Since we're finally talking about Genokids then someone should finally make a video on Arbiter. Also Kingdom Hearts inspired and insanely good looking combat.
Maybe cuz no ones heard of it. This is the first I've heard of it. If a game you like isn't being marketed properly, you gotta be the one to get the conversation started.
Damn this looks awesome, I've seen many KH-inspired projects pop up recently, but this one completely flew under my radar, thanks for highlighting it. Me and a few of my friends also want to develop a KH/DMC/Nier inspired action rpg one day, seeing this is being made by just two people gives me hope. :D
Another indie game you should cover is Arcadia Fallen. It’s actually a visual novel game, but the artist has adopted the TWEWY art style, almost to a T. There’s a lot of KH and TWEWY fans who worked on it, and it actually has a pretty admirable voice cast.
3:27 The game looks and plays pretty well. I understand fully that It was their decision to name the characters after what color they looked like Similar to the M&M’s . But If I was in charge I would’ve given them more Creative names. And maybe to keep things interesting the first 1, 2 or 3 letters can be based on the color that they are while the rest is entirely original/ made up or based on real names. With their last name actually being the color instead.
I think it's important to note the demo played here is a much older one and there's a newer one on steam, many things have drastically changed from the older demo like tagging in the other bandmates and no multiplayer and there's a new kickstarter for the game that has reached it's goal and several stretch goals like a switch release and data fights
I really appreciate you doing these videos spotlighting games inspired by the Kingdom Hearts series, I've already heard of and been following the two that youve talked about but as an indie dev it's cool to see projects getting more attention and just in general being talked about
This looks awesome, loving the cel shaded cartoony style. And the UI, particularly the second one shown, looks really cool, having a sort of NEO TWEWY flavor in there.
Love the art style & the fact that it’s inspired by two of my favorite games. I know they’re currently aiming for Steam release, but definitely hoping they eventually get on PS5 one day
I've been keeping an eye on this game, I've also tried auditioning for some of their characters too. Hopefully I'll get the chance to audition again with more characters when they open for them.

It looks like when you switch characters instead of immediately taking over sometimes they will come in like an assist in a 2D fighter and then you take over.

Personally, I hate when RPG games force us to have 1 partymember on the map instead of having all of them at once. Now I get this is an indie game from 2 people and not from a big company, and regardless of this minor thing, I am looking forward to try it!
This is inspired by devil may cry, switching between the characters mid combo is basically style switching from DMC The different characters fight differently, from what we seen so far i say Red- explosive strength Blue- DPS combo Green- ranged Candy- ???

"Hack 'n' slash" is a bit generic. These games are often called the more specific terms, "character action," because it's an action game focused on the characters, or "spectacle fighter," because the fighter's moves are often a spectacle.
I don't think so. But as long as the combat is fixed along with the story being better paced and actually told the relationship and characters well, then it's a maybe to me. But right now, all games should have their own identity rather than copy-paste an old game.

I actually played the demo for this game back in high-school. I'm glad to see it's still doing well and is getting it's deserved attention.
