Hi, just wanted to know the difference between air dry clay which you have made with cornflour and this clay. For which projects should we use air dry clay and for which ones should we use this clay?
Calcium Carbonate is cheap: Can be added to any acrylic paint and any coloured paint if you want to turn it into chalk-paint: and it's not expensive as store bought chalk-paint: The calcium C. thickens the acrylic paint: this thickening makes sure the area you want to paint is covered well: it hides all marks etc.. Once yr paint is dry, you are ready for eg... decoupaging and remodernizing anything you want, especially old or dirty wood, any old or outdated ceramics glass and furniture, that you want to make it look shabby Chic or french vintage antique: If you accidentally put too much c/c into yr paint and it's too thick just add more paint to thin it down: You can wash brushes or any items...etc in water.

@jameemaree4602 not too good actually, when it dried and I sanded it down slightly, tiny chalk bits showed up, so I need to powder the chalk down further, and sieve it extra finely. It's not terrible, but took a few coats.

I have been watching your art pieces for a few years and love your caring and easy way of sharing your creations with us. I made this clay and really love how it feels but I do have a question about it. Yours seems to be 'firmer' than mine so I was wondering if I should add more chalk or will it ruin the outcome. I added extra to take away the stickiness but I can't use it in molds like you did or make it 'stand up. Do you have any suggestions that I can try? I am having the same problem and wondering why you didn't get a reply from her!! It's sticking to moulds so badly, can hardly remove it without destroying the art. Plus sticking to expensive moulds.
@@lisasclafani5185 I haven't used this particular clay recipe but in all my molds I either dust with cornflour or oil first you can try either the clay does not stick to the molds if you do this :)
Have you ever made larger batches to make large objects? Will this clay work well for larger pieces if there is an armature? I am gonna try your recipe!

I don’t know for sure, but I would think not. I would assume that the calcium carbonate would absorb moisture. But I’m definitely following - hoping it is. ☺️

Just what I need! I have been searching for some self hardening clay that I can apply to vessels and apply small pieces of memorabilia to, creating a memory jug. I assume I can give the clay a slightly coloured shade by mixing acrylic colour to my water?

Porcelain clay is cooked and is probably stronger. It can used for pointed objects where strength is needed.

You could probably use mineral oil or liquid parrafin (unscented baby oil or at local pharmacy).
