Just did this with my ‘09 3500, much easier to replace the sway bar bushings first, the end links supports the bar. Then pull both end links, the sway bar is supported by the new bushings, it makes it easy to line up the end links, all the while on the truck.
@@hogie1685 Yeah, I was going to post a video, put its already been done! lol Only thing I did different was use a visa instead of Big Honking Channel Locks..And I cleaned/painted my sway bar to accent those lovely red bushings .
I just googled sway bar endings for my 05 5.9 and watched your video....I’m on the way out the door to get parts and try to put them on. Thank you for the video
hogie1685 We felt like we could do it from watching your video...we got it done..so glad to have a air ratchet it made it a little easier as well. Thanks
You guys should look at getting a steering stabilizer bar kit. They help a lot. Easy to install and are usually around $100. It is a metal frame that bolts to the chassis, and supports the steering box. Also a dual steering stabilizer kit is another good choice with both of those it would drive about as good as a dodge can.
Bought Mood links torqued them to the 100 lbs stripped the threads at the axle. Went to dodge bought new oem links and they gave me a spec sheet indicating torque is about 75 lbs and about 25 on the top. These may be updated from original specs?
I’m not gonna lie to you, I appreciate what you’re trying to do but this video is incredibly unhelpful when trying to do this. It’s impossible to see what you’re talking about from so far away
Thanks I just went ahead and went to Ram Dealer. Will be subscribing tho. I find it awesome when I get replies.. knowing how hard it can be. Thanks again !!
What death wobble? I have miled out an 01, 08, and on a 17 now and never had a death wobble in any of them!! The only death wobble I ever experienced was on a 89 F450 with the independent front suspension while going across railroad tracks. It happened twice…almost tears the truck apart. Thats a death wobble, the Rams just have sloppy steering.
I always torque fasteners. There’s a reason they have torque specs. Repeatedly over tightening stretches bolts/studs and then they break. Just good practice.
I thought I felt something in the steering. Like when pulling her on a ramp onto the hwy. and they were all cracked and have never been changed. Been good (steering wise) since I changed them. No more sway so to speak!
Dude, through the truck away and put that cummins in a leaf sprung Furd. Everything your putting on won't last 50k. It was engineered by girl scouts. The mechanics lift should come with the truck from the factory! You pay a mechanic to do that every 30-50K you could pay for a garage of your own with a blown up Furd sitting out back that needs your Cummins and a Allison to be worth a sht.

Thanks Dude! Doing Mine this weekend . Checked my Sway Bar with Caliper & 33 mm , so ordered to fit . Looks like easy install .
Absolutely was a simple job

Yah for sure in time I will do that!!!! Thanks!!!
Better yet try a front hitch ,same but functional
Great video man, most helpful one I've found
Perfect. Thanks

They where all good for me. I put a new steering box in with OEM bolts and torquing them to spec and I had one break!!!!
Great video,, My manual says the to tighten down the Top nut @ 27 ft lbs and the lower @ 75 ft lbs.. It's no fun if you strip the threads..
I was looking for this! I did mine at 20 and I’m not happy with that. My bushings were pancakes
Thank you!

Great install vid subbed
Thanks man!!!!
Can you give us the end-link part number please. Super video thanks.
Like moog part #
Moog is best way to go!
What that guy said. Thanks. Hopefully as easy as you make it look
I think the torque value for the wheel end is 56ft lb not 110. you'll strip the nut. trust me. at about 5:32
So far so good.
Merci pour la video
Do you have links to where I can get these parts or a good place i can go get them?
Are u from Canada?
hogie1685 no sir US
I don’t know. What stores you guys have there Oh Riley’s lol.
I used Carquest.
hogie1685 yes o Reilly’s, Napa, autozone
Thank you northern neighbors
It was sped up man but it was still a good video. I learned how to switch it out and replace it.
Lol sorry. I'm glad it helped.
Do the bushings have to close all the way once on the bar? I'm having trouble finding any that will close. I'm always left with a finger gap
Ohhhhh the big sway bar bushings?
If the split in the bushing is not coming together. I would say you have the wrong size bushing. Specially if you have a finger gap. IMO

Does this help with the death wobble?
Possibly, I don’t know I have never had it 🤷🏼♂️. I am currently running 315/70 R17 KO2’s.
Trac bar bushings

What size you got for the away bar?
32mm
At 4:40 what was that grease?
Lol. What ever they had in the grease gun on the farm.
@@hogie1685 oh shit lol
What brand did you use for the end links?
Moog
is it neccessary to torque after installing? good and tight is not safe?
I always torque fasteners. There’s a reason they have torque specs. Repeatedly over tightening stretches bolts/studs and then they break. Just good practice.
can you do this with the truck on the ground.
I’m pretty sure u can
Is this truck leveled on 35’s ?
315/70 R17’s are 34.4 This truck is stock stance with 1/4” spacers behind the rims. I will do a video on this!!!
Why did you replace them??
I thought I felt something in the steering. Like when pulling her on a ramp onto the hwy. and they were all cracked and have never been changed. Been good (steering wise) since I changed them. No more sway so to speak!
What size sockets ?
I believe I say in the movie.

Lol. Body. Gone just rotted off every single one of them. Engine still good!!!!Body chooched
The ugga duuga's must be why mine's stripped!
It's actually pronounced moge with a hard g sound.
110FT POUNDS????!!!! Way too tight!!!!! Service manual calls for 45 FT Pounds!!!! Please edit your video. thanks
That what it said for the MOOG end links. Right in the paper work for them.
