    *Really becoming one of my favorite appliances. Hard boiled eggs so easy to peel **MyBest.Kitchen** Shell practically comes off in one piece. Stew meat very tender and tasty. Buffalo Wings!!! Easy to clean and works great. Highly recommend instant pot.*

    This looks delicious and I just purchased beef shanks yesterday. I don't have star anise. What can I substitute, as it's too cold outdoors to run to the store today?

    Thanks Maggie for another outstanding recipe. I like beef shank both ways. I like to wrap my beef shank in a flour "tortilla" with hoisin sauce and corriander.
    As always, love your detailed recipes as it is indeed comfort food.
    I don't know how you do it...making great videos while being as "super mom" while working from home.
    Thanks again for sharing such a wonderful recipe. Take good care. 😄

    If I don't have a cinnamon stick - can I sprinkle in powdered cinnamon? If so, how much would you recommend? I have purchased star anise since I last tried this without.

    • @rackoflam
      @rackoflam  2 года назад

      I havent tried but I suppose using 1/2 tsp of cinnamon powder to substitute for 1 cinnamon stick would work. Good luck!

    Is there a substitute for the wine?

    • @rackoflam
      @rackoflam  2 года назад

      You can use dry sherry

    Is that hard gristle in the center of the cuts after cooking, or is it tender/gelatinous and edible?

    Very nicely done! I thought you might fry the noodles a bit to give them a crunchy crust before putting the beef and gravy on top... That'd be more of a Cantonese spin to it, I think. Nonetheless, I will be giving this recipe a try. Thanks!
