I first heard this song riding my bike home from an overnight shift at my dead end job in college, 7 AM on a Sunday morning. I remember there were no cars driving the normally busy street, it was balmy and humid, but still cool from the night. I felt like I could go a hundred miles an hour with this song thumping along.
You're not kidding. It still stops me in my tracks and raises goosebumps... Fascinating storytelling with just a few breadcrumbs and some haunting melodies to follow.

I enjoy much of their work, but this is perhaps the best example of what they are. I always seem to come back to this. Dark, intense, moody....like a disturbing dream you can't forget.
Oh please stop this bs! This song resonates with you because its a good song that resonates with A LOT of people - NOT because your grandmother was swedish. Only US people think like this : "Oh i am 5% italian, thats why i like pizza." Dude, i like Pizza and this song too and i am neither italian nor swedish. Heritage explains nothing. It is our environment who shapes who we are. Also there are a lot of swedish people who don't like Royksopp because they are more into Death Metal or Kang Punk or classic rock or Hip Hop or whatever. Not all people in Sweden are listening to Royksopp all day.

Very sad man ! RIP
I'm sorry for your loss. ❤️
Sorry to hear about your loss.
Sitting on the balcony. The sun just went down. Far away, there are lights from the city but just very thin.. Hearing this song and watching the music video.. this very special feeling I get.. Can't describe it
In which country?

I clearly remember the release of that music video. I was sitting in my room and I started crying a lot like I lost or found something very important. I never cried again...
lyrics
It was me on that road
But you couldn't see me
Too many lights out, but nowhere near here
It was me on that road
Still you couldn't see me
And then flashlights and explosions
Roads are getting nearer
We cover distance but not together
I am the storm and I am the wonder
And the flashlights nightmares
And sudden explosions
I don't know what more to ask for
I was given just one wish
It's about you and the sun
A morning run
The story of my maker
What I have and what I ache for
I've got a golden ear
I cut and I spear
And what else is there
Roads are getting nearer
We cover distance still not together
If I am the storm if I am the wonder
Will I have flashlights nightmares
And sudden explosion
There's no room where I can go and
You've got secrets too
I don't know what more to ask for
I was given just one wish
Thank you..
Merci
Thanks!
Thx💖
Been listening to this non-stop since I found it 24 hours ago. Literally in awe. It speaks to me, like it was made as such. Amazing
It's surprising how it hits you like that, isn't it? I first heard it about 8 years ago, which is weird, given my love of Scandinavian electronic music, but it did the same to me.
Just found this song today and WOW im blown away by this amazing masterpiece
I found this from a covered version by Enslaved, this is definitely one of my favorite songs now, as well as 'Here She Comes Again'
This stuff is haunting. Every time I'm drunk, here it is for me thank you
haha....is quite amazing and unique song

The studio quality and arrangements are so well done. Her pitch and vocal ability is amazing. ......wow.
This is just incredible.. Totally unfair that this song took so long to be discovered, but now I will hear everything about this band and others from this country.

Check out "Seigmenn". Another genius band from Norway.
Wow. I can’t tell you what it feels like to find music like this, especially that old! Omg I missed so much!
After 12 long, tiring and frustrating years, I found this greatness
I hope you listen it very well to catch up the 12 years.
@@shishi82 3 min of it makes me catch up 30 years

It’s one of my all time favourites. Nothing as good as Royksopp.
I know exactly how you feel. It remembers me of my childhood where I would hear this song always on the radio. Quarantine and YT recommendations brought me here.

Been listening to this song for years and it STILL moves me as much as it did the first time I heard it. Very much a classic in my book, no doubt.
This song never gets old. Still fills me with the same chills as when I first heard it.
2006? Trentemoller Remix. No doubts about it.
@Mixael GT однозначно!
@Mixael GT соглашаюсь

I'm especially in love with her first album

@@nikostalk5730 Nothing compared to original version
That's a bold statement, and one I 100% agree with.
Here's one of the best magnificent songs I've ever heard, 15 years old and still simply magnificent.
When music is so good it keeps you coming back for more eleven years later♡
You're not kidding. It still stops me in my tracks and raises goosebumps... Fascinating storytelling with just a few breadcrumbs and some haunting melodies to follow.
Well I don't know what more to ask for. This song was my one wish.
Or even twelve years
Good music last forever.
Even 13 now!
Lyrics:
It was me on that road
But you couldn't see me
Too many lights out, but nowhere near here
It was me on that road
Still you couldn't see me
And then flash lights and explosions

We cover distance, but not together
I am the storm and I am the wonder
And the flashlights, nightmares
And sudden explosions

I don't know what more to ask for
I was given just one wish
It's about you and the sun

Why is it not in Norwegian?
@@pedromares2649 Because she sings in english...isn't she?
Tusen takk Røyksopp
Beautiful beautiful such nostalgia!! When she says wish I thought she was saying she was given just one week hence the stuff rotting away which means death.
@@NicolasF.Costoglou The floating white-haired girl is not singing, she is a Norwegian model. The singer is actually the blonde girl eating the apple and she is also Norwegian.

They really nailed this videoclip
I enjoy much of their work, but this is perhaps the best example of what they are. I always seem to come back to this. Dark, intense, moody....like a disturbing dream you can't forget.

Love it. I still replay this video. My grandmother that lived with me my entire childhood was Swedish. This just resonates eith me. ❤
