.
Take an iron supplement and it will not irritate the bowel.
Just cut out soda/alchohol/sugar. The magnesium they sell in the stores only works for a very short time until the body adapts to it. Changing the diet is the best way.
My magnesium test says 2.2... should I still take a supplement? And how much?
Good question. Did you use his company? If so how do you like it?
answer this doc ... or the talking is useless " What about the mag should take and for what and maybe a amount should try per day " or what to look for when buying maybe a suggestion
1:50 pharmaceutical drugs are _sold_ on one metabolic pathway but have deliterious effects on a number of other pathways, that's how the long list f side effects is developed.
Are related to then potentially, hmm
When i still worked i used to get these heart flutters at night. I went to doctor once but they said they would have to put me on cardiograph to see. Well even if they did they wouldn’t have seen that all it was, was low magnesium. Doctors to me are useless in that regard. I never had another heart flatter since i started supplementing Magnesium. With that I supplement all other vitamins, it keeps me away from doctors.
I get flutters at night too. It just started after doing low carb. 🤔
@@anthonywilliams3822 so how are you with your D3 and magnesium are you supplementing?
Is your flutter still gone?
@@anthonywilliams3822same here
@@antoniowhite2606 yes absolutely 👍 no more flutters since i have been taking Magnesium. I used to get them all the time, sometimes i felt like passing out during the day. This was when i was younger. Now i am much older and no flutter or irregular heart beat like heart skipping.
I started magnesium but stopped because I got so itchy. Could I be allergic to it?
There are different kinds. So what are you taking.
You can be allergic to other ingredients in a pill (you need to study the ingredients list), also you can be allergic to a certain type of magnesium. And of course some medical conditions can be a factor of a bad reaction.
You should do video on the deaths of our young kids dying of cardio events because of getting you know what
Well that's what capatlism countries want population control Mr bill gates
So you are asking and answering your own question ⁉️
... why are you even asking a question that you seem to obviously know the answer to 🤔
@@clarkclarkeNot too hard to understand here. The majority are still ignorant and need to hear it from someone like the doc who reaches more people.
RUclips would probably just censor it. Would like to know if Dr. Hyman took it though.
We all know the story there. You Tube will just demonitize the video and warn the content creator that there content is "false infomation".
A simple fix.
