I was 34 when I had cardio myopathy. It means my heart is enlarged and the muscles on my left side of heart is damaged. I am now 52 and refuse to let this disease beat me. I'm not the same, I get tired easy and there are days I just stay in bed. Praying has helped me a lot. Stay young and live free.. life is short, enjoy it
I was passing by the São Francisco river in Alagoas, Brazil. This song was playing in the car and I had an almost mystical experience. This song has been marked in my head ever since. I feel chills whenever I listen. Gratitude. From Fortaleza, Brazil.
I was taken aback when working as a lifeguard as a kid when Peter Bjorn and John, "The Chills" played on the PA, then Hard Candy Christmas at another job, nobody pays attention to how dark the lyrics are.

And the combination of the song and the video, I just wish it could go on forever, and that I could be in there with them! I wish my screen could suddenly get bigger and engulf everything, and me with it.
I know when you first listen this song you don't feel that it's right (coz you haven't listened to something like this ever before) but then after one or two repeats, this is kinda crazy that this song goes deep into your soul subconsciously. You are stuck with this song forever and then you start to realize that what meaning it has. Beautiful depiction of life. No matter what are you doing whether sleeping or staying awake doing your job this monument 🏛 keeps playing in your head and soul. I know this is something I can't explain but this is happening to me ever since I discovered it. I want this song to be, "when I'm gone" song for me.
Yes it definitely is original and beautiful. To be honest, from the first time listening this song I did feel that it is right - well, it became an everyday song. Can't take my 'ears' off it.
No big deal, I've just bought "Junior" few weaks ago, fan of" the understanding " discover röyksopp I was looking for" what else is there" Karin dreijer, etc when it came out in 2002 no internet etc listen all kind of music, royksopp 👍. From France.
OMG!! i’ve heard some beautiful songs in my 67 years....but i think this is one of the MOST beautiful!! can’t stop playing this, and only sad that it’s taken me this long to discover it.👍😀❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am in absolute awe of this. The subtelty, depth, incantation-like quality... The creative and unexpected elements (her mouthing of words unheard, and the unexpected, smooth, dreamy saxophone)... What I love most is the feeling that it left so much unsaid.
I have my doubts... This song is wonderful, ethereal, transcendental... But tell me... How many songs does the group have in that same vibe? It doesn't even look like royksopp. I'll change my mind if you show me more songs in this environmental, ethereal, mystical, spiritual footprint... If all the songs were like that, they would be quite a group... This song and this clip is a philosophical.. work of art... the rest... it's just fun dancing songs
@@Diego_Curcino Why on earth would you want any artist to have all songs in their opus in a same manner? That is the beauty of Royksopp in particular, no two albums are the same. Melody A.M. f.ex. in one of the best electronic music albums ever made. Here's a few other gems to discover: eple, in space, here she comes again, if you want me, what else is there... I mean, do your homework man, wtf?
It's amazing what one can do with PLC synthesisers, Korgi Organs and Beat Box Electro Drum banks. All this gear was mothballed back in the late 80's. What goes around eventually comes around, age has excluded me from acceptance but I always love to hear artist's keeping the dream alive. Poetry, the rhythm of the body and sweet sounds are what it's all about. It's timeless. Cheers.
This song means something different every single time I hear it. It evokes so much emotion. This is a spectacular and well written song. Gorgeous. They collaborate so well. It really is special.
This may be one of my favorite songs of all time! Certainly makes my top five! I’ve played it on repeat literally hundreds of times. It’s just perfect!
I lost my dad last year to brain cancer (glioma stage 4). This song makes wanna cry every moment, thinking what the hell was going on inside his had before his last breath. I wish I could comfort him of all the pain and the terror of the unknown.
OMG I felt that. The truth, I believe, is you could not have truly empathized with him on his trip to the unknown, because you'll only know it when you make it yourself. But if he felt your love before passing, you gave him all you could, and to him that would have been enough.Love was the only and best thing you could give, and you gave it. You did enough, honey.😗😗💓💓❤
We know that the brain makes us feel happy when we are dieing, the "Heaven" feeling many that return have. While it seems very mean to say this, you shouldn't focus on the last days of his life, but the many years shared. The love doesn't go anywhere.
Io ho perso mia Mamma per un cancro al cervello... posso capire molto bene il tuo dolore. L'ho vista spegnersi giorno per giorno... sono passati 7 anni ed il dolore è sempre lì. Ti abbraccio da lontano😔

It seems weird that such a trippy video is not even about drugs, meditation or some religious experience. Robyn described this song as being "about death", "defining who you are" and "a physical sensation of an emotion," inspired by the Juliana Cerqueira Leite clay sculptures she saw at London's Saatchi Gallery. The song's music clip was directed by Robyn's frequent collaborator Max Vitali. The director explained that the video is about, "exploring the space around you and finding your own space in it all."
I love this song so much I would ask my family to play it at my funeral. Thank you so much for creating such a beautiful piece of music. I truly wish I could thank you in person and express how this song affects me. Thank you :)

You are correct sir....
Yes sir
Yes it definitely is original and beautiful. To be honest, from the first time listening this song I did feel that it is right - well, it became an everyday song. Can't take my 'ears' off it.
I must have listened to this song a thousand times and it gets better every time.
Same😍
exactly
It’s hard to stop 😂
A message to the future generations: "DON'T LET THIS SONG DIE" 💞👌😊👍
Music never truly dies. Sometimes it just gets lost for a while until someone else rediscovers it.
I apologize to myself for discovering this song 7 years late.
Lol me to
X 3 me to
Me too. 😊
Fully with you on the regrets
No big deal, I've just bought "Junior" few weaks ago, fan of" the understanding " discover röyksopp I was looking for" what else is there" Karin dreijer, etc when it came out in 2002 no internet etc listen all kind of music, royksopp 👍. From France.
I started watching in my room and I don't know where I am now.
AWESOME review!
OMG!! i’ve heard some beautiful songs in my 67 years....but i think this is one of the MOST beautiful!! can’t stop playing this, and only sad that it’s taken me this long to discover it.👍😀❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
BUT
you are such a cliché
Эта песня и другие этой группы дают огромное количество энергии !!!
Полностью согласен, чудная группа.
Стоило бы в начале понять кто им даёт текст, от которого надо бежать или начать борьбу. Подскажу АРХОНТЫ.

how did anybody create such a beautiful piece of art?
Yes.
Absolutely stunning!
Talanted beautiful Robyn and Röyksopp=magic💜
yes that's is mos
a youtube tutorial...
I am in absolute awe of this. The subtelty, depth, incantation-like quality... The creative and unexpected elements (her mouthing of words unheard, and the unexpected, smooth, dreamy saxophone)... What I love most is the feeling that it left so much unsaid.
For me, this is one of those songs that you kinda dismiss the first few times hearing it, then all of the sudden it hooks you and you fall in love.
Can’t undo perfection . Robyn #1 and only
'So when the time comes, I can say I did it all with love.' Beautiful and sad.
So make a cast, of my body...
Of what I used to be.
This will be my monument.
actually Royksopp is underrated duo....they are one of the best synth Pop producers in Europe
they're not underrated, they just don't need to dip in the american carnage
i dont like your mood pal , get out of here , this song is not for the aggressive kind of your ........pshhhh pshhhh ( angry cat noise )
Right up there with The Knife!
I mean, do your homework man, wtf?
i'm listening this song like a mantra. over and over.. feels like i'm enchanted with it.
It is a mantra )
Can't blame on you for it. :)
türkçe yorum ararken türk buldum :d
you should also listen to it with weed ;)
An absolute classic song to chill on a rainy Sunday morning with a coffee
Saturday rainy night 👌
❤❤amazing
It's amazing what one can do with PLC synthesisers, Korgi Organs and Beat Box Electro Drum banks. All this gear was mothballed back in the late 80's. What goes around eventually comes around, age has excluded me from acceptance but I always love to hear artist's keeping the dream alive. Poetry, the rhythm of the body and sweet sounds are what it's all about. It's timeless. Cheers.
I'm seriously addicted to this song. I've been listening to it for a week now
This song means something different every single time I hear it. It evokes so much emotion. This is a spectacular and well written song. Gorgeous. They collaborate so well. It really is special.
This may be one of my favorite songs of all time! Certainly makes my top five! I’ve played it on repeat literally hundreds of times. It’s just perfect!
This song makes me want to dance, and cry, at the same time.
Bro, do you even get high? Try that while listening to this song and get back to us.
🤍
that's true🌱💓⛅🌊🌳🌺

mohammed yousif What is this satanic garbage?
mohammed yousif same!!!!
this is neither satanic or garbage. attempt to reproduce it if you can. you are an ass.
james Keeling yes you are correct that you are pathetic.
I love Monument. Röyksopp got me through a lot of airplane time. So grateful.
This video brings chills down to my soul. Artistic genius.
No doubt.
I'm 157 now, still appreciate Robyn. was on her show once in 2011 when I was only 149

Tears flowed down my face because this is so beautiful
Music is art and only gets old in the minds of people who see it other than art...😎
Oh, im so sorry to hear that.
I feel for you but how lucky you are I lost my dad at the prime age of 2 weeks old not nice never met him but if you believe in jesus then the resurrection will fall in your lap may jehovah be with you sorry about your loss x
2019 where you at.. step your game up "artists" this is what music is and should always be...
Honestly, music has been getting better and better recently. After finding just a few gems this year (even of stuff that is kinda older) my hope for the future of music is 👍💞🤯
i can not imagine a more sophisticated way of expressing feeling of anxiety. this is pure art. this is the represantation of what david represents for sculpture, in music. times i listen this sing, are the only times i feel like it is still worth to be alive and still to be capable of feeling somethings. thanks people for creating music like this.
This isn’t about anxiety at all.
obviously to you, it is not.
To each their own
No one's interpretation is absolute
Nah, not anxiety at all. I have panic disorder and this song is one of the few thinga that calm me immediately along with Lyfjaberg by Wardruna.
Discovered MONUMENT in 2023 and can´t stop listening - it´s deep in me. Thank you for the music. + + +

I've found this song just in this days! ...I was taken away to another world across this MAGIC! OMG?? What is it?? The power of real music?? I LOVE IT!
If you like this video, I think you will enjoy the "What else is there?" video, from Röyksopp too.
for me, this song goes straight to my soul and awakens and revives it. it makes me feel alive again
Amen Kayla. What a wonderful way to say it. :)
Thank you for this. It's exactly the feeling this song evokes in me as well. :)
i keep saying "this is what my soul sounds like". i'm glad people feel the same way.
I heard it live yesterday in Katowice on Tauron Nowa Muzyka festival and I can't stop listening it. And listening to it live it was awesome, and those lights, wow! I'll remember it forever! 🥰
счастья и удачи Тому, у кого закатилась эта мелодия в самый край Сознания...Работы и денег!
6 years have gone by since I first saw this and it still remains one of the best (if not THE best) video clips I've ever seen. Few things have the power to teleport to other places like this one does. Love it 🖤
I literally feel one with everything and everyone when listening to this masterpiece.

I always listen to this when I'm on long flights. It makes me fall asleep every time. I love this song
2021 is the first time I hear this masterpiece. Thanks RUclips for finally a perfect recommendation 👍🏼
I love Metal - nearly exclusively listen to my favorite bands. And here comes youtube and suggests this song to me. The first time, YT changed my life for the better! o. O I dig that songs for whatever reason - won't get out of my head.
I frikkin love this song. It's a go-to when I need to shake off a slump or get moving. I always have to listen to it at least twice in a row.
Was just introduced to this song by a dear friend. It's been on repeat since...it's so mesmerizing.

The song I needed. The rhythm too. That floating feeling.
The first time I heard this song was when A-ha played it on their speakers when they did their concert at Scarborough Open Air Theatre in the UK in 2022. I LOVE this song! 😍
Make a space
For my body
Dig a hole
Push the sides apart
This is what
I'm controlling
It's a mold
The inside that I carve
This will be my monument
This will be a beacon when
I'm gone
Gone, gone
When I'm gone
Gone, gone
When I'm gone
So that when the moment comes
I can say I did it all with love
Love, love
All with love
Love, love
All with love
Make a cast
Of my body
Pull back out
So that I can see
Let go of
How you knew me
Let go of
What I used to be
I will let this monument
Represent a moment of my life

The more times I listen to this, the more I want to listen to this
It seems weird that such a trippy video is not even about drugs, meditation or some religious experience.
Cant say it defines lsd trip and death of ego can he? ;)

resonates very much with "space consciousness" as explored/explained by Eckhart Tolle
