To clarify, are you talking about making the clay itself a different color prior to letting it dry? Or do you mean letting it dry and then painting it afterwards? For the first option, you’ll just want to mix in a little bit of food coloring while you’re making it. For the second option, yes acrylic paint should be fine to decorate it once it’s completely dry.
I usually use acrylic and it works okay.. for mixing I just ad the paint to the clay and mix with my fingers, I will add paint until I got the colors I want. But keep I mind, if you don't use titanium dioxide, the color will turn out a few shades darker
Titanium dioxide is just to make the clay white, so you can skip it. Natrium benzoat is a preservative, if you you gonna use up the clay right away you don't need it. If you wanna store the clay, I suggest to substitute it with vinegar and store the clay in the refrigerator to prevent it from molding

No..l corn flour is the exact same thing as corn starch…. I think she is thinking of corn meal… that is COMPLETELY different from corn starch or corn flour… it’s extremely gritty and yellow in color….
I think it should work just fine.. never tried it, but basicly the presevative is to prevent the clay from molding. So i think antifungal powder would do the same
You could add any genuine essential oil like Lavender, Eucalyptus or Rosemary (a few drops per batch); also some people add lemon juice or vinegar to inhibit mold growth. Someone else used salt. There seems to be quite a few solutions available. The essential oils have to be real, natural ones, not synthetics.
