Fine Art TV Series - Colour In Your Life
Season - 07
Episode - 01
Filmed on Location at - Armidale, NSW, Australia
Lucy McCann was born in Armidale NSW in 1958 and studied fashion and dress design at The National Art School which gave her the grounding in draftsmanship and design.
She won a scholarship to model with June Dally-Watkins and continued to model with the agency while designing clothing and accessories with the fashion design label, Cue. At this time Lucy was asked to design images of Australian themes for sloppy joes and sandshoes, so the study of screen printing was undertaken, also at The National Art School. She has been a teacher of art for 13 years, in Australia, New Zealand and Italy.
Lucy McCann is an incredibly talented watercolour artist who together with husband Barry McCann, they run McCann Fine Art, in Armidale NSW.
Lucy McCann has returned for a second episode with Colour In Your Life, though this time, it's with the beautiful Free Flow products of Chroma!

What a beautifully fresh bush painting, full of understanding. I love her push and pull technique of getting the basic form and tone of the image.
Lucy is adorable and amazing.
love the way she used her left hand, so carefree . thanks Graeme for your series.

Excellent. Just found this channel and I love it! You are in Australia, would love to see something on Raymond Harris Ching. He is one of my all time favorites. Love Lucy also. Wonderful work.
Raymond is a friend of mine, have known him for 25 years. We are hoping to get to Britain one day to do the show, but its tough when we get no sponsorship or assistance, who knows maybe one day, Graeme

Just amaizing thank you. Never heard of free flow but i use atelier
where do you get one of those books?thanks for the inspiration
Beautiful paintings! QUESTION
Is that free flow acrylics she is using?
I love using Atelier Interactive acrylics. They are amazing
The paints say acrylic, i'm confused.. this doesn't look like watercolor at all, too opaque
What is freeflow made of
where'd the music go?
does wearing the gloves reflect on the toxicity of the products Atelier produces?
Phil Cole No not at all some a just more sensitive than others, Graeme
I notice that this artist, plus others you follow, do not stretch their watercolor paper. Nor do I see the edges taped down. Just curious why.
Hi Rachel, yes many of us just tape down the edges mainly due to the fact that we all use 650 gsm water colour paper, dont really need to wet it then, Graeme
Okay thank you.
This is watercolor?haaa! If you want to learn water color then see milind mullick painting.
