It's amazing how eloquently he speaks these days. Back in the day he was always high and drunk and most of his interviews were incoherent and hilarious 😂.Now he's an OG and sober, and his voice is so cool and he is still so mellow 🥰
Incoherent? I can’t find a single interview to support that. Sure, there were plenty where he was clearly under the influence, but he has NEVER embarrassed himself ever. Not even close. The guy could clearly handle whatever he was on.
I forget which awards show it was…it seems like there were so many back in the day, but Slash and Duff came out completely inebriated to accept an award on behalf of the band and he kept uttering the f word on a live broadcast, which in turn started this rumor that he was the reason that delays were implemented on such live broadcasts, which I’ve since seen is not actually the case…but he was the reason they started using it more, from what I understand. Typical Slash back in the day…lol.
I dont think slash understands how bad ass and iconic his music is , ill never forget the impact his music had on my entire generation , this dude is a rock GOD.
Slash is a classy dude. Great guitarist! Friend of mine was an apprentice for the recording of AFD in the 80s, said he was the coolest one in the lineup.
It's always validating to see how articulate, coherent & focused the quintessential 80's Rocker's are in 2022 ! Keep in Rockin' & creative collaborations moving forward Slash/Company ~ !
@@lomarsweed6604 I guess you've never heard the song Mindbender. Check it out. Slash IS a guitar. Don't ridicule someone. I'm sure you're not perfect. It makes you small-minded.
I saw him in the flesh on Saturday at the London gig they did as part of their 2022 tour, Slash did a proper hand stand at the end, balanced there any everything, i could not believe what i was seeing!
I was 18 when "Appetite" was blowing up, and my sister was really into GnR. I liked their music, but found them kind of terrifying, especially after I read a Rolling Stone cover story in the fall of 1988. The main thing I remember is Slash being quoted as saying that if he didn't drink every day, his hands shook. At that time, I NEVER thought they would still be alive 35 years or whatever later. I'm so glad Slash and Duff got sober. And I didn't realize how eloquent Slash is, I'd never seen him in an interview before. Really enjoyed this, he seems like a good guy, and to still be that passionate about rock 'n' roll and guitar after everything he's been through is an inspiration.
If you're so inclined search youtube for slash sleepover or sleepover with slash something like that. I'm not sure if it's still here but, it was a great video and that was the first time I really heard him talk pretty much unscripted. He's never really been outspoken but, after he got sober when he talked you definitely listened.
Omg SLASH! I don’t think u have any idea how cool you are! I’m born 1970 and I was a disco Diana Ross club type lol. However, in my older years I’ve gained and realized such an affinity for talented musicians. You and Axl Rose are the coolest ever and I just love your style and you Slash, how you branded yourself with your famous 🎩 hat. The slash hat. 🥰🎶🤩😎
The movie that Charlie Theron, and Keanu Reeves had November Rain, and I think maybe two more of Guns and Roses songs. November Rain was one of them. Very good Movie. I think everyone ran to get the album. CD.
Saw him play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London. Sat 2nd July. Everyone knows he is one of the greatest guitarists of all time but everyone was just mesmerised and blown away. It was like was and listening to god play guitar. He did many solos and carried Axl Rose who lost his vocals mid way through for a bit and no one cared because Slash carried him. Slash was so professional, standing far out on stage and getting wet from the rain but did a virtuoso whilst Axl went back stage to fix his voice with some throat medicine. Everyone wad so amazed. We could see his bulging muscles and veins and it occurred to my it is probably from such intense guitar playing. The way he plays is like intense muscle training.
@@DanMasterBlaster heck yeah! I've got some front row recordings from one of his recent solo shows uploaded to my channel if you want to take a look - I've seen gnr front row as well but witnessing slash up close in a club from a few feet away was MINDBLOWING and I still get chills thinking about it. Glad you had a fun time at the show last night. 😎 There's really nothing comparable. Even though Axl had throat issues you may have gotten a blessing in disguise - his normal singing lately has been pretty poor, but I watched some videos from yesterday and actually think he sounds better now with the low register voice.
@@DanMasterBlaster I was there! It was awesome, Slash got such a cheer from the crowd, I was right at the back in the grandstand so it was hard to see the rain, but Slash did look wet, makes sense now! Shame about Axl's voice but it was still such a special event, just to be in direct line of sight with the guitar god that is slash!
Love Slash and his playing but not buying his music considering his political leanings that are same as GNRs. He’s become like Axel and Duff getting radical and his politics are seeping into his music. It doesn’t matter to him he’s rich.

He’s actually usually very well spoken even back in the day when he was admittedly fucked up. Super smart guy
He was always pretty well-spoken, even back in his wild days, truth be told.

Slash seems like such a solid dude! It's awesome to see him doing well
He is really awesome! I got to meet him in '92 and he's really down to earth and genuine.
Slash is the most awesome, genuine guy. And just happens to be an absolute rock legend. God bless him for that… what an absolute champion!!
I swear Slash is one of the coolest dudes on the planet.
Slash looks better now than he did in the 80s and 90s. He looks great. And sounds very attentive. Stay fit brotha!!
Slash is not only the best guitarist he is also very down to earth, smart and has this energy of peace.
It is rare to find such humility and genuineness for such a high level celebrity. Steve Perry comes to mind as well lead singer for Journey,
This is surely one of the better interviews with the man himself I`ve seen in a long while

I'll be honest, I was just curious to see how he's aged, I was not expecting him to be so lucid and articulate, I'm impressed!

I wonder how many people realise that Slash is British, he was born in the UK and only moved to the US as a child

Respectfully speaking, you're delusional. Slash is showing his age. You can't live his lifestyle and expect to look the same all your life.
He is snake by chinese horoscope, so maybe that' s why he likes snakes.😺
Hiring The Cult to open was kind of a hey sorry we stole your drummer kind of thing lol
Work out, Slash. Get high on your own supply. Honor what nature gave you, don't destroy it.
Where does he talk about getting high? He's been clean 16 years.
Pandemic prob woulda got him straight lol
Guitar music appeals to older people, cuz people's tastes now do not need guitar.
Slash must be on TRT. No judgment, he looks good. But his arms are like 5x the size they were in his youth.
