Lyrics
Burn, burn [Repeat x2]
Burn, burn, burn
Open up
Now open up
You lied, you faked
You cheated, you changed the stakes
Magnet toss that pie in the sky
Unrehearsed, let the bubbles burst
All in all, a dreaming circus
A fuel in the tea with parody
Tragedy or comedy
Probably publicity
Open up, make room for me
Now open up, make room for me
Lose myself inside your schemes
Go for the money, honey
Not the screen
Be a movie star, blah blah blah
Go the whole hog
Be bigger than God
Burn Hollywood burn, taking down Tinseltown
Burn Hollywood burn, burn down to the ground
Burn Hollywood burn, burn Hollywood burn
Take down Tinseltown, burn down to the ground
Down, into the ground
Burn, burn, burn
Burn
A Work of Genius. Banger of a track...
Johnny was like a prophet, he told us about Saville, the government, and even hollywood.
And duchass of su#ssex merch
He wasn't a prophet. He was an anti-Christ. He said so himself.
of course now he tells us in his own words that he never believed in anything he sang and it was all marketing.
Nothing but a grifter.
Try Jaz Coleman fae Killing Joke.
My dad used to love this tune, got a video of him raving to it before fucking cancer took him. Love you dad, you were cool.as fuck x
I lost my Dad to that shit your see him again one day take care X
What a great comment. I used to rave with ppl like your dad. Im so glad you understand how special this time was for some. I lost my mom to that crap, but the dancing kept me up.
Bless You.
My da too bro
May your dad still be raving on the other side. Rave on!
Proud to say my dad was into good music growing up,educated me with this and many more.Leftfield-classic 90’s ☺️
your dad is a very educated man you are lucky
Same here, was raised on Leftfield and KLF
Crap. I now feel old
Same here! I remember listening to leftfield, the orb, dj shadow, pink Floyd, many many other great music artists because of my dad.. and here I am 30 years old doing the same with my kids lol
my peer group im 59 now
I remember hearing this for the first time at a rave, I think it was Andy Weatherall in 1993! 30 years ago, and it's still a class tune!
I can't believe it's 20 years and this still sounds MINT!!!!!!!!!!!
It doesn't sound mint, feels like the 80s
@@godens34 You what son.
Quality, don't make tunes like this no more
2021 I love the movie Hackers. It was corny movie by computer standards and still is today but it is relatable and that is its win.
There is a remastered version...
Dear Leftfield. This should be the theme tune for the coming Hollywood apocalypse, the lyrics are almost prophetic & Johnny is exactly the correct man to be singing them.
Amen 😉👍
@@1111stories Right?
6 year old comment. How'd that apocalypse go then?
Thanks for posting this, I was the editor who spliced this together.
Excellent job Gary! imagery and movement edit fitted 100% - difficult to do, not to mention very time consuming!
A brilliant job!-)
I hope your still in a fantastic work of your talent.. Great work 👌
Brilliant.
Hats off to you sir . Great tune!
"Burn Hollywood, burn". Can't agree more.
West bam hold me back
the prophecy fulfilled 2020
lydon doesn't beleive in anything he sings. he's admitted as much multiple times as an elderly boomer.
@@j.c7719 you make it sound like we wouldn't do the same
Damn I was blessed to grow up in the 90s I'm 45 now and nothing can touch the 90s...ace cheers man❤
The words to this track is excactly what's happening today 23/07/23..John Lydon was beyond his time and here to teach us about the establishment and the nonces ruining children's and their families lives..Love him.❤🙏
The Establishment are male..Nonces are male.. Men are ruining children and their families. This is a dance track.... nothing to do with either..
Art in its truest form.
insincere?
The lyrics could not be more apt at the moment!!!
If only they were prophetic, maybe one day eh.
JUST POSTED IT AND SAID THE VERY SAME X X PEACE FRIEND X X
@@tonygarratt5832 THEY WILL BE BELIEVE XX
@@tonygarratt5832 ITS BURNING X X
This text could be accurate for the last hundred years to be fair
One of the best albums ever made
i have to agree, its still sounding as fresh nearly 25 years later
5 years late but I totally agree
@@eastgreenketama1 i can't believe that comment is 5 years old i remember writing it
Absolutely!
Leftfield are a different class
Leftfield & Johnny Rotten,what a combination!
Indeed !
It's lush genius, that's what it is
incredible
Now go listen to his collaboration with Timezone.. World Destruction!
Shane Berney: Leftfield & John Lydon.
Great song. John Lydon is a national treasure
He's still upsetting the brainwashed sheep to this day and it's brilliant :)
Still fresh in 2019
A piece of Art!! 🙌
Sensational track!! The "Full Vocal Mix" remix of this track on the single is insane. 9 minutes of Leftfield / Lydon mayhem.
I used to work in a club. After closing time (around 5am), we would crank-up the sound system and rock to this while doing the clean-up. Always got us through that hour when we couldn't be shagged and just wanted to get home.
Madness.
Epic
I am 59 years old and this is the music I have been listening to for years
I'm 63 now and still am as well
John Lydon is Brilliant..a genuine human being..
🎶
Gotta love him, he's a national treasure!
@@ruthmckay9086 Gorgeous man xx an ego matched in size only by his heart
Probably the "Greatest Living Englishman". If England had more like him, it would be a better place.
He knew about Savile...he knows about Hollyweird
John was sent here to give us a message and he has, only speaks truth ❤
Fkin masterpiece
some collaborations don't work, this is one of the best....classic
Greetings from Poland.
Saw leftfield play Leftism in full for the first time tonight, absolutely blew the roof off, loudest gig I have ever been too
same
@@shell1574 You lucky, lucky bastard!!! ;)))))))))))))
A good friend of mine presented me that album when it was released. That song was always my favorite. My friend has gone so many years ago, but I'm still listening to this album..
Why doesn't anyone make music as good as this anymore?
oh tons of great music like this is made. but you have to search more, the days when (then relevant) MTV aired great stuff like this are sure gone.
If you could provide some examples, that would be great. I long for more music like this.
Jeremy Welton you have to start following some less mainstream music media or blogs, there's zillions of it. tbh I haven't listened to that much fresh music either in past 2-3 years but when I turn on some good more alternative radio on or listen to some "best of year lists" it always leads to good discoverires. Run the Jewels are one of the projects that's been pretty good. for more experimental stuff, the new Tagaq album is pretty fascinating. but there are tons of stuff I haven't heard myself.
Don't get me wrong Karel, I listen to tons of unique stuff and I'm always looking elsewhere, I DJ for an alternative club,so it's part of what I do. But I'm always looking for anything with a nostalgic feel, especially if it relates in any way to something like this, hence why I asked.
Karel Zich underworld are still making great albums but as for new artists I do agree they,re pretty scarce
Classic! Dam I'm getting old, but this never will!
Probably one of my favorite tracks from my early days. The 90's were a great time to be around with all of the new and innovative music that was coming out at the time. We need another musical revolution to come about, as current music seems to be a bit stale
I just saw them live tonight, in Sydney, It was about as brilliant as you'd expect!
It's obviously written by "Jonny Rotten", what a brilliant combination, John Lydon and Leftfield, really gets you going.
I was obsessed with this song when I first heard it. I was listening to it for a few days on repeat and I felt like a maniac, it was giving me tons of energy.
New Year’s Eve at Megadog 1995 Brixton Academy, this came on as the clock struck Midnight, the place erupted! What an amazing memory. Love all the remixes just as much, we need more Leftfield Lydon collaborations.
Love it!! John is the best! Most intelligent, talented and honest artist I've ever seen! 😎🖤💜💚❤
Responsible for opening me up to electronic music as a narrow minded 17 year old in 1998. Cheers to that and the euphoria for the next 20 years
I played this album to death. Now I'm hearing it again for the first time in about 20 years. It's brilliant. I've never been a huge fan of electronic music - apart from sometimes at 3 o'clock in the morning in ratty old warehouses - but this album really stands out.
One of my fave tunes from the 90's. Good memories.
Johnny Lydon is an absolute genius and very versatile compared to what many people will give him credit to. And yes, I love the Sex Pistols.
I've been waiting for a positive comment like this! He's my hero. Don't forget P.I.L ❤
A national treasure and bang on with the lyrics, just listen to Ricky gervais at the golden globes last year. Burn Hollywood burn
A classic from back in the day.
I used to go to 'The Fiddlers pub' Down the way to Dagenham....
No longer in action 😢.
l play this in my car LLLoud!!!!
Epic time, epic track! 😍
loved this track then , still do now! glad i found it , a forgotten gem 👍
Pioneers they were. .only the next generation didn't expand the treasure material that Leftfield gave them...surrounded by utter shit music these days-have been for 15 years at least !Rancid Rock, R & B ullshit ,lousy love songs. ..just never ending.! At least I was around for some decent shit. .....rant over.
And five years later the mainstream's only gotten worse, fortunately if you know where to look there's still some decent artists knocking about!
Andrew our mainstream music is fuckin awful atm🤧 90s era of music will never be topped with the alt scene ( nirvana and smashing pumpkins) and electronic acts like this and underworld
@@beezlus_ there is absolutely brilliant music out there, you just need to tune in to different places, underground electronic music has never been so good, mainstream is utter BS since boy bands & reality shows took over main stream media
Yes, the last time Brits were relevant (in music, for the rest this is not the place to judge..).
@@beezlus_ smashing pumpkins hahah
This is why we love you john***
Still got the extended version on cd lol😂
Gold! Love Lydon in this!
legend need i say more been thru every age of music a true artist.
Johnny Rotten and a competent EDM band what more can you ask for as a 40 something
NO WORDS CAN DO JUSTICE!
There should be a second song with the title Burn Netflix, burn!
Such a good song, poetry and brilliance merged so well.
Lydon at his menacing best! Great tune :)
Class Tune, they don't make them like this any more.
Wow..can't believe I only just found this amazing music.
Just look at anything done by john its all great
Never too late for 90's treasures!
I was pumped full of E and A when I first heard this. How life has changed.
Sounds perfect 😛❤👍
Fecking brilliant
rocking back the years, fantastic blast from the past
HE TRIED TO WARN US
Wow! Love this!!
omg all these years i didnt even realise johnny rotten was in this. f****** awesome.
Saw leftfield playing 4-5 years back at festival and i was only one of my friends that knew them, but we agree'd about one thing. Their performance & music was the best that evening. Other were also very good, but they were super.
Album Leftism is a masterpiece
Johnny Rotten...no one like this geezer
From a Hammer in the East End to a North London Gooner...respect bro⚒️
Sex Pistols, PIL, Leftfield.. a logical trend in time, I think. Lydon did do a great and creative job and as always being his own all those years. I can't say that for most 'modern' musicians and one day flies..
Still Quality.. J.L.. Rocks..!!
Best thing JR has ever done.
kobathedread you meen John Lyndon
well this and calling out jimmy saville when the sex pistols 1st made it into the charts.... true legend JR
mr.lydon to you
....well one of them....he pioneered the great change in late '70s from mainstream prog rock with the best kick 'em in the head punk with the Pistol's classics and later with PIL many of their tracks are as good if not better for changing music forever
what a tune
This track absolutely stomps like no other.
after all these years it still remains top class
First blows the lid on Saville, then we see his prophecy of Hollywood burning down come to fruition
This video needs to be remastered and never be forgotten.
Savage!! Timeless
banger. one of greats
One word - Tune!
Fuck yes 90's music, so glad I was born in the 70's, thank you Universe.
Happy New Year to 2018, if you have listened to this tune it will be a good one
This tune is an absolute banger, so is the whole album
Now, more than ever I want to see Hollywood Burn Down To The Ground 🔥🔥🔥
The intro though wow 👌 best album ever made in 1995 and up their with best ever for ones music taste
1/3/2017 still fresh!
