Lyrics
Sonically we're in control
We're the diamond in your soul
Images come thick and fast
From the future, from the past
The film starts, the film ends,
Nothing is said in between.
Just sudden moments from someone else's story,
Will it ever be the same again?
Hours filled with conversation, no attention paid.
Too distracting convention, no need for friends.
Will it ever be the same again?
Will it ever be the same again?
You're original, with your own path
You're original, got your own way (x2)
Will it ever be the same again? (x2)
I need to hear that again
Because a dream starts, and a dream must end.
My mother told me, don't ever change
You're original, in your own way
My mother told me, don't ever change
You're original, got your own path
You're original (x2)
Will it ever be the same again? (x2)
I need to hear that again
Because a dream starts, and a dream must end.
You're original (x5)
2024 and it still never fails to impress! What an era!
Can we just go back to the 90's again and appreciate how wonderful the music was!!!! OMG there was so much good stuff!!!!
I'm in...... packed and ready to go..... 😄
Zeus your God?
If you've got the DeLorean I'm game.
Could be nice, but like Rick Sanchez I don't do time travel.
A soundtrack for those of us living in the mid to late 90s. A great time for music, Massive Attack, Underworld, Leftfield.
Boards of Canada
Leftfield @ Glastonbury 2000 was probably the best live act I've ever experienced
Early 1990s is when they started to release music
All of those were also a blast live
Glad i survived. A decade and more of great music.
...сподобалось, дякую. Добра, Миру і Натхнення!
This album defined the decade.....
Welcome to the year 2021. Leftfield still sounds incredible
No evidence of a soul whatsoever fellow primates
I agree Juan
asi es, mi albun favorito de los 90,
Welcome to your future 2023
2024 and it's still TRUCKING!!!!
Anonymous tweet? Nope, I came back here as I always do from time to time because I've loved both Leftfield and Toni Halliday from Curve's work since 1992 when I was 19. It's all about the music for me!
Hear you. Had the frozen EP. Good times!
Agreed. Doppelgänger never came out of the 10 disc Sony multidisc changer in my XR3i for about 2 years 😂😂
When I got to know this piece around me, my misunderstanding, depression and feeling guilty to be in another world, I wrote then "pain is my everyday life, nonsense is normal in pain we are born and we die in pain" but music gave me life so that I could continue to live ... ...
💯
Saw leftfield play leftism in its entirety last night in Birmingham. Was awesome. Love this album. Love this song.
I'm going yo see them tonight in Dublin..🎉
Still gives me goosebumps after all these years!
It really does give you Goosebumps , Special Tune.
The lyrics to this song are literally about thirty years ahead of their time.
We're living in a world where digital media is part of our lives in a way that almost nobody would have guessed or predicted.
Some people are ahead of that curve and lots of us are still only just catching on.
I don't think I'm wrong when I
say nowadays we're living in a world where the relavence of that on a psychological and philosophical level, can't be overstated.
Those in the know tend to be either exploiting or trying to warn.
It's like we are living in a world of "influencers" and "followers".
Will it ever be the same again?
I was 10 or 11 when this came out and my mother absolutely loved this album. As I grew up I went in the direction of rock, heavy metal and beyond, but after she passed away in 2012 I gradually checked out more of the music she was into. Needless to say, Leftfield - in particular 'Leftism', blew me away. Incredible record I somehow missed as I was into 90's dance/rave/house/electro as a teenager, the opening four lines of this song are an incredible earworm. I could immerse myself in this all day.
1999...met my future... could feel my life emerging..pure class...❤
wow over 20 years old i just found it and i can't get enough of it i'm playing it over and over again
Leftfield were from the future, seen them 12 times - AMAZING. Play this in a club today and it don't sound out dated.
Yo también pensaba que iban a ser el futuro, imaginaba música de éste estilo, pero por desgracia no fue así y el regueton, el trap y los ritmos latinos de mala calidad han ganado la batalla, que lástima la verdad...
Album is 21 years old and still doesn't sound dated. Massive
it sounds dated as shit lol
I think it does sound dated but still is really awesome. Original, Song of Life or Open Up = classics
@ Francis Pilgrim - How? Because it doesn't have nursery-rhyme simplicity and doesn't run at 180 MethheadBPM?
Ok, Pilgrim, tell us where it's at?
goes around comes around
Tunes that make you wonder why they weren't more popular. This album was amazing and still sounds awesome.
Because most of the public were too busy arguing about Blur vs Oasis (both shit IMO) and All Saints vs The fucking Spice Girls around this time, and only a few 'in the know' people were listening to stuff like this (comparatively speaking) - I was knee deep in Goa/Psytrance when this came out (I still am to be fair) and I loved this album. Lying with my girlfriend after the parties/clubs with a fat J and slowly coming back to Earth........
@@bertbing3406 another lost generation...i am one of them.
To be fair Leftfield did have a fair old following back then. Not as huge as Oasis or Blur and all of that, but Leftism did strike a chord with a lot of people, myself included. I was in my early 20's when it came out and was really broadening my horizons musically back then and was listening to all sorts from Napalm Death to the Aphex Twin to Lee Scratch Perry. Leftism was just incredible though. Still sounds relevant today in this Godawful year of 2020.
Тhey were popular bro...
@@bertbing3406 Amen.
One of my favourite songs of all times
One of the absolute masterpieces of Trip Hop...
How can this be 25 years old? I have such fond (if slightly fuzzy) memories of this as one of my university anthems. The amount of floors I've been crashed out on getting lost listening to this...
Nearly 50 plus years in regards to the sex pistols.
I went to see Leftfield for the 2nd time, I was 5 months pregnant with my last baby, who grew up to be a beautiful chilled and loving son. Before anyone says anything, I ordered the tix before I fell pregnant, and after arrival my ex and his mates dropped pills and left me to look after their coats. I don't put up with bullshit and 'lost' their property, some of it in the toilet (oops).
The bonus was that a security guard took pity on me so he let me up on the balcony where wives, and girlfriends, and anyone else personally connected to the band sat. I was so glad for that gesture. It turned out what was a shitty time, magically transformed into a glorious evening. I was able to dance without fear of anyone barging into me. I went to see so many bands whilst pregnant, and my seemed to love this, and today he is a Leftfield fan. It was a fantastic evening that could have been shit..
Babies in the womb pick up on vibration and love music. My ex wife and I went to a metal concert when she was 7 months in... the health advisor said as long as you're not on the stage floor, it's perfectly healthy... my daughter, now 5 years old loves music!
Making replay and replay having many cds, anytime your song, your voice and music have taken my body, spirit and soul... You're washing my poor soul... thanks a lot !!!
I remember this album being released 28yrs ago and listening to it, and listening and listening to it.....
It's a masterpiece IMO
"will it ever be the same again".......nuff said!!!!!!!
Hasn't aged a day, "from the future, from the past" couldn't be a more accurate.
As fresh today (may 2020) as it was bk in '95. This Massive Attack, Portishead, Goldie, Bjork, we were spoilt for great bands!
Stunning track, good memories
Editing and super grooves, like in the the old days of yellow& Kraftwerk and i feel love modoror.
woah!! ..!! excellent !!
This will never get old
Leftfield are the Goat
Best track on the Leftism album.Beautiful!
2020 still listening :)

@@ekka0 hopefully not..keep safe 😁
Always!!
Don’t ever change ❤️❤️❤️
2021 and still travelling
Nostalgia can be damaging, but this track to me back to a time of innocence and great times. Thank God they reissued this Lp ❤
This is beautiful... timeless.
Most beautiful music from the cradle of life
Wow just found this amazing probably play it all day tomorrow in my own little world
This is totally divine.
This track really got me into Leftfield and other UK electronica and trip hop acts like
Massive Attack, Portishead, Unkle, Sneaker Pimps, Tricky, Red Snapper, Allflaws
Leftism, arguably the greatest dance album of all time. Phenomenal, from start to finish 👌🏼
Lyla Born out of pure love, in an era of Love, Our Girl, Your Dad gave us this gift, now its yours to enjoy Love Mum ❤ xxxx
oh my!!!where have I been for 21 years.XXXX love it!!
my late brother used to tell me this song was about me..,.....god I miss him ❤️. (still original)
Thank you for sharing that ❤
I'm here because I'm just floating from tune to tune, sometimes I choose, sometimes I follow the up next and just find stuff.
I found this after Open Up.
It's awesome.
I can't believe this song came out in 1995. It's so different and futuristic.
Tremendously clear audio, for once, thank you.
Omg, forgotten about this beauty.. ❤
This was an epic track. Here we are 24 years later and still sounds mind blowingly good.
It's 2021 and I just discovered Leftfield.
You been living under a rock😂..glad you did tho.❤
fresh when this came out ,and still fresh now, timeless album
Потрясающий трек, как познакомился с ним лет около 20 назад так и влюбился навсегда.
у curve и leftfield почти нет проходняка, люди делали качественные вещи
iS ALL !! AMAZING TRACK !!!
I enjoy making music, Leftfield are one of my favourite bands to listen to and help creatively. Two tracks I’ have on my own channel, Parallel and Coffee, are very much in honour of Leftfield.
Who came here because this randomly started playing in their head?? Iconic ❤
Memories ! !!!!
I always found this track to be hypnotic.
Tim Simeon just being the coolest ‘not in the spotlight at all’ person in the world. So dope. Even when he’s chilling hes cool. He is a British institution of Cool Britannia before the term was even invented 👍🏻
Even after one million years from now it will be great tune !!!
Cool!Great trip-hop!
When I got to know this piece around me, my misunderstanding, depression and feeling guilty to be in another world, I wrote then "pain is my everyday life, nonsense is normal in pain we are born and we die in pain" but music gave me life so that I could continue to live ... ...
Timeless masterpiece 🔥🕺
simply amazing
I remember listening to this in the mid 90s going up on the motorway to London in my new old Daimler Sovereign series 2 doing some speed, letting the Jaguar roar.
first time I have seen this been listening to this album since 94
My first child my son was born when this first came out. He's now 23 and I've gotten him into a lot of great music that I listen to. For some reason the only leftfield track he knew was release the pressure. Thankfully I've opened his eyes his mind and his future by playing leftism in my car when I take him to and from football. I'm 50 yrs old now and I've got some great music from me being very young all the way up until 90's. Then it just stopped, the only music that I listened to after 2 thousand is from bands that were formed in the early to mid 90's or before that. Its a sad time for music in general now all we get is manufactured pop crap. We've started doing the same crap as they've been doing in America for decades. Why do we copy anything whatsoever from that country ill never know as we've always done a lot better ourselves.
Listen sleafords, slaves ,cap down. Just for eilish. Bully. Xx Billie
@@alextaylor7110 best new album I've heard in years Tool's fear inoculum came out s few months ago
Beautiful....forever.
It was inspection that got me to purchase Leftism, on cassette (kids go ask your parents), but this is my favourite off the album
Another classic tune from the Leftfield,Leftism album. Lush!!!
Still gives me chills!!
imagination & talent makes great long lasting music
2021 things will never be the same again!
Born in 1959 and discovered this 20 years ago, it fucking rocks,
Die beste Zeit meines Lebens!!!
maybe the time come back;)...
so far ahead of it's time, the whole album, proper original
If you think so you don't know anything about that time.
This song changed everything
An heroic song for the times of fear.
This track is amazing as are all of them on Ambient Moods
Leftism is one of the greatest electronic albums I own
¡Hitazo!
Powerful and beautiful ...Amazing to think how much humans have forgotten these words since this track came out. Todays greatest sin - individuality
@@jibbajabba4712 You've misunderstood what Mandie is saying. It's sinful to be an individual, conformity is what is applauded.
But....in today's world of double speak, conformity is disguised as individuality. So you're encouraged to have your own opinion, and people will applaud it with "likes"......just as long as it's in agreement with everyone else's.
Good luck to anyone who relies on their public image for a living to voice an opinion of their own.
Parawata knows how it works. The media's fake laddishness and staged spontaneity is one of the recent innovations that those with a soul could really do without. I congratulate you both on maintaining your sanity and reason - I truly mean this by the way
Fudge this is going back a long time......Still amazing
17 лет я искал эту песню.Это того стоило.
A beautiful track and as fluid as mercury.
What a tune🙏
Downtempo, trance, they can be anything they want, I like them.
Magic ☮️👍
leftfield is still a banger to this day !
Massive track from masterpeace band... and excellent production !!!
Brilliant!!!
Great !
i remember the day i got this on cd.epic experience then, still relevant now!!!!!!
dreams are fragile. if you treasure your dream, you will cherish it. if you dont, you kill it
This album was always on after clubs at a party
Its definitely up there mate. perfect production
Perfect
An epic track. Happy I found it.
One of the best electronic albums ever. I had a huge crush on Toni Halliday BTW.
My daughter loves this
this never gets old!:-D
Unbelivable!!!Невероятни сте!!!!
The 90's were fucking mint. Sorry if you missed it.
Yeah man, Was living in Western Australia, and left everything and went to Melbourne for 20 years playing music. The 90's was when we hit it. We had never seen anything like it before. The first night we were there we all dropped acid. Man, no one would believe that night. Helicopters with spotlights, crazy people, adrenaline. It was amazing. The 90's was an intense time of cool and originality. All waiting for 2000 to turn over and the world descend into computer bug chaos. The internet was amazing, so was the internet art, warez from radium, uwwwb, and it's endless. At times it was like the dark web was on the surface. Not to mention bubba zenetti's wild leech ranch. This music takes me to a time. In a sense, it was the MDMA time.
Darn tootin! 😊
😂😅😊 Nah GEEZER, dived (lived in it) and survived!!! 🤟 VERY MESSY!!!!
still awesome .... after all these years ....
Лучшие! Полный улёт!
Огромное спасибо!
