  • 78 Questions for Christians
    Hemant Mehta (www.friendlyatheist.com, / hemant )
Is Anne Frank burning in hell? How about Mahatma Gandhi? Is Fred Phelps in Heaven since he believed in the divinity of Jesus?
Should a killer who genuinely repents at the end of his life go to Heaven?
Should a kind-hearted atheist go to Hell for all eternity?
Do kind-hearted religious people who just aren't Christian also deserve to burn?
Would you be happy in heaven if someone you loved was in Hell?
If your child were dying, and I hope that never happens, would just pray for them or would you take them to a doctor? And if you'd do both, which one do you think has more of an impact?
Whose prayers does God answer? And if it's ultimately His Will, why bother praying?
If you have cancer, what would help you more: Certain drugs, or prayer?
If you had an amputated limb, would prayer ever bring it back?
If you have an exam coming up, what would contribute more to a higher score: Prayer or more studying?
If you prayed for me over RUclips right now, do you think I would know it?
What matters to God more: The quantity of people praying or the quality of their prayers? If quantity matters, shouldn't the most popular team always win the Super Bowl? If quality matters, why do people you love sometimes die no matter what you do?
Is it possible that your prayers have no supernatural effect and only serve to make you feel better?
Would you ever admit it if that were true?
Is there anything in your life that makes you doubt God's existence?
How would your life change if you had serious doubts about God's existence?
    Was Jesus white?
Why does God seem more likely to answer the prayers of a talented athlete than a starving child overseas?
Why does God Seem to hate Africa?
If a group of Africans swooped in to your community with the intention of converting you and your neighbors to their tribal faith, what would your reaction be?
    Does God speak to you?
If God spoke to you and told you to kill someone, would you do it?
Is God always watching you? How about when you're on the toilet?
How do you respond when someone who's not a Christian tells you about their religious faith? Do you listen and consider what they have to say or do you just ignore them because they don't believe what you believe?
What do you make of Muslims who think the Koran is the true holy book? Are they wrong? Have you read the Koran? Why do you dismiss them so easily?
    Is homosexuality itself a sin?
Should gays and lesbians have the right to get married?
Why would God make people gay and then punish them for being gay?
If God's already sending gay people to hell, why do you feel the need to persecute them here on Earth?
Why does God playing hide and seek with all of humanity?
Do you believe Jesus is coming back to Earth during your lifetime?
If you do, what do you say to the many generations of people who have been saying that for centuries?
Why is the story of Jesus' birth and life so similar to that of mythological beings well before his time? (listverse.com/2009/04/13/10-ch...)
Is it possible that religion may have less to do with what's true and more to do with the circumstances of where you were born?

No. The only thing that will take you away from god (and heaven) is not believing that he is god and not asking him to forgive you of your sin. That’s it. So, if that lawyer didn’t do that, then he will go to hell, but things you do don’t determine where you go when you die.

Michelle Oregel Thank you for that response. It made me think about what may meet me after my death. But aside from that, have a legitimate question for you. (I’m not trying to start a debate, I’m just curious about the belief).
My question is: How can people who are fully, wholeheartedly
Good people-who DON’T believe in God or Jesus deserve Infinite suffering? How can that be just?
Maybe I just don’t understand fully, or there’s something I don’t know about the faith. But thank you for this interaction-you’ve got me thinking about believing.

Jupiter Glory to God ! You see God works in many ways and, as his children it's our job to help save souls from Satan . Now as for your question you see in the book of genius (looking In The holy Bible ) we can see that in the beginning God created Adam from dust, it can be hard for someone to believe a story like this but there's just so much evidence that we have to believe! Then seeing that Adam needed a helper so from his rib God created Eve they were the first people to come to live . They lived a perfect life . No sickness , no problems a perfect life they were in charge of naming animals that God soon created and even animals like lions where friendly ! Adam an eve were allowed to eat any fruit from any tree EXCEPT the there of knowledge of good and evil . But Satan in a form of a snake came to temp eve he told her the only reason that God doesn't want you to eat from here is because God doesn't want you to have as much knowledge and wisdom as him , eve fell for it and took a bite later giving Adam a bite to . They both disobeyed God . And suddenly sin was in there minds . God had to banish. Then from the land and and there punishment s were :Adam: you will have to surch and find your own food eve: there would now be pain during labor. Satan as the serpent : would have to slither on his stomach , think about that snakes could have had hands or wings or something !!! Also for Satan as the snake Eve's first born some. Will smash his head by stepping on him so now that we are sinners we allow so many bad things to happen but with God's forgiveness and accepting his will he helps us and those good people for example maybe an atheist who is a really good person bad things could and will happen for the hate of god that they have . They can't say they love others and not love God for God created all people for example that Steven hawkens guy he died saying horrible things to God at one point when he was just sick he was given the chance to repent but he didn't he was fooling to many people I think God knowing that we would never repent let his life end . Btw don't be shy to ask me questions it's a good thing that your interested in learning more ! You'll be in my prayers . Have a nice day !!!!!

    • @jupiter2448
      @jupiter2448 6 лет назад +14

Michelle Oregel Thank you for your response. And thank you for keeping me in your prayers. Again, I don’t wish to start a massive debate, that’s not my business here. However, I’m still a little skeptical. You said there was ‘so much proof’ of the story of Genesis. And I’m curious, How does anyone know for certain that everything in the Bible is 100% correct and truly happened? Is there a way to truly know for sure? Could the holy books of Islam be proven too? It must be similar to them as it is to Christians, right?
Honestly, I’m interested in if this stuff can be proven, that would be amazing to know, for certain. But, shouldn’t there be fossil evidence of the Garden Of Eden? Or fossil evidence of the Great Flood. I feel unsure. Again, thank you.
EDIT : just a side note, most Atheists or Agnostics don’t HATE God, but are just unsure of his existence. But it’s nice we’re having this talk, perhaps I will get to understand Christianity a little better.
P.s. I really hope I don’t come across as the stereotype of “I know everything and I’m smarter than you” because I don’t mean it to be like that. Thank you, once again.

I remember being 7 or 8 years old at my Southern Baptist Christian Aunt's house. She was sort of forcing me to do a "Bible lesson", and out of the blue, I just asked, "Well, if a baby dies, does God send it to hell? 'Cause babies don't believe in God yet, so they aren't Christians, but God doesn't send them to hell, does he?"
She was speechless and avoided answering my question no matter how often I asked.

    • @dimi1818
      @dimi1818 8 лет назад +52

Christianity teaches that nobody goes to hell if they don't know Jesus or God. So all babies and children that haven't grown up to the age to be able to make a choice for themselves to accept or reject God and Jesus all go to heaven. Hell is basically having no relationship with God. Hope this answers you're question :)

I'm not so proud of most of my choices, but because of those choices, and the results, I can understand that I know sin, because sin first knew me, and the Bible makes more sense. Sin is like a magnet, the more you indulge the harder it is to break away, until you can no longer hear God's whisper inside your soul, saying, "Come to me, all ye who are weary, and heavy laden, and I will give you rest! Matthew 11:29 "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Jesus did not come to save the flesh from dying, but the soul from eternal damnation. Contrary to what some churches may preach, accepting Christ has proven most costly to the flesh, but most rewarding to the soul!

Before I got on anti-depressants I literally felt, like, nothing emotionally, nothing was exciting, surprising, scary, motivational, etc. I would walk alone late at night not giving two shits if I was assaulted or anything. When driving I thought, "What if got in an accident? As long as I die and don't suffer or end up maimed then it's meh." Then I would think back to my Christian days and think about hell and all that. Thinking about hell actually got me excited, like, holy shit, if I die and wake up in a judgement room or in the flames of hell, I'm gonna be like damn, I didn't think the universe actually worked this way, magic is real after all. Like what a mind boggler that would be. I can't believe there actually is life after death! I thought why would that be bad? Supposedly I got all eternity to think about this now. It might suck at first but shit I'm still alive, no? After a few years i'd probably even forget I was made of flames and start admiring all the demons and shit. In my depressed thinking I was seeing the world so bland and mundane, ruled by laws and expectations. But thinking about there actually being a god and a heaven and a hell actually being true, I was like a stoner just with *mind blown*. Yeah this was probably not a smart thing to post on youtube comments. Oh well.

    79. People who actually believe in the creation story, I have a question for you.
Who wrote the story of Adam and Eve? Adam, Eve or God? Considering they were the only people around back then to write the story..... Oh and also pencils, papers, ink pens and other things like that weren't invented yet... Oh and how can you prove that the story is accurate because to this day scientists and historians haven't found any evidence of the garden of Eden being an actual place...

Exactly. God at first didn’t originally want it to be a religion. True Christianity isn’t a religion. It’s the way you live your life. You love and care for people. And you thank God for all the things that he has given you. And if you want too, You go to church to show him at least a little respect.
In fact that’s most likely why our world is so fucked up. Because instead of doing something that’s right. They do it for a reward...

The thing is that it's not that way and it will never be. Studies show that you can't put any two people together without some kind of conflict happening. And; should an evil person who is about to be executed for his acts get a pass into heaven by simply falling to his knees and begging God for forgiveness? And; how can I be expected to believe in a specific god when the only information I am getting about this god is being given to me by ordinary people who, in turn, received their information from other ordinary people?

Actually GOD did chose the “foolishness” of preaching of His exact word to save those that are lost. This means that GOD decided to use people to spread the message, but He also told us to test what we hear. Did you ever read your Bible, did you ever talk to GOD yourself to get an answer to your questions? Did you study GOD’s word?

How many atheists does it take to misinterpret the bible and ask a stupid question? One. The answer is found in the comment i am replying to. The bible doesn't teach that the Earth is flat. There's a verse in the bible that says something about the four CORNERS of the Earth, four CORNERS of the Earth meaning directions (As in NORTH, EAST, SOUTH, WEST.) There's verses in the bible that clearly state that the Earth is a spherical shape. We have verses in the bible that tells us that the Earth is of a spherical shape and we have a bible verse that LOOKS as if it is telling us that the Earth is flat, does this mean the bible contradicts itself? No. This means the bible is talking about N, E, S, W when it refers to the four "corners" of the Earth.

Weston pink Scriptures don't "prove" anything other than the fact that people had written them in the past. Your scriptures can have many different versions and interpretations from different other people, what makes your pastor's or your version and interpretation correct when there can be other people who can disagree and give another version and interpretation? Well the fact that people have different versions and interpretations proves that the scriptures you're talking about are unclear.

Why are there examples of some different interpretations of the bible? Gonna use the "they're not true christians" card? Well who cares if you did, it just means that there are different interpretations.
"Also, there misinterpretations, but scripture is actually very easy to interpret when you do it without coming in with any ego or biases."
---> Okay... let's see why some people don't like the bible.
From exodus 21:20-21 New International Version, source: www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus+21%3A20-21&version=NIV
      It says:
"Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result, 21 but they are not to be punished if the slave recovers after a day or two, since the slave is their property."
Is it safe to say that "beating your slave is okay unless they can recover after a few days"? If yes, well that's one reason why the bible is not trusted. Is there somehow another interpretation? Is there something left out? Well please tell me if I'm wrong. If you say that having a slave is okay, that would be a difference between you and other people including me.

Many religions think that hell is a place of eternal pain of suffering. That contradicts (I don't remember where in the bible) "God is love" . If God is love, would he take a human and put it in a place of eternal fiery torment? Hell isn't a place of fiery torment. In the bible (still don't remember where) it says that it is a grave for the dead. It's simply a grave for when you die. Jesus was expecting to go to hell after he died. 2 very good people (don't remember the names) went to hell in the bible.

But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. Aron 2022 - Why rely on a method that can take years, even centuries, when in the meantime so many would die without believing and thus condemn themselves to hell, according to the religion? Also why use a method which is completely identical to the way other religions spread, which would cause confusion as to whether or not Christianity is anymore true than the rest?

    • @TheDapperSwindler
      @TheDapperSwindler 6 лет назад +6

I didn't ask which method was used, I asked _why_ it was used.
*"So they wouldn’t be condemned to the pit of fire because they didn’t know of jesus back then, so they’d go to, if they were a good person, to the part without torment."*
Then why spread the religion at all, and risk people going to hell once they learned about the faith and possibly rejected it, perhaps due to a lack of evidence?
You didn't answer my second question as well... why use a method which is completely identical to the way other religions spread, which would cause confusion as to whether or not Christianity is anymore true than the rest?

    • @TheDapperSwindler
      @TheDapperSwindler 6 лет назад +8

If a god wants people to know it exists, why arrange it so that they're better off _not_ knowing, in case they reject it due to it being faith-based, thus condemning themselves to hell? That seems absurd.
*"Also how am I to know why god did anything? The bible even says we can’t know god."*
If you concede you don't understand this god's reasoning, then you also concede any claim to it being moral or benevolent, as by your own admission you don't know why it's doing the things that it does. You also give an empty answer that says you should probably question this more than you currently are.

What created the big expansion of the universe?
Why is the earth perfectly sized for the atmosphere if God doesn't exist?
Why is earth perfectly spaced out away from the sun?
Why is earth perfectly sized for gravity to have a perfect pull on us?
Why does does earth have everything perfect for mankind?
That's it guys, tell me your answers.
    Peace.

    • @TheBastius

_"What created the big expansion of the universe?"_
I'm intellectually honest to you: I don't know. The thing is, neither do you. Is it a problem for you to acknowledge ignorance?
The other questions can be summarized with two analogies, since they follow the same principle:
      - It's like a puddle that asks itself, why it fits so perfectly the hole it is in. In reality, the shape of the hole determines the shape of the puddle
      - Why is it, that your mirror image looks exactly like you? In reality, how you look, determines your mirror image.
The same applies to life on earth: It's a reflection of nature resp. certain natural conditions and events.
In a few billion years, our sun will make life on earth perish. Life on earth is some sort of in-between stage during the life time of our sun. Thus, life on earth isn't a goal of the universe as you imply it

TheBastius "I'm intellectually honest to you: I don't know. The thing is, neither do you."
Well at least Christians have a theory on how it happened. I believe that God CREATED the Big Bang.
Gravity remains consistent, a hot cup of coffee left on a counter will get cold, the earth rotates in the same 24 hours, and the speed of light doesn't change -- on earth or in galaxies far from us.
How is it that we can identify laws of nature that never change? Why is the universe so orderly, so reliable?
The greatest scientists have been struck by how strange this is. There is no logical necessity for a universe that obeys rules, let alone one that abides by the rules of mathematics. This astonishment springs from the recognition that the universe doesn't have to behave this way. It is easy to imagine a universe in which conditions change unpredictably from instant to instant, or even a universe in which things pop in and out of existence.
The Earth...its size is perfect. The Earth's size and corresponding gravity holds a thin layer of mostly nitrogen and oxygen gases, only extending about 50 miles above the Earth's surface. If Earth were smaller, an atmosphere would be impossible, like the planet Mercury. If Earth were larger, its atmosphere would contain free hydrogen, like Jupiter. Earth is the only known planet equipped with an atmosphere of the right mixture of gases to sustain plant, animal and human life.
Water...colorless, odorless and without taste, and yet no living thing can survive without it. Plants, animals and human beings consist mostly of water (about two-thirds of the human body is water). You'll see why the characteristics of water are uniquely suited to life:
It has an unusually high boiling point and freezing point. Water allows us to live in an environment of fluctuating temperature changes, while keeping our bodies a steady 98.6 degrees.

      theslyfoxthatcreeps
      TL:DR
Your post can be summarized with "Nature is so mysterious and awe-inspiring, therefore God"
      _____________
_"Christians have a theory on how it happened"_
"theory"... It's a hypothesis at best and another term for "i don't know" at worst.
      _"Gravity remains consistent,"_
Different composition of a planet, different gravity. In order for gravity to change, the planet has to change, since a planet's gravity is an attribute of the planet. Why should gravity change? Your "God" could intervene in nature at any moment, so it's you that shouldn't talk of 'consistent', because you can't account for consistency in nature with your "God".
_"a hot cup of coffee left on a counter will get cold"_
it deosn't get cold, it aligns its temperature with its surrounding, because it loses its heat. It's what happens when energy resp. the energy input gets lost/stops. It returns to its original state, so to say.
_"the earth rotates in the same 24 hours"_
hasn't been all the time during the life time of the earth. It has rotated already in a 20 hour cycle in its early stages.
_"the speed of light doesn't change"_
      Why should it?
_"How is it that we can identify laws of nature that never change?"_
Because we have the mental capabilities/preconditions for doing so? Persons who lack them, can't do this.
_"Why is the universe so orderly, so reliable?"_
Where do you see order? Doesn't it depend on the perspective from which you look at it? I hope you know what filaments are:
      www.mpa-garching.mpg.de/galform/press/seqD_063a_half.jpg
_"The greatest scientists have been struck by how strange this is."_
So, you admire nature, therefore "God"?
_"There is no logical necessity for a universe that obeys rules,"_
Nature is no courthouse of (dis-)obedience of laws. The very fact we have these "laws of nature" makes things in nature "obeying" them. Nature by itself has no consciousness so that it could decide "today, i don't wanna do this or that".
_"that abides by the rules of mathematics"_
Nature doesn't follow any rule. Those laws or rules are man-made constructs to desribe nature....they are descriptive.
_"It is easy to imagine a universe in which conditions change unpredictably from instant to instant"_
So you can imagine such a universe? Really? How would it look like? Could life or anything at all exist in such a universe?
_"or even a universe in which things pop in and out of existence."_
That's the universe you believe in if the Bible were true.
Your paragraphs with _"The Earth...its size is perfect. [...] Water...colorless, odorless and without taste, [...]"_ :
You didn't understand my explanation/analogies, did you? Go read them again.
      To your last paragraph:
We have animals with a changing body temperature. Your point is what? Other living beings live in different environments/conditions.
Why is it, that you only pick us humans..we are not the only species on earth.
Ever heard of evolution? Different conditions of nature, different attributes that animals have. What seems good for us is bad for other species at the same time and vice versa. Again: your point is what?

Gravity remains consistent on Earth, a hot cup of coffee left on a counter will lower it's temperature, the earth rotates in the same 24 hours 363 out of 365 times, and the speed of light doesn't change -- on earth or in galaxies far from us.
How is it that we can identify laws of nature that never change? Why is the universe so reliable?
The greatest scientists have been struck by how strange this is. There is no logical necessity for a universe that obeys rules that one planet follows, and another planet follows those same rules, let alone one that abides by the rules of mathematics. This astonishment springs from the recognition that the universe doesn't have to behave this way. You can imagine a universe in which conditions change unpredictably from instant to instant, or even a universe in which things pop in and out of existence.

The 1st question is the most ruthlessly important one and could also be generalized to include all victims of the Holocaust. Anne Frank was just another out of several adolescents finding their purpose during the Holocaust. But when you read her diary, especially if you too are a teenager, I think there is a good chance that you will be amazed to discover that you by no means are the first one to experience certain emotions and for me personally, it felt good that someone had such remarkably similar thought processes, even though I am an Indian while she was a German and we are nearly 76 years apart by date of birth. It would be nothing short of a crime against humanity to deem her worthy of hellfire, or any other Holocaust victim for that matter. Poor girl. What a lively soul she bore in her bosom, all just to be stripped naked in Auschwitz and possibly sexually mistreated by Nazi officials and die shivering 😢. But she will continue to live on and on even after her death, just as she wished to, and that is the greatest legacy: The Diary of a Young Girl.❤

I kind of think the question of "What would it take to change your mind about God's existence?" is a question that cannot be answered. I don't think anyone can gauge how much evidence that they would need to change their mind about something. As far as I can see, the question can only be answered accurately *after* someone changed their mind and the person can attest to what did it.

    • @exodiathecoolone
      @exodiathecoolone 10 лет назад +21

True. As an atheist, I of course demand hard evidence before I could ever say "Yeah, God exists". However, even if someone showed me video footage of a miracle with a great booming voice from the heavens, I have to admit that still wouldn't be enough.
I'd have to verify if the video has been doctored or if the entire thing were staged. Even if the video passes that step, how do I know that what I'm hearing *is* the Christian God? It could be trans-dimensional beings fucking with us, or aliens with technology so advanced that to our human perspective, it looks miraculous. If they predict future events with perfect accuracy, then I'd raise the possibility of them either outright causing the events or of having time travel capabilities.
So in short, this is me saying that though I am open to the possibility of the Christian god being true...I simply cannot imagine any level of evidence that would suffice to satisfy me. This may sound like an echo of Ken Ham, but just in case someone misunderstands: Ken Ham is closed to any other possibility and will outright dismiss any evidence that is contrary to his beliefs, no matter how strong, whereas I'm saying that I would have to somehow dismiss all other possibilities before saying "Yeah, Christian God".

    • @Sang15Mitang
      @Sang15Mitang 10 лет назад

It'd be very easy for me. Every single person in the whole world would have to have experienced god at the same exact moment in time no matter their location on Earth. This include, of course, me, all my family, and every person in existence. It'd have to be a shared experience everyone had that could not be written off as something else (thus why everyone is required to have experienced it, because there is pretty much nothing that would occur where every person in the entire world would be witnesses without some sort of supernatural cause). It'd have to be clear that it was from a god as well, not some other supernatural cause. And of course this is just for a god in general, not for a specific religion's god.

    • @x3naurus
      @x3naurus 10 лет назад +3

Sang15Mitang I was talking about the other way around. It's not too hard to gauge what it would take to believe the existence of something, but it's very hard to gauge what it would take to believe the nonexistence of something. This video's questions are directed toward Christians, so you have to think like a Christian in order to understand what they are being asked, and to understand the point that I was trying to make.

62 - Yes, I do find that strange. I also find it ironic that you also just described the attitude of most atheists in this question.
63 - A Mercedes SL is a car worthy of anyone's dream car list.
64 - Nah. I just let it slide. Not everyone is a Porsche guy like me, and that’s okay.
65 - People disagree on certain passages of scripture that are open for interpretation and, being human, they divide the church instead of just agreeing to disagree or finding common ground.
66 - They are not bad Christians or wrong just because they are in different denominations.
67, 68 - The ones that are the most coherent with scripture on how a church should believe and operate.
69 - Well, the word "natural" tells me that nature is responsible for them. They're just part of the natural cycle of the earth.
    70 - Yes.
71 - I can't answer for all Christians. Freedom of religion will be practiced in this country (USA) as part of the Constitution. Whether it's constitutional or not to display the 10 Commandments on public property shouldn't really be our primary focus right now. In this very video you asked why God doesn't do more to help the needy in the world, and I don't think fighting over displaying the 10 Commandments in certain places helps anyone.
72 - No. I believe in God, and I think our country is under God. The First Amendment gives you the right to say what you like, while also giving me the right to say what I like. If you want to say "under no god", go ahead. You have the freedom to do that.
73 - It doesn't matter. There are parts of the world still today where people believe in a flat earth. A belief that's unpopular in a certain part of the world doesn't mean it's false.
74 - Probably, but that doesn't mean Christianity is false.
75 - Yes, that's not only possible, but that's actually true. There was no Christianity 3,000 years ago. Jesus had to actually come to earth and establish it. Same thing with Islam: before Muhammed, it didn't exist. By the way, if I was born in Communist China, North Korea, or the USSR, I would have been raised atheist. Would that make atheism false?
    76, 77, 78 - No, childbirth is a natural process.
That should be all of them. Let me know what additional questions you have. As I've said before, these questions do a great deal to strengthen my faith, so I welcome them all!

    • @dinohall2595
      @dinohall2595 4 года назад +1

Fairly reasonable answers in this bunch at least--I haven't seen your other replies yet, so I can't speak for them. For 62, I would disagree with your prognosis that most atheists will refuse to believe in a god no matter what. I'm sure there are plenty--mainly anti-theists who believe a god *doesn't* exist--but agnostic atheism is based on the unavailability of sufficient evidence to believe in a god and is not necessarily the belief there is no god. The main problem I see with claiming there is evidence of a god is we can only observe the natural world, not the supernatural one if any exists, at least with our current understanding.

I can't believe that as an atheist, I never thought of "If you could go back in time and save someone from being killed, would you save Jesus?"
Where it anyone else,a Christian would say yes, they would save that person from being murdered, because murder is a sin (or could Jesus have been said to have committed suicide, given that he supposedly knew it was going to happen and did nothing to stop it? I thought suicide was a sin...)
However, would a Christian earnestly say if they went back in time, they'd stop Jesus being nailed to the cross? Their entire religion depends on him dying in agony, then later rising from the dead. Which to me, is only an indicator of how immoral and grotesque the religion is: it's most fundamental teaching requires the torture and murder of a man, and if you were to stop this torture and murder (something that in every other context, the religion teaches is wrong and a sin), you're somehow dooming humanity.
So anyone Christian here want to chime in...would you save Jesus? IF you do or don't, please explain why.

I understand your point, but it is invalid. It was founded out of the rightiousness of God. Once God saw all the evil in the world, he decided to send Jesus, who always knew he would die at the cross, but he knew Christianity was about more than just one life. Christianity was around before Jesus, just not like we currently know it (lazy Christianity). Therefore, a Christian should not save Jesus because he died knowing he would come back, whereas nobody else gets to come back. Its a strange and messed up situation, but thats question is always tricky

Question 45 is one of my favorites, although I'd pull back on the scope.
If God is ultimately going to judge and punish sinners for their sins, why do we bother persecuting them?

I'm so glad that you guys are thinking, and I will admit that many, if not most, Christians don't think nearly as hard as you guys do. I think I have some answers, and I would love to answer every question you posed in the video, but for time and comment space sake, I will attempt to answer the main categories of those questions, and the more major questions. namely, 1) will good meaning people go to hell if they don't know Jesus, 2) which is more powerful, prayer or works, 3)* was Jesus white, 4) how do you handle other people who don't believe the same things you do, and 5) where is God in this terrible world. I do apologize if I leave anything out, and if someone from the atheist voice would like to talk further, I will do my best to accommodate.
    1) will good meaning people go to hell if they don't know Jesus?
Romans 3:23 (if I remember correctly) says that everyone has sinned no matter who you are, so even the people who did more good than bad will, unfortunately, go to hell. this is why Christians should be extremely focused on missions, because obviously, nobody wants anyone to go to hell. The only possible way to go to heaven is to be completely righteous for your entire life and never do anything wrong, as God defines it. because of things like what romans 3:23 says, romans 5:1-2 explains what God had to do with his son, Justify Us. That might be a bit misleading, because Jesus doesn't RATIONALISE with god or try to explain why what we did isn't wrong somehow, Jesus instead lived the life we needed to live and then paid our sins by dying. Then he, by his own power, came back from the dead, and by that gave us a new method of going to heaven, believing in him and following him. So, to conclude this question (for now, as i'm sure there are more related questions you have), there only exist two methods of getting into heaven, live a 100% perfect life as according to God's rules, or believing in Christ and in Christ alone and obeying what He tells you to do.
2)Which is more powerful, prayer or works?
James 2:14 through the end of the chapter clearly states that both are necessary, and that it doesn't matter which is more powerful, both are necessary. If my child is dying, of course I would take them to the hospital, it would be completely stupid for me not to. but I would also pray for peace for my family, wisdom for the doctors, etc. Miracles have happened due to science, miracles have happened due to prayer. In fact, every miracle comes from God because science only models what we observe in God's world and relies on consistency in it to predict that if we inject this medicine here, this effect will happen. Prayer can have a two fold purpose, normally it is a way to talk to God and develop a relationship with him. When you have a question or a need, praying can also be an act of faith in that you ask God to meet said need. I have heard countless stories of science saying things like "this child will not survive the night", and then the parents wake up the next morning to "Daddy, I don't feel very good." In conclusion, prayer does not supersede works, works does not supersede prayer. Both are necessary.
    3)* Was Jesus white?
The reason I put the asterisk there is because this is a category of question that includes a many seemingly unrelated questions. was jesus white, can God create a boulder so big he can't lift it, would you know if I prayed for you, they all are answered the same way. it doesn't matter. Who cares if Jesus was white or black? we all (hopefully) know that blacks and whites are equal, so what would it change if Jesus was white? What would it change if Jesus was black? The validity of Hollywood? we should know by now that Hollywood is 60% CGI, and the other 40% is all acting. Who cares if God can create such a boulder or not? that is what is known as stupid. Who cares if you know if I pray for you, outside of good feelings? i'm talking to God, not you. I apologize for anything insulting, but it really is true when you think about it.
4)How do you handle other people who don't believe the same things you do?
I analyze what they say, see how much of it is true, and if I feel the door is open to evangelize, I help them to see the flaws in their own logic wherever I find them as respectfully and lovingly as possible, and I attempt to lead them to their own conclusion in right thought, and finally come along side them in friendship and help them as much as possible to change what they need to change and lead them down the correct path. Honestly, if I didn't think Christianity was logical, intelligent, and over all the right choice, I would totally be on your side. And I absolutely respect the opinions of others, even if I believe it is wrong, and where I see incorrect logic, I attempt to show them their ways for what they truly are. There's nothing wrong with being incorrect, but if you do find yourself to be incorrect, don't stay there. be willing to change, and be willing to ask questions and be willing to be incorrect. you're still human, just because one person came to a different conclusion than you doesn't mean they deserve to be shunned.
5)Where is God in this terrible world?
God is actually working wonders in this world, he simply doesn't get the spotlight. Things like the sick child in the hospital I referenced in number 2, believe it or not, happen surprisingly often. the biggest reason I would cite for you asking this question is that bad things happening make for better news. we live in a very negative world, so all you hear about is the bad. Many, many good works are happening, people are just preferring to listen to CNN than to these reports. as proof, my own school recently packed over 100,000 meals in one dedicated day for an organization called Rise Against Hunger to send these meals to a third world country (whose name currently escapes my mind), not only that, but we also in that day passed the 1 million mark for overall meals packed by just my school in total. I promise, if you truly want to hear good reports of what is happening throughout the world, look at some of the works done by missionaries and Christians. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few, as the Bible puts it.
I hope that helps answer some of your questions. I would love to talk with anyone from Atheist Voice who is interested, and I apologize for anything left out. I do ask however that any replies be constructive in nature and refrain from immature behavior. If you want a response, make it evident that you want an answer by being respectful and intelligent. I can't wait to talk to some of you guys.

epicdragon2104 wait wait wait I'm catholic but don't know jack shit of my religion. The first answer confused me tho. You have to live a 100% righteous life to go to heaven? How? But you say everyone has sinned? And how do you talk to god? Bitch I've been praying but he don't fucking answer!

DililyPoof all of us are sinners, because Adam first sinned, and therefore what God wanted originally was ruined, and therefore everyone has the sin seed in them, so they are not holy. He allowed Satan to rebel because he would not force, and he allowed Satan to tempt Eve for the same reason. So, all of us people are sinners, and each are deserving to go to torment. However, through Christ, we can be saved! The Holy Spirit caused Mary to have Jesus, who was sinless because he had the seed of God, and lived the perfect life that we could not live. And then he died for us on the cross, suffered for our sins, was physically resurrected on the 3rd day, and through him we may be saved, which is when he grants us the gift of the holy spirit. We cannot earn salvation, it is a gift that one must choose to take. And with prayer, God says 'Seek first the kingdom(righteousness, God's will), and all you need shall be added unto you. If we are seeking to please God and doing his will, then we will be given what we pray for, if according to his will. Lastly, you claim to be a Catholic, so I urge you out of love to visit this website. www.gotquestions.org/Catholic-questions.html
In it there are many questions regarding Catholic doctrines and Christian beliefs. Hope you do make the choice to get saved and be willing to live a life honorable to God!

Daniel Aispuro being granted 'superpowers' is not part of God's will, however prayer is effective if the one praying is faithful. I urge you to see the scientific facts in the Bible if you are not a believer ~ www.livingwaters.com/witnessingtool/scientificfactsintheBible.shtml ~ and I ask you to search for the truth by reading the Bible and searching, not with the intent to prove it wrong, but with the desire to know what the real truth is. Genesis explains some issues atheists often debate about, such as why God allows suffering, etc. The Gospels as well (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) are about Jesus's life on earth, and what he taught is found here, as well as in every book after the Gospels. Romans and Galatians focus on the issues of both salvation, sin, and how one who is saved would live after the Holy Spirit has been given to them. God is slow to anger and rich in mercy, so please, seek the truth. Be blessed.

Rich in mercy, huh? So rich in mercy that he so swiftly allowed thousands upon thousands of Jews to be slaughtered by Christians and Catholics, right? So merciful to just have dozens of wars on his name. Such a great God that he allowed the same people that commited injustices and crimes against others to gain full power and control of people. A god that is so merciful that he let thousands and even millions of "heretics" to be burned alive in the name of the Church and then he so willingly send them to hell for not believing in him. I'm sorry, compadre, but I'm not going to have some psycho of a god dictate me how to live MY life. Just have in mind that if we weren't from this time, you people would have had us non believers tortured and killed without question.
