Sad part is that when I compare my iPhone 6s to the newest at apple store I notice almost nothing. Apps load the same, videos play the same as are my games - in spite of Apple annually claiming the Newest Chip is 1.5 billion times faster than last year. I just want apple to lose that notch/island/dynamic turd whatever they’re calling it now.
I used to upgrade every 2 years because the phones would legitimately get better. Then the IPhone X came out in 2017. Didn’t upgrade for 3 years. In 2020 IPhones got 5G so I got the 12 Pro Max. Since then…..no real good reason to upgrade. I’ll get a 16 Pro Max this year just because it has been 4 years now. The phones are so good now that only way to upgrade is when you get bored with what you have or you smashed it somewhere along the way.
I would have kept my iphone 13 pro max but the battery was going bad so I upgraded to the 15 Pro Max 15 iphone.! I'm just sticking with my iPhone 15 Pro Max for now.!
The only iPhone upgrade I want is the complete removable of the outdated notch/pill/hole-punch... Time for Apple to actually innovate and put the front sensors/camera underneath the display!!!
i like the design, and if they were to do something with that they really should put it under the display, but i hate the idea of a dot, its just ugly. also, ive heard that its taking a long time to put it underneath the display because of faceid system, with 3d scanner and infrared

As someone who has been buying iPhones since the iPhone 6. Screw Apple. I had an iPhone 6, switched to android came back for the 11 Pro Max, then the 12 Pro Max, then 13 Pro Max and now I have the 14 Pro and have kept it and didn’t upgrade to the 15 because its just not worth it. Yet again its not worth it based off of these “upgrades” what the hell is Apple doing? This is a complete joke. Basically you just get 13 and you're good for 5 years till smth real new comes.

Capture button is so if you hold your phone horizontally to take photos, you can press the button (which'll be on top at this point) like a real camera to take more stable photos so you don't have to move your finger and stuff. I am surprised no one figured this out yet It hought this was obvious but all I see is people speculating about random stuff.

If you have 12 pro or higher, I just don't see a reason to upgrade to the 16. It looks the same, the dynamic island is not mind blowing, most people have half a dozen lightning cables laying around. AI won't be fully utilize-able on the new hardware for over a year. They're changing the screen sizes on the 16 pro models because they can't offer the consumer anything game-changing at this stage of the game.
If they really wanted,they could easily... probably they already working on the next 2 models other than this.. there already is better battery technology, better camera hardware,better dacs inside the phone..but if they use them now,theu won't have everything later,there won't be any upgrade feeling later if they give u everything now ,so less sales less money
What big changes are you always chasing? It's an iPhone, and it has to remain an iPhone, and the iPhone has undergone enough changes consistently, the 15 series got quite strong changes in its shape, and both the regular 15 and the 15 pro line, which actually got a titanium frame and more rounded edges , this is a major change in framework. After all, the iPhone must still be recognizable as an iPhone, the 16 series will again get quite noticeable changes. Grow up, then you will understand that an iPhone must and can remain an iPhone, otherwise it is no longer an iPhone! Just like the phones of any other company, they must and can remain recognizable. If you want big changes, you have to make a completely new company, with a new phone.
So basically as I see it there is no reason to get excited about this phone. Last year's usb-c is the biggest thing they have done in recent. I'll stick with my 15 pro max, get the software upgrade and next year when it all starts again I will probably wait for the 19. "That's they will really go all out" lol
Apple's QA has significantly declined over the past few years, particularly in SEA countries. I purchased the iPhone 13 about 2.5 years ago and didn't feel the need for AppleCare+. Fast forward to today, my phone suddenly restarted while in use and now it won't turn on at all. I took it to the service center, and they informed me that the motherboard is dead. When I asked for an explanation, their response was simply that it died with no further clarification. Now, they are asking me to pay ₹35,000 (around $420) to replace the motherboard. Seriously, the motherboard just died? What happened to the premium Apple assurance? What about the rigorous testing Apple claims to conduct before launching a product? This is extremely frustrating.
Apple if you’re listening - we don’t need more 48MP cameras (most of us aren’t creating life-size posters) or more *“Mind-Blowing, History-Altering, ‘Earth-Shattering’ Updates!!!”* We also don’t need a new processor that purports to be 1.5 billion X’s faster - just please, for the love of God wipe that floating *Dynamic Turd* off our screens.
If you're not a power user and you're looking to upgrade, I would seriously consider getting the 15 ProMax. Reasons. 1. There will be more and more price reductions as they try to liquidate the 15 line of stock. 2. The 15 Pro Max handles the incoming Apple intelligence. 3. The Apple Intelligence isn’t slated to be released until spring to mid-2025. 4. By that time (mid 2025) you’re a few months away from the iPhone 17 with the refreshed (rumoured slim) design. 5. The spec bump on the 16, is 5% better battery slightly better cameras, and the capacity to use AI that won’t be available for half or more of its life cycle.
I have a 12 Pro Max and I’ve had it since November 2020 so I’m not really sure if I want to upgrade or not but the 16th+ what is it 6.9 inch that’s pretty good for me. That’s huge though, but I mean we shall see.
I have a 12. The 16 sounds interesting to me because the 15 PM seems too big, but I sort of want something bigger than my 12, so 6.3 vs my current 6.1 might do the trick. And the extra button would be nice since it will probably be mappable for shortcuts.
I have an iPhone 11, I’m out of storage, my battery life sucks, and I’m the last of all my friends to have an old phone. However, my parents are cheap, and I don’t think they would let me upgrade to the 16 once it comes out. (We have the money for it, but my parents will probably say, “your phone still works, and it’s relatively new!)

I’m on my second 8 plus because I was waiting for the notch to disappear then I was waiting for the pill to disappear. But I’m getting discouraged at this point. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and I am definitely not going to be updating this year. Even with Apple intelligence, it’s still not enough for me to upgrade and other videos I found out that the beta for Apple intelligence most likely probably won’t even be released until January 2025 and then officially released Until about June 2025. At that point it’ll just be three more months until the iPhone 17 comes out. Definitely not a year to upgrade if you have an iPhone 13 Pro Max
Scam PEOPLE don’t buy it’s the same as a 15 nothings change as this or last iPhone they had already change the physical look by now. So I wouldn’t recommend the update this year just waiting until they actually have a new redesign, my personal opinion of course.
The iPhone is hot without connecting the Internet and downloading any software. The power is lost quickly. All kinds of functions are unstable. What is it? Don‘t close down.
Apple needs to wise up. Easy 3 phone like take the minis and make those the new $450 SE with 120hz display. Regular iPhone 6.1 screen, 120hz, larger battery, better cameras. Pro 6.7-6.9 120 display, larger battery, top camera features. They can go 120 display with always on and still ramp up to the pro max. Less R&D, happier customers, and likely higher sales.
I have a 12 Pro Max and it’s working perfectly. I’m hesitant to upgrade because it’s flawless. I am planning to wait for the 17 unless something significant happens in the 16 we aren’t expecting.
I have the 14 Pro. I also used to upgrade every 2 years until after I bought the X, then upgraded to 12, and then my current 14 Pro. I really want to hold out for the 17. It will be hard because I hate the old lightning port.

With the Samsung Ultras, you can mount your phone and use the S-pen to take better still photos or videos all day.
Photos are shit in low light. I have the 15 PM and they suck indoors.

You can take pictures now with the volume buttons. So a capture button is stupid.

The always on mode features sucks!! When you enable the low Power Mode, the always features disable autmaticlly!

I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and I am definitely not going to be updating this year. Even with Apple intelligence, it’s still not enough for me to upgrade and other videos I found out that the beta for Apple intelligence most likely probably won’t even be released until January 2025 and then officially released Until about June 2025. At that point it’ll just be three more months until the iPhone 17 comes out. Definitely not a year to upgrade if you have an iPhone 13 Pro Max

Apple needs to wise up. Easy 3 phone like take the minis and make those the new $450 SE with 120hz display. Regular iPhone 6.1 screen, 120hz, larger battery, better cameras. Pro 6.7-6.9 120 display, larger battery, top camera features. They can go 120 display with always on and still ramp up to the pro max. Less R&D, happier customers, and likely higher sales.

I have a 12 Pro Max and it’s working perfectly. I’m hesitant to upgrade because it’s flawless. I am planning to wait for the 17 unless something significant happens in the 16 we aren’t expecting.

I have the 14 Pro. I also used to upgrade every 2 years until after I bought the X, then upgraded to 12, and then my current 14 Pro. I really want to hold out for the 17. It will be hard because I hate the old lightning port.
The iphone 17 base models might get 120hz and the phones will have a circular cutout so that's gonna be good if it's true.

Really the same camera bump... and why would I want an even bigger phone. At some point they might as well call it an iPad 😂 I'd like apple to go back to their roots and simplify and remove the bump and find a way to hide the camera and sensors in the front. Not just increasing the size lol
