Well, it's a clash of ideals and there is no middle of the fence for this. Each respective side is fiercely genuinely beating their chest over why their view is correct.
Very keen to fly China Airlines in economy. Like yourself, I flew their business class and thought it was excellent! The cabin look/design, just felt very modern and sleek for lack of better words. Good trip report Ryan!
Another cracking trip report handsome ! They look a good Airline, I have flown Eva a few times between LHR-BKK and have experienced varying levels of service.
Totally agree that this is one of the nicest cabins flying in the skies today and it looks (and feels) even better in person compared to on screen. If my memory doesn't fail me, the other two airlines that I know of that have elevator music in their lavatories are EVA Air (on their 787-10s) and SQ (on their A350s at least). 10:07 I think that sentence is loosely translated as could all passengers please give your attention to the safety demonstration (although it's too fast, I can't quite translate it word for word). Loved your videos as always, and it was so lovely to catch up with you in Taipei. Hopefully the next time won't be too long away. Take care my friend! :)
G'day, booked melb to Taiwan months ago and looking forward to it , after much searching that many people' enjoyed the flight so in early Dec I to head to Taiwan on China Airlines and feeling a little excited, Catchya 😊
Thrilled to see your latest series has arrived Ryan. I know there will be valuable information forthcoming. The cabin layout and economy experience again confirms the high standards that Asian airlines offer including dedicated crew. I can’t help but think of a comparison in the back of my mind to the equivalent product Qantas provides…China Airlines are definitely a strong consideration for my future flight plans, cheers mate👌🏻
And this is why QF points are soooooo useful. All my ground accrual of QF points go into trips like this one. No way will I EVER fly QF international. Such a waste of oxygen.
lol i was looking at the beef and thinking it looked great and then you said it looked much better than it tasted! I flew China Airlines earlier this year - CI 57 in fact, the return journey. But the vlog won't be up until next year. Love your work Ryan, need to catch up on so many vids! China Airlines are vastly superior to any mainland Chinese airline I know of. OOh the chicken noodles look GREAT! glad it tasted good! you shot all this on the phone and not the GoPro? Dont blame you the light issues with GoPro are so frustrating!
Howdy Andy. Yeah the bulk of my footage these days is from my mobile phone, a Xiaomi 13T. It uses a couple of Leica lenses which give me sharp night shots. I only use the GoPro for walking / talking.
Fantastic review Ryan. I've always found Taiwanese carriers such as EVA and China Airlines to be among the best economy class offerings going. It was an absolute pleasure to fly them across the Tasman to Brisbane earlier on the year - a very classy experience with beautiful looking cabin interior too on the A350! Hopefully you can do a StarLux review soon!
Looks nice. Thanks for showing the mainland carriers and Vietnam previously. I hope in a future video you can try Turkish and even Fiji. I've seen coverage about flying Fiji cheap to the US and Turkish will come in and try undersell Qantas and Emirates to Europe I guess(?). Look forward to this series Ryan, especially the food 😋
Yes QF points are soooooo useful for trips like this. This entire series was mostly funded by points! Asian airlines continue to drive home the point just how much they can offer for far less. Perhaps it's due to their lower operational costs.
Dear Ryan I really enjoyed your trip reports. It's highly informative and you have an amazing way with words. I am getting my Japanese beste to follow your amazing channel too. Thank you for posting and I look forward to seeing more of your videos. Best wishes, Hsiang from Adelaide, Australia (also😅)
Cheers Hsiang! Glad you enjoyed the trip reports. Hope you and your Japanese bestie enjoy the content! By the way, I'm pretty sure we've met at Chef Dong before! Or did I remember wrongly?
Cheers Ryan, In my day shorts were not acceptable for air travel - but then that was 90 years ago ! I so enjoy your clips, but as you know by now I am a sausage, egg & chip man, but appreciate your dining experiences x
I fly in shorts whenever I can, even in winter. In fact, I walked into Sapporo in shorts and t shirt, much to the amusement of the hotel staff receiving me at check in who commented my passport feels so cold, how can I be in shorts. Hahahaha....
@@duaneowens7777 no they thankfully didn't. You could see my luggage in the background opening sequence as I did the intro. That was 11kg in total. That's all I normally travel with.
Another great vid, Ryan! I was about to fly with them in Sep from SIN to Vancouver but was called off just days before taking off when my cat fell ill and later diagnosed with cancer. Was so close to tasting (some) good food and the warm hospitality 😊 I actually pre-ordered a special meal of Indian food just in case the main food tray isn't to my liking...will keep in mind to order the Asian meal when travelling with an Asian airline 😄 Oh, I was also very impressed with the (Taiwanese) staff from the Ticketing Office here in SG as she helped me with the cancellation. CI has an extremely capable call center as well. And they're also very bilingual, fluent in both Mandarin and English. I had to call them to get my seats sorted for all sectors and they were a joy to deal with. Sorry about your cat... Hugs.
Enjoyed the video Ryan. Also noticed a little dig at Sam Chui. Poor Sam, he’s coping it from every one lately. His most recent video was him attempting to explain that he’s not a PR Spin vlogger.
@@grantt4691 I saw that video. While all that is true, he'd also have to work closely with the respective airline's PR department to ensure the right message is being communicated. I think that's the issue many have with his content, the lack of disclosure.
Next month, Juneyao Airlines from China starts its service between Sganghai Pudong and Melbourne with its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Maybe you can give it a try?
I always have these interesting airlines in my sights. As long as fares are reasonable, I'll be there. I tried squeezing in Starlux for this trip but they were waaaaay too expensive!
Hello Ryan, thanks for starting a new travel series. For myself I rate the 'best' Y class in terms of aircraft type and seating layout. Therefore my votes would go to JAL with its 2-4-2 configuration, SIA with 3-3-3 on its 777-300ERs or one of the A380 operators who places Y class on the Upper Deck. As an aside ... you may remember those previous discussions regarding Air NZ axing Auckland-London. Well the news in the UK is that Air NZ is considering a return to London ! It applied for LHR slots but, as expected, LHR was full. So Air NZ has been given LGW slots to launch in May 2025. However Air NZ is not guaranteed to launch flights in 2025 but clearly management wouldn't waste time accepting slots if Air NZ had no intention of starting a route.
@@ryansofly Yes the media in Europe have reported on the LGW slots for Air NZ. The latter does not deny these reports. What *might* delay Air NZ restarting London is the engine issues with some of its fleet which mean Air NZ won't have sufficient aircraft. We shall have to await developments.
Ryan the Business Class line is the Sky Priority line! It’s the umbrella priority lane for SkyTeam Elite Plus, elite status and Business Class passengers. It can be confusing if you don’t know though!
Yes, I know that.... You saw the sign in the video, but there was no line for it. Which was why elite status and business pax were so confused. The queue poles were set up only for lines in economy and premium economy.
