OK I’m not trying to be a wiseguy, but I do not really believe that is Slash on that interview there. That guys voice is nowhere near the same, and he just kind of looks like an imposter with a wig and glasses on.
Sweetwater takes care of its customers and loyal staff very well. No reason not to purchase from them.

But on the real slash is such a genuine dude. I'm proud to call him my first influence... Even 30 years later when I'm listening to Joe Pass everyday
Slash seems really comfortable here really "talkative". Love the interviews with him! Just remembered meeting him one time - he signed my guitar and said "here you go man" - what a fan moment .. :D

What an absolute legend. Slash always comes accross as a real nice, humble guy.

P.S im a massive Slash fan from Stoke so i may be slightly biased but i have his Epiphone tobacco burst and the Marshall SL5 (thanks to Nick for the awesome demos that made me go out and buy the marshall) amongst the collection and they are worth every penny, the select few who have played the epi have all said its the best guitar theyve ever played and sound tonally as good as or better than the Gibson variants at a fraction of the price, same goes for the SL5 hell of an amp for the money and for a 5 watt its LOUD!!!
Brian knocked this interview outa the park...GREAT questions ...showed the everyday guy kinda side of Slash and what a fantastic personality and ambassador to music and rock and roll...the music and history of rock would be an entirely different landscape spanning decades if this man had never picked up a guitar... future is exciting w Slash...

Went through the fires and survived and now super grounded and mature which is amazing really. Respect.
It is obvious that there is a lot of thought that has gone into the gear he uses and his usage of the Gibson Les Paul is legendary. He has also worked with Epiphone to make his guitars accessible to his hard core fans. A very humble, talented musician who has an iconic sound. You know who it is after only a few notes.

Slash is the most unspoken of Guitar God on Earth! The MTV Video of Knockin On Heaven’s Door where he did his part and walked off stage is what made me drop my drumsticks and begin my Guitar Addiction!

Thanks Nick Sweetwater Slash three of my favorites
Seen him with GN'R three times (something that still blows my mind...) and at a small club show with Myles. Got a backstage invite from Axl's manager for one of the GN'R shows and grateful to be able to say I met Axl, but still a little bummed I haven't had a chance to meet Slash and thank him for all the inspiration over the years. You can tell from these interviews, as well as his live performances, that he still just loves playing the guitar and isn't going through the motions. I also really liked this interviewer; he asked good questions and let the man speak, didn't seem overly eager to jump in and actually listened and let the conversation flow naturally. Good stuff!

I often throughout my life had thought I was born a few decades too late. This interview just made me realize .Had I been born too early, I wouldn't have had slash as my guitar hero. Don't get me wrong I own many diffrent brands of guitar, but the few times I made it on stage I always took my Les Paul. Not sure why I felt the need to share this. If you are lucky enough to own a Les Paul , you will see they are truly magical.

Great interview. Best I've ever seen with Slash for playing and tone insights. My biggest thing is an idea for replicas of the amps used to record AFD and UYI. I was friends with Frank Levi and discussed with him before his passing of collaborating with Marshall with Slash's consent to make replicas of those amps that he modded for SIR in LA. Frank was on-board but it never happened. Marshall wrote me back that they created the AFD100 for that sound already. Its a great amp but you can't make 1 amp sound like a modded 800 and a modded plexi. It would've been too easy to mod the reissue JCM800s and 1959SLPs already in production with a few tweaks to the schematic based on Franks guidance. Would still be really cool to see that happen and I know there would be a big market for that. Just saying.
Agree, Marshall has been behind the ball for the last decade... its really unbelievable to watch them flat out refuse to offer a modded 1959 and 2203, while they watch Friedman and others successfully take their place in the market.
All I can say is that the money is in emulation these days.

Zep 2 is awesome man, great album, great job on Lie and Spaghetti, I personally like those albums, I grew up listening to appetite, one of my dad's favorite albums, earliest memory is listening to it in the car with him on a car ride when I was 3 or 4. I love your pickups too, i got them in a bright green burst les Paul I made from a kit and shaped myself
REALLY interested to see what he is working on....:) Lots of time to create. When this COVID thing levels out there will be a LOT of new music no doubt as a result of the more home time and the various things many have gone through.

I've met so many muscians, Eddie Van Halen, and ton's of bands,
I never met Slash, however, Marc Canter got a few things signed for me back in 2008 at his deli.
Always loved Slash, he's always been a regular humble guy, down to earth, he doesn't think he's better then you, he's always interesting and knowledgeable.

exactly - i can't believe he has never heard about "woman tone" :)))
He’s a great, FANTASTIC, SUPERB musician, BUT... as a guitar player is absolutely mediocre. Is tone on records is beautiful (is ‘classic’, not THE classic because is high gainish in comparison with late ‘60s/early ‘70s rock blues tone), but his tone live is terrible imho. Given that isn’t a tone Master can’t be so shocking that he doesn’t know what woman’s tone is. Even if... that thing it’s not so good for one of the most famous guitar player ever.

@@romanp.4319 I have the appetite burst they are all so beautiful its actually tricky to pick one, if you can, I highly recommend getting the MXR pedal from sweet water, that combined with the guitar is an insane combo! I have a few samples of the tone on my channel (running via a Silver jub)
@@LeadersandLunatics I have the MXR 10 band EQ and I guess it will be easy to chose for me, because I always wanted a Goldie!! And I have the 2555SL Marshall! Guess we could team up to play some nice tunes and tones!!!

Always nice to hear his real voice. I'll never forget watching him in that metal show.....he was using his low pitch TV appearance voice and as soon as they went to commercial they left his mic on for a second before fading out to commercial...his voice went from super deep cool sounding to this...it was hilarious

I have that also and that's a gift.when i hear a song on tv or anywhere else i know the notes and chords before i even touch my guitar.And that's what makes a great musician.i'm glad that Slash tells about that.because i'm also very fortunate to have that gift also like him and other musicians that i know.Great interview 👌

Great interview. Slash mentioned it was Jimmy page playing a les paul that introduced slash to the les paul.! Well for me as a 12 year old it was Slash that introduced me to the tone and beauty of a les paul.. I bought the Epiphone slash signature (tobacco burst) in 2008 and it still an awesome guitar.!! Better than my Gibson les paul studio
I was also 12 when I discovered slash and the les Paul, I have les Paul copy si ce I was 14,15,but my best friend have epiphone slash tobacco and iz is awesome guitar, cheers! 🤘🥃
