The thing that I really love about this movie is that it shows us that it's OK to be feminine. People don't take Elle seriously not just because she's a beautiful blonde, but because she loves feminine, girly, "basic" things like mani/pedis, shopping, cute fluffy stuff, clothes, shoes, the color pink, etc., but she's also still a serious, smart, and kind hearted person. Society seems to really hate women that are feminine and like "girly" things, but why? There's nothing wrong with taking comfort in a manicure, or liking to wear pretty dresses and cute clothes... it's ok to be a girly girl, that doesn't make you a weak or bad person. That message has always really made me happy.
As a guy I never bothered watching this movie because I viewed it as a dumb “chick flick” (which honestly there’s nothing wrong with them but back then it was a ticket to being mocked for being into anything girly), which is funny tho because the whole movie is about not judging a book by its cover. And that’s exactly what a lot of people did with this movie.
I was going to comment something similar. A lot of guys I know also avoided this movie for a long time and were very positively surprised when they actually really liked it. It's a shame when strict gender expectations keep people from enjoying themselves
As a girl, I DID NOT expect to like this movie nearly as much as I did. I am among those guilty of judging this film by its cover, and I was very pleasantly surprised.
This is one of my favorite movies to watch people react to. It always starts with the initial bad judgment and ends with people loving it at the end. The movie shows the moral, "get to know before you judge/first impressions aren't always correct," not only in the movie but to the audience who judge it initially. Also, I love that this movie shows a woman motivating herself rather than needing help from a man.
31:47 -- and *_he's_* like, "What just happened?" 32:05 -- Um, no... what's going on is that Vivian was surprised and impressed by Elle's integrity (did you catch her reaction when Warned advised her to think about herself?) It made her begin to rethink her opinion of her. Of course there's still quite a long ways to go before they could actually be considered anything like friends, but it's a beginning.
Every once in a while, one of my favourite reactors will release a reaction and I'm like "HOW DID YOU NEVER SEE THIS?" So glad you're watching it now hahha, this movie is peak Reese Witherspoon haha.
My favorite Reese Witherspoon movie is (Just like Heaven 2005) with Mark Ruffalo. It’s the first movie I watched for her and its remains my favorite until now even when I watched half of her movies.
You should check out the musical version. "Bend and Snap" turns out to be an awesome dance number. :D Interesting trivia, since you also liked "Coco," if I recall: Elle's brunette friend from the sorority (I think the character's name is Pilar) is played by Alanna Ubach, who would later voice Mama Imelda Rivera.
OMG OMG OMG I'm too excited for this. I really love your reactions and think you're so sweet. You always speak so kindly about others. This movie is amazing, and you're gonna love it. Cheers. ❤ 🌈 🎉
Two things. 1. Amy the dark haired girl in Delta Nu is Kimberly McClure from the soap opera General Hospital. She played the beloved Robin Scorpio-Drake. 2. Warner became Aleric Saltzman on the show The Vampire Diaries.😂
I love how you went into this thinking g*d punished you and at the end think it's a good movie with excellent writing and Elle was a genuine character 💜
No matter where you’re from dude! You can do anything, you still could! My bf is from about 45 mins south of Albury /Wodonga in VIC, tiniest little town, and his brother lives in the US now and has worked as a top chef at some of the bougie at dang places! You can still do it my dude 💪🏻
This movie smart and funny and surprisingly good. Convenient that this popped up right when Reese Witherspoon appeared in your Friends reactions with Tania.
This movie was way ahead of its time with the women supporting women. I just remember being 18, laughing my butt off in the theatre and “Perfect Day” playing on the radio all summer. Ah…
I dont know how to give you recommendations. But i would love you to see "Father of the bride". I think you and also your wife would really enjoy it since you have a daughter 🥰
I really enjoyed seeing you go from unalive me to loving the comedy and wonderful message in this. It’s great to find an Aussie reactor, and an Aussie reactor who also reckons Kill Bill is one of the best movies ever made. I’ll stick around and if you keep handing out bangers I’ll become a patreon
Nerds… if you have academic issues and need go with a particular subject ask a nerd for help. A nerd knows about any and all subjects imaginable. you may and probably WILL have to pay for the tutelage, GEEK … A geek might be able to help you with that particular subject and he/she could be even more knowledgeable of that subject but the geek will suck at most other subjects . I LOVE this film bit I actually prefer the musical (Legally blonde the musical) which was uploaded to RUclips by MTV which would be amazing if you could react to that as well! As with all musicals you can dive deeper into people's personalities and motivations through song which the dialogue of a film doesn't let happen, lots more Paulette and UPS guy also they have an actual chihuahua on stage to play bruiser. Amazing music

Everything the dad said about lasers I’m against. My mom was going to be a lawyer and she wasn’t/ isn’t ugly and my friend has very high grades and is very pretty like Elle and wants to become a lawyer
that "law school is for people who are ugly..." is the biggest CAP i've ever heard lmao the most stunning girls i know study law ;__; overall, i love this movie. it's funny af.

The fact that her comfort is self care🙌🏼
Her father is my favorite character in the whole movie, even though he only gets about 1 minute of screen time 🍸🍸
I love how everyone's *instant* reaction to Warner is to call him a jerk etc. The actor really embodied that vibe 😅😅

I liked seeing this again, It's been some time. But I enjoyed your point of views and reaction to it.
Aside from the gay stereotypes and VERY bougie upbringing and its impact on her efforts, holds up very well.
I still watch this movie every couple of months and not gonna lie, I have the Hoku song Perfect Day on like 4 playlists lol
I listen to the Lisa Lopes one much more, given its aspirational vibes, but that one's great too.
