I'm ded, thanks Steve.
LMFAO. Thx for pointing that out. I laughed for a solid 20 seconds after seeing that
Welcome back to hardware unavailable

@@w1n1x nah mate
I love hwu
Sold out.
That killed me
Does anyone else miss the ridiculous old vega 64 red devil design? That thing looked wicked!
Powercolor has been making great products from that era till now, very impressed with them.
@ExalyThor why trash GPU?
@ExalyThor Trash GPU? I thought in today's age there were no bad products, only bad prices (Vega was too expensive at launch but then it mined well so go figure), and so on that front all current GPUs are bad :)
I bet if AMD sold new Vega64 GPUs right now, at their original MSRP, they would be sold out in minutes regardless.
@ExalyThor Only now its faster than a 1080 🤷♂️
@ExalyThor I don't think that it's the miners to blame for the problem, sorry to say it AMD that carry the biggest part of the problem. You can't remember get ( nearly impossible) an amd card in Denmark, even the rx570 cost over 500$ in a store. They stop producing there old series, and could not deliver enough of the new ones, it's plan and simple.

Are you like that as well?
Ahh yes, Hardware Unavailable, a reliable source where we can get the review of upcoming pc components somewhere in the future.
@THELEFTAREALLBIGOTS PROVEMEWRONG It doesn't have to be original to be an opinion. Prove me wrong.
Here after watching GN’s video on HUB getting shadowbanned by RUclips, I didn’t even realized that, sorry for not realizing it sooner guys
I hope the shadow ban goes away and ya guys start uploading again
They truly are Hardware Unavailable now.
Came here from GN’s video. Hope your channel gets sorted out.
Ahhhh, the mythical Red Dragon... Flying flying off the shelves before 'twas ever seen.
nah is just deep fake:)
THANK YOU for taking the time to pull cards apart, and giving a full review of the card. There's more to the card than just how they look, their FPS, and how they run when you first plug them in. My only complaint (I know, availability is tough these days) is that you don't have more versions of each card so I can have a better-informed buying choice!
Rolling shots, camera work, and b roll are top notch this episode. Well done. Production quality has been truly professional the last year and you guys are only getting better.
"At or near the msrp"
Man, hardware unavailable has the funniest jokes
Edit: To be clear, i love this content and even if i cannot get it now, i might get it later and i enjoy watching their breakdowns.
Yeah. But think about it, if it would be Available.. Price Tag: 900-1000 $€ etc.. 🤔 🙄
@@vsammy_poet not here in oz 1399 for gigabyte crap
How big can the dag file get? nah but seriously what's the hash rate after an undervolt ? Im kidding LOL
@THELEFTAREALLBIGOTS PROVEMEWRONG i know its not but here in oz a gigabyte card low end cost 1399 dollars that was my point sorry you don,t understand maybe you have a low IQ
inflation due to printing money and lockdowns, record debt. and not enough production and part shortages if you cant get the parts to make enough cause it causes too much cause of inflation
These imaginary GPUs look nice
welcome to AiR UnBoXeD
Yes like printed and digital money have value out of thin air. It is the same. What gives money value and GPU is believe that it has worth. Sad but true.
Even better: me imagine actually playing with them ... No availability no problem. In my mind I am free.
😂
It’s not imaginary. I have one of these among many others.
Thanks for the review, the Red Dragon is indeed the version of the 6800 that I'm interested in so its nice to see that Powercolor build a card thats not only considerably more efficient then the reference card but also faster. Really well done I'd say. Also, I really like the design of the Red Dragon cards, that was one of the reasons I picked the 5700 red Dragon back when that came out. They have a nice and simplistic look with some nice details.
I have this card! DEFINITELY WORTH IT if you can find the RX 6800 and resell your GPU at current market price.
Thanks for the reviews Steve. I'm looking down the road to purchase but actively watching all comparisons and appreciate the insight - cheers!
I can't speak for the entire viewership Steve - but I feel like the majority of us have no problems with you & Tim reviewing items regardless of availability issues. I only say this because I know there is a vocal minority crying out about their dislike of reviewers reviewing GPUs which are constantly out of stock. We, the consumers, are put in the best purchasing position possible by becoming well-informed. Content such as your detailed reviews goes a long, long way to help us achieve the goal of being informed. Keep 'em coming Steve.
Well said. I rather do all my research now and then buy them when they are available. It’s not like money is literately burning a hole in my pocket
Definitely agree. While the GPUs stocks shortages are frustrating and annoying for all of us, a well made video review is always welcome and the frustration from gpu stocks shouldn't be directed towards reviewers.
I agree with you. Also sad to see the impact of all this on Steve's delivery, he seems uneased and out of character from his usual self.
It's baffling that people think the dozens, literally dozens of GPUs handed out to reviews are causing all the shortages and not because of the 1000's of GPUs being sold directly to scalpers and miners causing it.
Well said
Thanks for the continued in depth reviews. They are as always very informative and very valuable as a consumer. A few retailers in the UK had some 6800 and 6800XT models available, though way over msrp. Went for the PowerColor Red Devil 6800XT based on your day one review of the card which was positive. Strangely the Red Dragon 6800XT was £20 more.
Enjoy your unicorn card! :) Perhaps dedicate an hour of gaming to those of us who are still screaming in frustration? :P
I have the 6800xt Red Dragon in my build. Spent a little more than I should have but I was able to sell some older R9 390's to cover part of it. I'm enjoying it. Thanks for the review, there are not many out there for this model.
Saw this on my feed. I take it this means you guys are back!! Hope it stays that way!
Great review as always. Hang in there guys hoping the current "situation" is solved very soon.
tks for these videos they will help when I am able to purchase a card
I live in a tropical country and this card is perfect for local temps here that reach 30C +. The card I have is extremely power efficient and runs so cool. Even at 30 degrees ambient temps, I get 60C on my GPU running at full load.
Just picked up mine today I’m very excited
thank you so much for your reviews, highly valuable work you do there.
I managed to get one of these, it’s performing amazingly well, especially after the bios update, very happy with it
Managed to get one two weeks ago myself. Do you think it will already have the bios update ? Or how would I go about updating to such bios. Thanks in advance
@@andresbarboza594 had to update it myself
I got a black screen Problem w this card you guys know anything about this?
@@frankieforza no sorry, I’ve had mine run without an issue for 3 years, maybe reinstall drivers and check all windows is updated
Red Dragon...
Ah, one of those mystical creatures we're not sure really exists.
How fitting!

I'm liking and leaving a comment on every video from now and going all the way back to January
I had to rewatch the beginning to make sure I heard what you said! Bravo Steve, I needed a good laugh this morning.
I have the XT version of this card and this review is spot on! Card is extremely cool and quiet. Out of the box settings in "OC" mode I've seen the card hit 2450mhz. It's not flashy but does have excellent fit and finish. Oh yeah, It's amazing how much bigger it is compared to the 2060 super it replaced.
Does it perform well cause I was also looking at the version of this card for about 550 dollars
@@codymcginty1150 It's been going well, still have it at stock "oc" settings and plays most my games at 100fps @4k. Never gets above 70c. No complaints here.
@@codymcginty1150yes it is very good get the XT
What is the power connector situation?
Personally I've missed these reviews as I do reference them when purchasing a new card.
It's good to know which models to buy or avoid when these become more readily available.
Thank you for doing them and please continue to do so...
It is easy! Amd Rdna3 and Nvidia 5000 series!
Imagine how many GPUs we would have if bitchin' and moanin' would bring in more stock
A plethora
So much that there'd be an oversupply and even I could buy a gpu, even tho I don't need, cuz the prices were so low
I recently bought this card off of a third party seller on amazon. I overspent by about £200, but I had some gift card balance to use up, and my 2xVega64 setup was causing me crashes in the silliest things. Altogether I'm happy with the purchase as I felt I needed to do it, though I wish I could've waited until the prices came down to msrp. I am also getting super low power usage, with low temperatures to boot. Can keep it super quiet with the fan curve, although blasting the fans up too max you definitely hear them.
Good review from Steve here. Matches up to my experience.
Thank you for the review. Just wish circumstances were different. Always been a fan of this line.
Thank you for the review, I found one of these on ebay $490 July 2022
Heading back through a bunch of recent videos to like them. Hope it will help overcome the shadow ban!
I have one of these now! Got it on a mid day drop at microcenter.
Got the 6800XT red dragon and can confirm its also a quiet and cool card, it only misses out on extra shroud with RGB bling and I've no problems with that. Cost £899 Around a month ago.
Love the channels name change!
Just bought a 5800X3D and I'll am going to buy this specific card to pair with it

Great review Steve
This shit is like watching the Food Network when you have only three ketchup packets left in your fridge and all the grocery stores and restaurants are on fire.
At least you have three ketchup packets. I have none. I'll trade you a creamer packet for ketchup.

I have the sapphire pulse 6800 and it's very efficient. It wouldn't surprise me if it was close to the red dragon. I'm glad I didn't go a for a reference model now as I hate noisy fans. Excellent review.
G'day Steve & Teddy Jr.,
I just want to say even with the current situation I am enjoying the current hardware Reviews You & Tim are doing,
If I only watched GPU reviews based on what I could buy, I would even be watching RTX2000 & RX5000 Reviews
great review as always steve
I ordered this from Newegg at the end of January at an "MSRP" of $945. Coming from a 1060 that I bought during the last mining craze and a 280X before that, I'm very happy with the performance.
Got one 2 days ago, It's amazing. Runs cool and quiet
I got this at the beginning of Jan for just under $1200 NZ, great card to complete my build
You can easily find thermal pads thick enough to work with that backplate spacing.
The main problem with it is that it won't fit in the main slot of a lot of motherboards that have integrated I/O shields in the form of large 3D structures that get in the way.
Useless comment that points out a numbered placement.
Useless subcomment saying something along the lines of "i agree".

Thank your for the video. Helped me a lot to decide which graphics card I should buy 😀 Bought the XT version for 639€ today. CPU will be the 5800X3D (special offer for 389€). I am coming from the 2600x and a GTX 1660 ti. Can't wait to get my hands on it!
Im from the future and this is relevant now, thx!
Everytime they make a GPU review they should stack all the boxes of other GPUs in the background just for the meme
Can we get a Monitor Steve next to a Monitor Tim both inside a monitor, during the next Q&A? 😂
Love ur intro music sm
Just got this card as a replacement after I RMA'd my 6800 fighter right before the warranty ran out for free! Fighter was good too, but with this card I can keep it on the lowest fan speed no matter the load! I have the fan curve set to ramp up after 80c junction temp, but I don't think it's ever reached that high
Keep up the Greeaat works .. 👍🏻👍🏻
I bought one of these, such an amazing card. Cool, fans at 1100rpm, 65 degrees at 2.25GHz is ridiculous!
It's a dark day when even GPU reviews have restricted supply.
I picked one up today at micro center. I’ve been stopping in for the past 3 months, hoping I’d get lucky. The card is overkill for what I want to do, but they only had one 6800 left on the shelf and two Red Devil Rx 6900xt starting at $1600 😧. I just purchased the 6800 at $800+ before taxes... I would’ve preferred a 3060 or 3070, but the only chance you’ll have is to wait in line starting at 12am EVERY day and there’s no guarantee they receive any.
I also didn’t know much about this card so I came here to see what it’s all about before I open it. Sounds like a good card, but not at the price I paid. On the other hand, it’s cheaper than eBay 🤷🏻♂️
Good luck to everyone on your search and I hope the msrp gods are on your side
If the MSRP is 600$ That is an Exceptional Product! And if it is available for that price!
You very well know it's not available at that price.
$600 sound more suitable for 6700 or 3060 low end cards ;)
$900 for 6800 on ebay.
I've had one of these for about a month, love it, nice upgrade from my 1080ti. My biggest gain was somehow Java minecraft with shaders jumped from 72fps to 190fps at 1440p which I was not expecting.
That's quite interesting. I see a lot of people over at Reddit complaining about AMD GPUs' minecraft performance. Anything special you're running?
@@ETophales nothing special at all really, was a 3600x and b550-e, with a clean install of the drivers from january. I have heard some people say that it's fixed on 6000 series but maybe not on older cards? I was using minecraft 1.16.4 with optifine and the complementary shaders when I did that test on the day my 6800 arrived.
Hearing "Welcome back to hardware unavailable" always brings a smile to my face, thanks for the laughs guys in these trying times.
Although I already bought the 3090 I still watched this video! Really the best and most informative tech reviews on YT.
After giving up on getting a new graphics card this year, I stumbled across one of these at PC Case Gear for AUD1,099 (about USD750 before tax). Whilst it looks pretty steep compared to actual MSRP, it felt like better value than anything in the AUD1,500+ range (I'm looking at you 3080). I got it for the quiet mode (having my computer in the lounge room and an otherwise silent PC), but even in the standard OC mode, it's whisper quiet. Even when pushed to its limits, there's no fan noise to speak of. Great card, runs perfect with a 5600x. For those not sold on ray tracing just yet (I'm coming from a 2060), and if you ever accidentally find one when the stars and planets have aligned, it's highly recommended.
Available or not, I will watch every single GPU review you guys put out! Ok, I might blitz through some parts, but I'm always interested how good every single model is.
Edit: Was Sapphire fan, but PowerColor is tempting me!
Welcome back to hardware unavailable. Steve that is so true. Thank you good Sir.
This video is helpful. it tells what gpu is unavailable or not.
I was waiting for this but I luckily got a reference 6800. It's just as good as this and its as quiet.
Looks pretty good, might buy it sometime next year or the year after when stock and price is more reasonable.
Excellent video. Reviews of unavailable hardware while depressing, is a good future reference for when said hardware becomes more readily available. Whenever that happens. Hopefully.
Thanks to Gamers Nexus for letting me know what has been going on with you all.
I'd been wondering where our vids went, but I also know the break was coming up.
So I'll just check the channel daily until you're visible in search, sub feeds and recommended again to not miss any videos.
Best of luck to you guys!
So u know that Nvidia was behind this all?
Here to support you during the shadow ban
I like the lower temps and power consumption!
Devil's in the details Steve!! Cheers 🍻🥱 going to sleep now 2am in l.a
Might as well mine on it and add that to your benchmarks. People wanna know 👌
Well well well, I am looking forward to buy a good value graphics card some time in the future. Thanks for the review
Yup, this is why you get the sub. Nice clean honest review. 👍
Always find my answer in your channel
Even if I can't get one now, I may get one later when the mining bubble pops again. Thanks for the content.
Hardware Unavailable vfx budget has gone through the roof these last couple of eps, that CGI card actually looks real.
Welcome back to Boxes, Hardly Worn.
Comment to try and convince RUclips the channel isn’t hacked.
Love Hardware unavailable series, it's so much better than the Hardware available series... says no one ever!
Rocking 5700xt red dragon baby!
Can't wait to buy one in 12 to 18 months.
I paid around $1100 at Microcenter for 6800xt Red Dragon, the 6800 Red Dragon was ~$1000. It took a lot of effort to get this into my itx rig.. but it fit.
At similar power draw and clock speeds, my 6800 reference card usually hits 95C at the hotspot underload, fans at 1700 RPM
Already got an rtx 3070 and im not planning on getting any of these, but anyway i enjoy your videos and testing methodology!
Nice review. Convince me to pull the trigger and get this card. Its 520 euro (+ starfield for free) right now. So not too bad I'd say. Especially since nvidia equivalents are like 100 euro+ more.
Nice Temps and efficiency
I just bought one in a rush and hoped it would fit in my Fractal Design Meshify C case, it does, with 5mm to spare xD
I like how these "cheap" models are performing ( looking forward for the pulse review) but I would love to see more dual fan designs with a thicc passive cooler ( like msi gaming Z/X non trio) instead of these slim and long ones
I love red dragon products. I always buy them. Always were a decent performance to price. My 5700xt is Red Dragon. This will be my next upgrade when it available. I am staying on my 5700xt. What choice do i have? Let's hope it does not break, as I cannot afford a new one at current prices. It's more than I spent 2 years ago lol
This the model I want 😭😭 would look nice in my build theme
is there a way to change the lighting on the card? i tried their red devil software but it didn't work. Can't install the other sofwares as I'm running windows 11
Great, I'm nipping out to grab one off the shelf.
I picked one up a couple of weeks ago and paid $909 at Micro Center. A real nice card. My be quiet 500dx with this card is quite
God these prices.
Here to give my thumbs up and support after seeing GN's news about this channel being shadowbanned. Looks like it's working normally now.
it's funny now that I've watched the video it's such a good part that even if you don't need it you want to have it . it looks nice and simple, performs awesome and totally is a all check boxed card. sadly you can't get it what so ever
The XT model I got has some crazy coil whine.
On the upside, Hardware Unboxed was still more available during its YT ban then these video cards released months ago.
