- Sy Garte is a 3rd generation atheist. He went on to become a scientist and in his education, Garte found many inconsistencies between what he was taught as a kid and what science was showing him. Garte found that there were many things happening that science could not explain. This gave him the idea that there must be something beyond his education and earthly knowledge. Garte encountered Jesus in a vivid dream of his, in which Jesus showed him the door toward faith. Since then, Garte became a believer in Christ and is willing to share the story of his conversion.

@@karlostjuroukei1802 : The only things that have value in life are the things we take with us after our physical life has ended. We take our hearts and the fullness thereof. The only things that have value in this physical world are the things created by God’s hand: Humanity, planet earth and all its creatures. What we create with our own hands, though good and can be used to advance our species, it’s all perishable. Unless we are touching humanity in a ‘positive’ way we will be standing in front of God as worthless at the end of our time. All good things come from God.

Only human beings make judgement calls about things that are created by God, regardless if those creations are good or bad for human beings.

My Dad was a Buddhist for 30 something yrs.Although the chanting and practice did make him happier and many benefits I won't go into now,he became very ill in his last yrs.When he was dying he told me he saw Jesus when he was chanting Buddhist prayers.He stopped Buddhism then and there before he died.

I was an agnostic in my early twenties. While I was taking anatomy and physiology in college I also came across uncomfortable inconsistencies. I started to get the feeling that none of this was by accident. It still took many years before I finally opened my heart and mind to Jesus, and it was just as profound as he describes.
What was the tipping point for you?
@@arcguardian While taking A&P? Well, there was the shuffling of maternal and paternal genes in sperm and ova. Then there was transcription and translation Of DNA and mRNA. The precision of it all just made me think twice. I didn’t know enough at the time to realize that these processes can’t evolve-they have to work the first time or not at all. If you can’t copy DNA the cell can’t divide. Single cells would have to divide in order to reproduce, and if they don’t then there is no life. Later, listening to Dr. Jim Toure really cemented it.
I too studied the sci err nces in college and had the same conclusion. The complexity of both the macro and micro environments, its organization, and incredible functionality, led me to consider intelligent design and causation. It was part of the begining of a spiritual birth.

@@h91rex100 Exactly. Later conversions virtually always seem to be back to the religions of the culture that you grew up in. I have heard of a Christian converting to Islam, which is still unusual. When he said that he realised the man in his dream showing him the door had to be Jesus, I was thinking why couldn't it be Dionysus or just a man who works in a burger bar.
I was a hard nut, much like him, a proselytizing atheist, but it was based, largely, on accepting evolution: hook, line and sinker. One day, in my early 20s, I was walking through a field and - as we often do - plucked a twig from a bush, as I passed.
Upon looking at it closely, I saw that it was beautiful. In that second, my whole evolution AND atheism bubble popped. It hit me SO clearly, by pure logic. If there is a function, evolution could be used to explain it (even though the mathematics don't work: too many "lucky" combinations would need to happen even if you had hundreds of BILLIONS of years) no, but there is no explanation, in evolution, for beauty: null, zero, zipp! In that moment, without any preacher, or Bible or anyone speaking to me besides logic, I realized that beauty has to be CREATED by something that UNDERSTANDS beauty; that there MUST be s Creator.
THEN, I got a Bible!

I was raised catholic, I’ve always believed in Christ and God. However as most youths do, I strayed and for a very long time. I just recently started praying again after I ran into some spiritual issues in my life. The way God presents himself to you In subtle ways always shocks me. This morning I ordered some easy to understand illustrations of the Bible for my young son. I started thinking about my father whom never came with us to church. As that thought was swirling in my head, my father called me out of the blue from his retirement home and asked me for a favor. He then asked me for a Bible. I knew that meant something, and I cried.
I love his comment, "faith is a gift we just have to accept it". well said.
A Hindu, Muslim, Jehovah’s Witness, Sikh and many more can also use faith to try and rationalize their belief. Clearly, faith is not a pathway to truth.

@@Jonas-gl9ke Thank you for your question. Please read all of my reply before making up your mind. If someone does not want to believe, they will not believe regardless of the evidence or even the presence of miracles. Many do not want to believe because they want to avoid being held accountable to God for their transgressions against Him or they want to continue in those transgressions. We can’t escape God. All of us have broken His laws. Who among us has never told a lie or taken something that didn’t belong to them or taken God’s name in vain or looked with lust? When we do these things, we separate ourselves from Holy God. When we break a law, we must pay the consequences. No matter how many good things we may have done or plan to do, it does not change the fact that we broke the law. We may rationalize that we haven’t done anything that bad, but anything that separates from God (our life source) is immeasurably bad. The good news is that He loves us so much that he took our punishment on Himself thereby providing a way for us to be made right with Him and gain eternal life. All we must do is acknowledge we have broken His law and repent (say we are sorry and turn from doing these things) then believe that Jesus took our punishment on Himself so we might gain eternal life. This is when a miracle happens, and our spirit comes alive. We are made new, and our thoughts and desires change from wanting to sin to seeing how bad it really is.
Now, on to answer your question. I hope you will hear and listen. There are so many reasons to believe in God (who is supernatural) that it is difficult for me to just give you three alone, but I will try to give my top three.
First, logically speaking, it is not reasonable to believe that all of creation with its vast complexity and diversity was created by nothing. Nothing cannot create anything because it is nothing. Here is a poor analogy: If you came home and found a beautifully wrapped present there, would you automatically assume that the wind from a fan or a draft had blown the wrapping paper and tape together into a beautifully wrapped gift? Of course not, you would automatically assume that someone wrapped it and put it there for you. I say this is a poor analogy because the materials to create the wrapped gift is already in existence. God created the stuff that makes the stuff we see! That is supernatural!
Second, historically speaking, there were many times when God predicted the future. Only God can tell us a thing before it happens. Here is just one example: The Old Testament prophets (speaking what God told them to speak) tell us that the nation of Israel would be destroyed and carried away by another nation. They also tell us (thousands of years before the events happened) that the nation of Israel would be revived again and that the Jewish people who had been dispersed across the world would return. These two things happened after the prophecies. The Babylonians came in and destroyed Israel (Jerusalem) in 586 B.C. and took them captive to Babylon. For thousands of years Israel did not exist. Then, in 1948 A.D., Israel came back. It was a barren wasteland, but God made it bloom again. (metaphorically and literally). Jesus told his disciples that the temple would be destroyed and not one stone would be left standing. This actually happened in 70 A.D. when the Romans destroyed Israel. Jesus himself split time in two (B.C and A.D.). It is amazing to me how Jesus changes everything.
This leads me to the third reason. Jesus changes people in miraculous supernatural ways. I’ve seen this happen to people today, it happened to me, and it happened to Jesus disciples. His disciples were terrified after he was crucified. They were hiding out and laying low, afraid they would be the next to be crucified. But the amazing thing is that their actions changed after the resurrected Jesus appeared to them in His own body. They suddenly began teaching in public about Jesus. Now, I don’t know about you, but I would not be willing to be crucified for something I knew was a lie. The change in the disciples tells me that they experienced a miracle when they saw the resurrected Jesus. He can give you your own miracle by making you a new person with a new heart and mind. Let Him in. He loves you. He has only good things to offer you.
Jesus also came to me in a dream. He is truly God truly supreme. He bends my knee with his love and mercy. He is my King

I know ppl don't usually make jokes here, but when I saw the word knees as I scanned the page, I got pretty excited because, like many seniors, my knees are shot. I was anticipating Jesus fixed your knees, and I couldn't wait to read that you had been blessed with healed knees. I actually do turn to our Saviour for healing as I am wheelchair bound and really miss being able to walk and garden,cook, and even clean house. I'm 70 years old and have heard quite a few testimonies. This one has to rank near the very top of the list. Very sincere and touching. His straight forward approach makes him so likeable and maybe that's part of the reason why.

Yess! As an engineer, I also love this understandable, clear and honest way, how people talk, who are acquainted to natural sciences. Sooo easy to understand. Like Jesus, a high profile wood- and building engineer! God himself chose to be a colleague.

I'm going to 70 this September and i feel the sane way you do about this testimony. It had a ring of truth about it I've never heard articulated in such an honest simple way. Just let go.
I was raised in church and I called myself an atheist after I had been baptized several times and said the sinner prayer at least a hundred times. It wasn't until October of '04 that I got on my knees at my couch and prayed like I never had before and asked God to forgive me and help me that I became saved. I started listening to Christian music, listening to preaching on RUclips and radio and I haven't been the same since. You have to truly believe and seek Jesus to become saved. It's not about saying simple words. God wants your heart. ❤
The human mind is capable of making a lot of convincing connection if one really work on thinking something is true. I believe its called fake it till it makes sense. This can be a very used to start... well perhaps not so much believing as deluding oneself to thinking anything is true.
Even just trying to smile as one goes about once day alone is enough to think and feel happier. After all, smiling is what one do when happy, so just smiling starts various brain functions related to being happy.
What I wonder about though. You probably know that those of other religions believe and have just as powerful feelings and experiences of their religion being the true one and that they are on the right path. Do it not disturb you to think that if you lived your life spending the amount of time you have dedicated to hinduism for example. That you likely would have had a similar experience just flavored to fit hinduism rather than Christianity? I know you think those are false religions and your is right. But obviously you would feel the same if you where into hindusim.

Separately I do wonder. If you did not actually believe in god. Why would you bother saying a sinner prayer. Was the basis for your atheism simply that you believed in god but found some stuff hard to buy into? After all, its not as if ateists can not believe in all sorts of supernatural nonsense, but the one thing they do not believe in is gods.
I suppose I can pray to Allah and ask if he is true then prove himself to me. Perhaps fix my car and plant some crops for me tonight. But its impossible for me to actually believe Allah to do any of that any more than if I asked a dragon or vampire to do so.

As for Christianity. I can not help but wonder. If you got involved with atheists who for example talked about the bible. Have you managed to rationalize all the horrors of god in the book. For as you may know. As an atheist who was formerly christan, and who has read at least large parts of the bible. God seems really bad. I do not think we have made many fictional beings worse than god.
So if you where an atheist. Why would you want to start believing such a god is real. If I somehow started believing in christianity to a degree again, I would likely try seeking satan or something before I would try god. If only to get a different perspective from a different character. Perhaps there are some other super beings one could get protection from that are not as dangerous hidden in the setting.

Light travels over 186,000 miles per *second* (almost 300,000 kilometers per second), & yet, even traveling *that* fast, it would *still* take light about 1.4 *Billion* years to go from 1 end to the other end of just *ONE* galaxy that mankind knows of, which is just the largest one we know of *so* *far.* And yet, some people want to say what *they* think *God* should do or what *they* think God should be like. Well, that's just people trying to create a human construct. Nothing upsets God more than people treating other people badly. When Jesus came to Earth, it was like a love-letter to mankind. You're being rather ridiculous to say that basically because you think God isn't good then you would rather seek out the being that is literally known for being the absolute embodiment of all evil. I have been a Christian since 1976 and your is one of the most honest, touching, and sincere testimonies I have ever heard.

It really is, isn't it? You can see by his tone and how he looks, he has been humbled, he almost looks apologetic like he knows he was wrong. These kinds of testimonies from hard core atheists, and not just some smart college student atheist who doesn't know what he's talking about but somebody raised in a 3rd generations of socialists/communists, who had his entire life and culture around him, coming to see. quite amazing his story but I know there are many many others.
The oldest most evil scam is to tell people that they're born in sin and there's a better place after death, but to be saved a spot they must repent and believe the story that someone was sacrificed 2000 years ago to forgive their sins.
I've also been Christian since 1976. That's the year I was born. I can't imagine my life without God and Jesus. They have shown me more love than most people in the family of my youth.

As it turns out, the jesus character portrayed in the Christian doctrine (a Greek manuscript) has been a carved image of all sorts for over two millennia now.

Dawkins’ “Best Evidence for Evolution” disappears before his eyes.
Famous Evangelical atheist Richard Dawkins used to teach that the “best evidence for evolution” was that organisms; which were similar to each other have similar DNA. This is pure supposition and absolute speculation driven by a passion to obliterate God from the equation of life. Richard Dawkins claimed that genetic research proved Darwin’s tree of life; nothing could be further from the truth. These claims were made before we learned more about DNA and RNA and in 2009 he got his book published: “The Greatest Show on Earth” in which he taught that Darwin’s Tree of Life was supported by the pattern of resemblances, that you see when you compare genes. The fossil record does not support Darwin’s Tree of Life, because there is no evidence of transitional fossils in the actual earth’s geology demonstrating evolution. There is no evidence that plants and animals diversified from a Common Ancestor over millions of years, being due to imaginary evolution. In 2009, the same year, New Scientist magazine ran an article with the title: “Why Darwin was wrong about the Tree of Life.” In it, scientists stated that the Tree of Life was “mis-leading” because Darwin’s theory limits and even obscures the study of organisms and their ancestries end of quote. The “best evidence for creation” is the fossil record, finding only fully formed organisms in Cambrian rocks. Our technology has advanced to such a stage that we can now “read” the genes of many different species and it is even clearer now that Dawkins’ “Best Evidence for Evolution” does not exist. Now scientists have sequenced a great number of genomes belonging to different organisms. Casey Luskin, Associated Director of the Center for Science and Culture, wrote for Evolution News, that Dawkins was wrong! Every gene does not deliver approximately the same Tree of Life end of quote. DNA research does not show a Tree of Life. But what is described as “bushes of life” meaning no branching as in Darwin’s Tree of Life, but organisms that reflect the fossil record throughout time with minor variations, these are attributed to kinds within species due to genetic variety until they went extinct. “Genes are dissimilar in their development and unique as they form into the embryos of different organisms. Ernest Haeckel German scientist tried it on; by drawing fraudulent embryos making them look alike, because he loved Darwin’s theory of evolution. At the University of Jena he was convicted of fraud in 1875. When asked why he had lied, he said it is necessary for us to believe in spontaneous generation: that everything made itself by random chance, because the alternative is Creation and that is unthinkable! A lot of people have a similar mind-set today, this is why evolution will not go away as a theory and be buried. It should be disqualified by the “scientific method” today, but there is wide spread indoctrination through the education system with the theory of evolution which should be abandoned, because there is no evidence to support such a theory which has outlived its usefulness. The indoctrination of evolution through the education system is a “back door” to promoting immoral behaviour within the populace. This is the aim and plan of the globalists to bring about chaos, anarchy and confusion, in short lawlessness, whereby they have a legitimate reason to use modern technology to mark and control the masses. It is simple, if you teach students there is no God to answer too, then why bother to behave! Create fear among the populace and they will be happy to except electronic monitoring by those in authority, but first they must create the environment and the people will look to those in authority for a solution: it is called Cause and Effect. The general public need to waken up and smell the coffee as there is a lot of corrupt manipulation going on by the elite billionaires, who are now controlling bank accounts, politics and the education system, where people are taught what to think, not how to think critically. There is a desire to take away your freedom of speech in relation to telling the truth.
Jesus & authors of Bible believed slavery is moral & even suggested how to buy, sell & beat the slaves, and not to treat relatives the way slaves are treated. Not a single Bible verse suggests that slavery is immoral & should be abolished.

A friend of mine was born to a wicked mother. One night when she was 4, she was thrown into bed. As she lay crying, Jesus came to her and comforted her. She did not know who he was, but became a Christian in her late teens.
I'm prayerfully hoping that your dear friend had repented and believed the Gospel of Jesus Christ while in her late teens, for there is no other way for a person to get saved and thus receive eternal life!❤

I was raised in the Catholic faith, I went to church every Sunday, I always tried to be good to others and so and so, but it was until I got married that I started to really get a closer look at my faith. At one point, my husband and I were in a hard situation and I was worried sick I was walking to church with my 3yo son immersed in my worries when I heard a beautiful soothing voice that said to me: Why are you so worried?? Didn´t you put everything in my hands?? At that moment I stopped walking and I remembered that months ago I went to church and said to Jesus: Dear Lord, you know me, you know that my husband and I want to do this, please help me, help our family. I put everything in your hands!! I forgot about that until He reminded me 😭😭😭 I NEVER doubt Him again!! We don´t deserve God´s love (especially in my case) still I´m so thankful every day and I want to be the best that I can be to repay Him for all the blessings that I receive all the time. Life is not easy but knowing that He is there for you makes it better, stronger, and happier. Your testimony made me cry because you and I are not the only ones. Dear Jesus, please go and find your little lost sheep and bring them home!! Amen.

Dreams can sometimes be powerful... I had a supernatural experience when I was eight only years old , (after having gone to sleep one night), of seeing Jesus in heaven, which was by far the single most profound experience of my life, for there I felt a love in a way I never felt before! There I was in heaven surrounded by brilliance, and Jesus stood across a river clear as crystal gazing into my eyes, and I could actually feel His love surging through my entire being! This experience had stuck with me over the years, and in difficult times when I feel I need more love, I go back to this experience in my mind.

I was an atheist until I was 19. I'm also very scientifically-minded and a hardened skeptic about many things. I called out to God in a dark place in my life and said, "If there is a God, I need help." And the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ showed up and helped.

@@watchandjewelryloft4713 He showed me He was real. I literally felt His Spirit and became a believer in that moment. I had not known Him at all until then. For an atheist, that in itself is a tremendous help.
Even though I spent years being fearful of my sins as I started to read the Bible (and I repented often), it was life-changing to know there was a real God who cared enough to listen to me.

What an amazing testimony! I also grew up with atheist parents and God saw fit to reveal Himself to me in my early twenties. It’s only by His amazing grace that I am a believer to this day now in my 50s. He has been faithful and kept me through all the struggles and toils of life including the death of my youngest son Josh last November. That’s him as my YT pic. I know where my son is though and Who has him and we’ll be together again soon enough. Thank You Lord for your grace, mercy, and faithfulness. What an awesome Savior we have! Jesus! King of kings and Lord of lords!

I'm sad to hear of your loss but so blessed to hear about your faith
And here i am given signs and visions yet still angry at him because He took my mother away. But now, it's all ok... I accept that everyone has their time and every loved one has lessons and messages before their departure. I now believe that, whatever mission my mother had in this life, She accomplished it. Now that i think about it... When i was begging God to save my mother from death and asked him to at least give her time to be with me in the coming christmas and new year, She was given that (time). When she woke up from a 5 day coma, she told me that I owed her life to god, which was incredible because she was still not fully conscious at that time, so how? She passed away back on January 29th just before the 2nd month starts... And that too was a testament that god is real.

There are certain things that, if you experience them, as millions of people have experienced them for thousands of years, then you will know what we mean. For me, in my grownup life, it began when I started including prayer to God & Jesus (Y'shua) in my life on a regular basis. Because I started doing that, I was taken by surprise that God started showing me things in dreams. There was a direct correlation. They weren't regular dreams. Also, the source of them was external to me. It was definite & it gradually became more over time. Later, it went beyond dreams to even more amazing things happening that I never expected - things that some use the word 'supernatural' for. (I've never 'done drugs,' etc. I'm well-educated & level-headed, etc.) Not that the point is to have 'supernatural' experiences, but it's truly amazing!
Jesus doesn't force himself on people. He said "I stand at the door and knock." All you have to do to start to open that door to that journey is pray to Jesus with a *sincerely* open heart & open mind. You can tell Jesus that if he's real then you want to know it, so please let you know it. It just has to be sincere - you just have to be open to the possibility of it with an open heart & mind. As Jesus said, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." (Matthew 7:7.) When it comes to this subject, don't just use your mind - also use your heart. Also, do yourself a favor & read a modern-language, red-letter edition of the New Testament with Jesus's words in red, as soon as you can, to learn Jesus's teachings & ways. I recommend the New International Version (NIV). I'm not saying that the Old Testament isn't important, but you could read that later. Jesus often meets people 'where they are' (so to speak). The most important things about Jesus's life are him teaching that we have to love God & love others as ourself, that we cannot hate others or hold resentments or unforgiveness towards *anyone* - and that we have to go to God & Jesus in prayer & sincerely repent of our iniquities (sins), ask God's forgiveness, & invite Jesus into our heart & our life to be our Lord & savior. The most important thing people in this world have is their soul, & truly the most important thing regarding our soul is what will happen to our soul after our life in this world. Not that our life on Earth isn't important, but eternity is even more important.

Our creator (God almighty, the father) sent prophets and messengers to mankind throughout history to guide them to the straight path, Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Jesus and the last and final one Muhammad and many other prophets (peace be upon them all) and sent with them revelation (Psalm, Torah, Gospel and Quran).

( I am a fellow Believer, BTW, who does love my Brothers/Sisters in the Faith. ) We humans are not pure, infallible, righteous in our own doing, are guilty of "sin", BUT to say we are not "worthy" crosses the line into non-sense. Why wouldn't our God ( who we say amongst ourselves: "God is Love" ) STILL love us ALL the more as human fathers and mothers love their children, despite their errors and sins and going astray? So, I get it when Christians mean well in trying to be humble before God that we are not "worthy" of His Love, especially when dealing the topic of Sin and Judgment, though why aren't we also emphasizing the immense Mercy of God as well? Yes, no one can "boast" before God that THEY are "worthy" of His love, but....God loves the world SO much, too. I prefer to emphasize His profound love for us. I've seen the net effect of Christians who emphasize not being worthy of His love and it leads to a deeper sense of shame. Which is the exact OPPOSITE of what His love ought to bring to His cherished son's or daughter's life.
@@machtnichtsseimann We are worthy through the Blood of Christ as He died for our sins and our faith wipes our sins clean through Jesus.

🎉I know that feeling you had when you said "I believe". Aug.27,1977, potentially facing two life terms, asked God to forgive my sin. A "boulder" was lifted off my back, my blood pressure came down, and I fell into the most peaceful nights sleep I had ever had. Life has not been the same since!

@@HIIIBEAR Do you base your life on 100% evidence? I don't. I don't have 100% evidence that the food I eat doesn't have poison. I don't have evidence that what I'm seeing is real, even. I just have faith. Faith is not the lack of evidence or the opposite of evidence, it is just merely trust. It just seems weird you only apply the evidence argument to God, but nothing else.

Truly, there are things that millions of us have experienced, & if you yourself were to experience some of those things, you would understand what we mean. Some things are way, way too much to be a coincidence. It starts with just having an open heart & open mind to the possibility. I've never 'done drugs,' etc. I'm well-educated & level-headed, etc. Truly, I hope that some day you will just give Jesus a try. You know yourself, right? Do you trust yourself? *You're* the one who can judge if something that happened really happened to you. That's how it is.
@@AJ-yw7hf When God, “answers your cry”, you need a way to know the mechanism by which your “cry was answered”. If it is anecdotal, as you suggest, your experience is no more valid than a Muslim, Jehovah Witness, Freemason, Hindu, Buddhist or Jain. Basically, when value and truth are distinguished, any set of beliefs that leads to perceived value can be seen as true by the believer but this is fallacious. You need a way to falsify your claim or else accept the “truths” of other conversion experiences.
If you are well educated and level headed as you claim, you must have a method that rules out well known psychological phenomena such as confirmation bias, crowd conformity, priming, ASMR, frisson and more.
