I love Theresa's style of painting. It would be lovely to watch her do an entire painting start to finish. Very beautiful to watch...like a magic show!
I love how Graeme is so in to the materials... like a kid in a toy store. You know, the wonder of finding revelations and feeling that pleasure in your brain... excitement
First class episode! So much heart in every painting! Love her subtle colour and value shifts in places like the creamy-coloured area under the birds! Love her organic smokey/ tendril-like lines she does with the ink and the blotchy opaque white shapes. So interesting to bring together so many different mediums, too. Really appreciate the matt fixative tip. Im keen to try that so i can incorporate textural chalkly lines.
Theresa May is, among all your very wonderful fine artists, my favorite. Her spirit and her work are so inspiring. Thank you, Theresa, so much. Sending my best wishes your way.
Fantastic show today. Absolutely love the different techniques she uses and comes out with such beauty. Thanks again for your show. I would be so lost without it.

Theresa’s website may have been compromised. I tried it several times and was routed to a contractor or to purchase the domain name. Please let her know. Love the show and I really enjoyed the visit to Theresa’s studio.

+seriouslyscrapping it depends on what you want to paint and what style of work you are going to pursue. Give me a better outline of what you want to do and I can then help you, Graeme
A few questions - what is contie? is it like a pastel or chalk? Is it an Australian term? Is the brush that was used with the ink like a watercolour brush you would find in a travel kit eg Sakura Koi watercolour travelling kit? It sort of looked like one.
+Honey Hi Honey, Conte are a brand of Pastel, a little harder than normal Pastel and enables you to get a tighter line in your work, hope that helps, Graeme
Conte. It's a stick made from compressed powdered graphite or charcoal mixed with wax. Sort of like a pastel crayon. You can find them in all art supply stores.
