They all have so many good things to say lol The people who got other brands all have very good reviews. Something bad is happening at XFX. Terrible customer service. Cards burning out in 6-12 months. Loud coil whine. Etc.
Have you actually tested these cards? I recently bought the asrock rx 6800 phantom gaming. It runs stock at 2300mhz and around 65c and really quiet. Never had a gpu with such a great cooler. Overclocking and undervolting doesn't do much, at stock it's almost at it's limits. great card, could be placed in a higher tier!
I've have a 570 and a 5600xt from phantom gaming, never had a problem so I'm looking to buy the 6800 from them too bc the performance was great and 5600xt was really a hit or miss back then but PG already have the latest & most stable driver from factory to make the card go with the highest clock possible. So far for me they are trusty 👍
very interesting I have the exact same card but under full load my temps are 98-100c idk 100% fan speed, why the temps are so high, I don't think it's the pc airflow because my 6700xt at full load only runs at 77-79c at 80% fan speed
These are all overkill. Silicon lottery would matter much more than all other factors combined (except QC). Even the reference card has a decent cooling solution. I have a fighter and the Hotspot never surpasses 90c. It has some coil wine tho Update: The card has insignificant amounts of coil wine, the real culprit was a 750w evga supernova PSU. The PSU is actually somewhat noisy when under load, but my case muffles it down to "some coil wine"
At 9:28 it's wrong... it's actually 3-slot card, not 2.5 slot (don't forget the those 7 of 6mm heatpipes) It's actually A-tier & have 95% of cooling capacity as S-tier cards In fact.. it's the same specs as 6800XT, the only difference is the 6800 XT have 12+2 phases, while normal 6800 has 10+2 phases (not an issue unless U want extreme OC)
@@Zencydx actually I bought it before a month.. it's really great.. its also have a good OC , already OC from 2300MHz to 2550 max (couldn't get a stable 2600 tho.. Still.. I got around 6% with OC, also the temps is good considering its reach around 300W with OC
My MSI Gaming X Trio runs cool in a Silverstone 13B office case. I found I could push the power slider up to 115% in Adrenalin and the boost clock to 2550 and it would yield 2525mhz stable. Turned it right back down after because my monitor is only 144hz. Really wanted the smallish Saphire 6800 for the wifes computer but they are nowhere to be found or stratospherically priced even now. My research has told me Gigabyte is having quality control problems through their entire line, boards, graphics cards, power supplies. Too bad because at 286mm their card was more case friendly than the 320mm+ cards.
Recently got a power color fighter. Despite it being entry I think it has overkill cooling (during load the fans remain pretty much inaudible inside the case). The card isn't plastic, or at least only the fans feel like plastic. Got it because it was the cheapest (a bit cheaper than the quick) but it is supposed to have really durable fans. Fans have been the most common problem I've had in the past, they just star making noise, reaching lower max speeds and using more power. My xfx RX 480 now overheats during summer, and it's fans spin way slower than when new (thermal paste replacement didn't changed temps). I could buy replacements, but chipping pretty much denies their worth (after all, it isn't a 220usd card no more).
I've got a fighter in my cart now too. $500. Hard to decide if one should wait for the new gen to drop in price. But they may not drop much and the new 6800's are gonna run out at some point.

Fans are barely audible with the case open It does sag tho, this is true for most big GPUs that don't have dual reinforced conection with the backplate (something to hold it like a GPU stand is heavily adviced)
I bought a gigabyte gaming oc 6800 the temps are very good but it does run a little bit noisy. Now it definitly not a rocket or anything in terms of noise just some (maybe slightly louder humming then what some people would want)

In my country (Brazil) RX 6750XT is around U$600 dolars vs RX6800 costing US$800 ( +33% in price but only +15% in performance more than RX 6750 XT ). so it would be good to know which brand is better for 6750 XT ( for example MSI Mech 2X at 572,55 Dolars vs Sapphire Pulse Gaming OC at 671,50)
The 6800 has more Vram and significantly more memory bandwidth, so it CAN potentially pull away by a lot more than 15%, as that extra Vram and bandwidth is likely to matter more and more with new and demanding games that get released over the next three years and beyond.
Just purchased the Power Color Fighter RX 6800 from MicroCenter (had a gift card I had to use) for $519usd last week. I easily over clocked it to 2444MHz and it could possibly go higher. Glad to hear that it has the same quality VRM as the Asus cards you have in the top S tier. It is super quiet and stays under 72C @ full load using FireStrike benchmark (16500 graphics score) and the fans are not even set over 75% speed. Wanted to get the 6800XT but I waited too long and availability and\or price prevented its purchase. Had the RX580 so maybe I am used to a very hot card and lots of noise, relatively speaking, but I am VERY happy with its overall performance, noise level, and operational temperatures. Especially the noise levels. Thank you for the review and comparison. The added data about VRMs and cooling capacity was very helpful, even if they all seem to be overkill, build wise. The Fighter could have had better asthetics and LEDs but for the price\performance, it is a great video card. P.S. To show my appreciation, I subscribed!!!!
overclocked my Fighter to 2500 MHz, worked perfectly, didn't overheat at all i hit 68 Dg C max when using 99% of GPU capacity + i am using the problematic 22.11.2 driver, that currently has a problem of overheating GPUs, ruclips.net/video/W8mlb19w0e0/видео.html - video that explains it better. PS the fighter is by far the best Bank for buck.
I have this same card under my sights as I want to ditch my RX 480. My current card has a Morpheus II on it (yeah, massive overkill), so I'm a bit spoiled when it comes to cooling and noise. Not sure the original Morpheus II is 100% compatible with the 6800 Fighter so I'm worried the stock cooler might be too loud. From pictures I have seen it looks alright.

I have been struggling finding info on the AMD cards as well. What I found though, there aren't really any abysmally bad AMD cards like there are on the Nvidia side. So I guess pick whatever is available it should be fine.
It matters which card you get! New sapphire nitro+ and nitro+ se have Micron gddr6 memory and run much hotter than one with Samsung gddr6 memory! Have returned both and kept pulse. Fan is louder but get better result in 3dmark and also temp.
I have a XFX RX 6800 319 SWFT its hard to get in 60°C the card is extremely cold even with max power limit and max overclock allowed (2600mhz gpu and 2150 vram) still cold af, I want change the power limit cuz this card have a lot of room for overclock.
The fact that they don't really get too cheap, and that even the higher end ones aren't really that over-the-top, is a good thing imo. It means that most if not all models are striking a good balance between cost and quality, which means better value for the customer, at least in theory. You're not getting crap that's designed to break to force you to upgrade sooner, and you're not over-paying for over-engineered, over-hyped, over-priced cards either. A certain amount of over-engineering can be good, but it can get pretty ridiculous, and some brands really do over-charge you for some of those more deluxe models.

@@zarifkarma6111 yes the Gigabyte Aorus Elite is the best RTX 3060. It has the highest power limit one of the best coolers and a great x8-phase 50A VRM. Am almost done with the RTX 3060 video.
VRMs can determine potential performance, card longevity, cooling capability, and over clocking potential............. The smart buyer cares very much.

XFX 6800 in class S for temp ?! Mine is always under 55°C or 60°C in game, zero fans or just 700 to 1000 rpm, it's very silent ! Just great.

@@Berecutecu you need to have card installed and than you can check with gpuz. I think most of newer 6800 xt have micron, att least nitro+ and se.

@@zarifkarma6111 yes the Gigabyte Aorus Elite is the best RTX 3060. It has the highest power limit one of the best coolers and a great x8-phase 50A VRM. Am almost done with the RTX 3060 video.

@@muzosh if he used the 5700 xt you would know what i mean. I have been using the 3070 ti for 6 months and I am extremely satisfied. 5700xt drivers gave me cancer
