      Les Paul used by Slash in AFD album was actually a replica (apparently a very nice one) made by an independent luthier. Slash back then was poor and couldn't afford an LP so the band manager bought (rented?) it for him and Slash liked it a lot. So when Gibson made an official reissue of AFD LP they basically copied a copy of their own model. I got this from youtube comment section though so there might be some minor differences. • @markn4526
      @markn4526 2 года назад

      It's hard to tell by looking at it. A Gibson USA LP will look like the pickups are higher because the surrounds are shorter compared to the historically correct surrounds that are on a Gibson Custom Shop LP. In other words, more of the pickup is exposed above the surround on a Gibson USA and less is exposed on a Custom Shop, but the actual pickup height could be the same or nearly the same.

    Makes me wanna give my non-gibson single-cut silverburst some love! Still don't know what it is.... Does make the right noises though, so, it'll do me. If anyone wants a crack at finding out what mine is, have a look on me channel. I still don't know. Set neck, mahogany body & neck with maybe maple cap, rosewood fretboard, no volute, proper LP thickness and weight, crooked trapezoid fret-markers like on 70's Ibanez (mine is not THAT old), a proper silverburst finish that is going lovely and green. The lower horn is blunt and terminates short in the manner of a Gretsch, the headstock is also the 70's Ibanez shape for guitars like this. No logo on headstock, japanese pencil-marks inside the routs, short-tenon, clean routs, good form & fit. features on a couple of my latest videos. Big love to y'all, stay healthy in the madness!

Some people aren't keen on watching a 30-minute video, but a more digestible snippet on a certain topic brings a bigger audience, and in result, hopefully engages with them enough that they check out the full video. (Full transparency: we got the idea from JRE Clips - Joe Rogan's subsidiary channel - and others that re-use their content to engage new/bigger audience.) Thanks for your feedback and support ...
