He lists the gear he uses in the info. Lenses, Body, Apurture light, Dome < $6k. That falcon light new gen that he probably rented = $5k. So you're only about $38k off.

@@purplepandaoverlord7780 if you're watching his content, you're either a creator or want to be. $12k could just be a few clients away. Quit limiting yourself, start small, and make movie magic. My initial reply was naysaying the naysayer about using $50k in gear. His implication was that @danielschiffer headline was misleading. Which I disagreed with. But in my opinion, even if it were $50k in gear, you could make something indistinguishable to a consumer for far less. If you've got the skills in the edit bay, most clients and consumers wouldn't know the difference between footage shot on a $2k camera and a $10k camera unless they're put side by side. Which, they never are in the "real world." So, go try your version with whatever gear you've got, and I be it would look phenomenal.
@@alexwelsh5124 Well said Alex! I agree. Making the most of whatever gear you have is important. The creativity of Daniel's ideas, his amazing edit chops, and the way he gets the shots in frame in the first place are part of his magic... Not the fact he uses good quality gear.

Same. I would've opened the flaps. The untrained eye wouldn't have noticed, but most editors could see it.

I made a Cereal Commercial in my dining room, that is equipped as a semi-pro studio
I could have all that equipment and not be able to do half what he did. Having good equipment shouldn’t downplay how talented he still is. He also DIY’d a lot of the shots.
You are aware that most of it is editing skill, right?
There is some equipment to play but he got to this stage through hard work, not by going as low as complaining about other people's work

If you talking about this video specifically. Actually the box is "opened".
Only that it has been cut straight by scissor or knife which make straight smooth edges.
In the making however it is indeed sealed for that specific shot, however at 5:35 consumer will be thinking it has been open and in this way.
So, the shot is actually logical and make sense for general views unless you pause and zoom.

Asili Picture because of the fact that it’s only Mac 🖥 based or maybe he’s comfortable with that. FCP has a more visual layout interface especially with the effects panel, you see what you adding. FCP also has more plug-ins that makes work easier rather than Premiere where you gotta take projects to AEFx to do more

Once I read somewhere that people recognise the difference between the noise of cold and hot water being poured into a bowl. Human mind is amazing , that if you listen well, you can tell that the sound in the and with the bowl is not coming from milk. Or if it is milk related , it has to be foamy on the top, like a cappuccino.

I first saw the cheerios commercial you made on Twitter a couple of weeks ago and thought it was so dope, so much so I was super inspired to create a food commercial just for general practice and fun. I clicked on this video and thought I was just watching an ad before the video. Thats how good it was.
Interesting , i thought most of these commercial's are done in a 3D software . What would be cheaper for a advertising company to do ? Hire a 3D Artist to model everything and compose into a commercial or actually filming it? Or maybe it has nothing to do with it , and it's about the way the commercial need to look?
Well as you can see it took Daniel a few hours combines to make that whole commercial, where it would have taken a lot longer to do that in 3D software.
@@WestonNey I guess that's true , i do believe that in the TV commercials a lot of the times there is 3D involved , even if it's a low percentage of the production and most of it was physically shot
I have no expertise in this whatsoever but it would make sense if they used 3D for expensive or large quantity of items like car parts or whatnot and use practical effect wherever they can to save time if the cost is reasonable.
It's usually cheaper to just film the actual food than have someone recreate and animate it in a computer.

With polished skill and approriate tools, You can shoot indoor anywhere. The tools don't have to be expesive but a lighting for indoor is a must.
