You know, back in the 80s I played a Les Paul...all of my guitarist friends used to play Jackson or Kramer or whatever was the hot shit at the time and they would always be on my case saying shit like " oh dude, how can you play those? They're so heavy and old!!" A couple of years later out comes Slash playing a ....THAT'S RIGHT!! Saw Slash on my 20th birthday at the Hammersmith Odeon. I was front row but had a broken hand which he noticed throughout the night as it was basically always in the air. After Anastasia finished he made sure I got a pick from him, a drum stick from Brent and a high five from Myles. A small action like that that I'll never forget and made it the best birthday ever because he's such a nice guy
the array of expression over this wonderous polyphonic instrument is soul satisfying and Slash was a key inspiration in my own endeavor on the road. The Les Paul and Crybaby are my favorite tools, thank you Slash!!!!
cant stand people that say he is way super overrated when that's not how it is, just listen to all of his recordings through the years and then you can speak, but some people only now Sweet Child or WTTJ and suddenly they're he's overrated. slash rocks \m/
Slash, specifically the Sweet Child O Mine solo, is the reason I started playing guitar. So much respect and gratitude for all that he's done for the Rock 'n Roll world and for guitarists everywhere including myself who are inspired to learn because of him.
For me as a teen, Slash was the epitome of coolness. The "You could be mine" video was to me the pinnacle of g'n'r and the 90ies. I recorded it with my father's vcr from a tv show and was playing it over and over and over....
I have my les Paul in my hands now.Its because of him I play guitar. He has some amazing riffs throughout his career. So down to earth and humble about his achievements.Badass!!!
he came from a really big band, but still can pull the act out of it's shadow. he created new league of fans which unfamiliar with GUNS N' ROSES. For me it's amazing. I Was in Malaysia show at the front row and a really young guy sing a long all the tunes of WORLD on FIRE, then confused and asked his friend what song it was when DOUBLE TAKIN' JIVE played by SMKC :D

There's a really cool documentary, called ''Ghost Blues-The Rory Gallagher Story'',where Slash appears and tells a cool story, how Rory invited him to jam and hang out, when Slash went to see him live,in L.A.,in the '91,I beleive you can find it here on youtube.
That little combo in the background is his signature 5 watt EL34 Marshall, the SL5. Even if you're not a big Slash fan, that amp is awesome! It's like JCM800 in a smaller package. Killer classic Marshall tones in an all tube combo with an actual Celestion V30 12" speaker. Even at 5 watts, it will rattle your windows at home!. Love mine!
I own a SL5 too and its just an amazing amp as you said. You just get that killer Marshall/JCM800/ Silver Jubilee tone you hear on all the 80s record, of course it's not as big and round as a saturated JCM though 4x12 but whatever, for house context and rehearsal it doesn't get much better than this amp
He's thrown away and forgotten more monster riffs than any of us could ever even imagine creating. He's a living legend, and don't take it for granted in today's fabricated pre packaged music industry.

I've just realised Slash' electric guitar sound shaped my ears during a few years when I was 11 or 12. Then got into punk, then metal, then hardcore, then blues and jazz in 20's. Then hip hop around the same time. I think his sound was really open enough and rich to let an early ear grow in any direction. His sound wasn't restrictive. It's even like a foundation to build on.

A LES FUCKING PAUL!!! all of a sudden all those assholes were trading in their pointy guitars for them...guess who was laughing then??...
And I still play them...
The package of emotion and feel he delivers when he plays has no limit... A roller coaster of rock n' blues.... Very unique style....
A man that got Better over the years .and truly is humble never will say he is the greatest and doesn't care where is on the list of other guitarists. Love the music
I wish he continued talking, it’s so good to listen to him talk. What a guy. Thank you slash.
Even after listening so many solos his November rain solo is best solo for me.
One of my favourite guitar player of all times..greetings from KK Sabah,Malaysia🇲🇾🤘🏼🇲🇾
Slash is the best and that is it all.😍
This guy inspired me to play gigs.....and this guy is one of the reasons for me to love blues progressively
Only rock n roll guitarist who is still keeping rock n roll alive.
Not quite
Hardly.
Only??? 😂😂
Hmm probably not but ok

Zakk Wylde says, “hold my beer”
My hero, my inspiration. The coolest ever, SLASH!
Great video. I'm so loving the Ernie Ball video series! Especially the String Theory vids
Slash has always been my biggest musical inspiration. The feeling behind every note he plays is incredible.
It was fun being with you, hope to come back soon!
"Slash - Guitar Anthology" is an awesome Tab Book. thank you Brother!
You are not Slash
Yeah, you're not Slash. You're a great big phoney.
Edy Armendariz you’re gullible as fuck
Slash e fet mannen
i just love how calm his left hand is. amazing
that guitarist, that guitarist, THAT GUITARIST
Saw Slash on my 20th birthday at the Hammersmith Odeon. I was front row but had a broken hand which he noticed throughout the night as it was basically always in the air. After Anastasia finished he made sure I got a pick from him, a drum stick from Brent and a high five from Myles. A small action like that that I'll never forget and made it the best birthday ever because he's such a nice guy
Aaaaaaaand... that's why he's the best of the best!!!!
the array of expression over this wonderous polyphonic instrument is soul satisfying and Slash was a key inspiration in my own endeavor on the road.
Carlos Arzate learn English dude
You knew what I meant bro lol
Yet another comment that deserves a gold medal, You "get it" :) & listened beyond Guns
Yeah. Just listen to Slash Snakepit and you will see how talented he really is
Robert Bolognese maybe english is his second language nothing wrong with broken english
Slash, specifically the Sweet Child O Mine solo, is the reason I started playing guitar. So much respect and gratitude for all that he's done for the Rock 'n Roll world and for guitarists everywhere including myself who are inspired to learn because of him.
when pfd came out i was 15 and they took the stage by storm , slash will probably have no idea how much of an impression he made on people .
Love listening to him talk, his voice is very soothing and has a calming quality to it🥰🌹
For me as a teen, Slash was the epitome of coolness. The "You could be mine" video was to me the pinnacle of g'n'r and the 90ies. I recorded it with my father's vcr from a tv show and was playing it over and over and over....
Michael Sal with ya bitch slap rappin and ya cocaine tongue ya get nothing done
The enigma that is Slash. To me, the greatest!
Slash un maestro en toda la extencion de la palabra...
I have my les Paul in my hands now.Its because of him I play guitar. He has some amazing riffs throughout his career. So down to earth and humble about his achievements.Badass!!!
Slash is super nice, yes, he would probably have become world champion in bmx ...
@Austin Schultz Well, as a teenager, he did not take the drugs and that's what I meant, he could have been with the bmx wsd
I love the brand new album, all his work with Myles and the Conspirators is very enjoyable for myself.
Then a legend was Born !
Fan since 1987....that guy still amazes me!
he came from a really big band, but still can pull the act out of it's shadow. he created new league of fans which unfamiliar with GUNS N' ROSES. For me it's amazing. I Was in Malaysia show at the front row and a really young guy sing a long all the tunes of WORLD on FIRE, then confused and asked his friend what song it was when DOUBLE TAKIN' JIVE played by SMKC :D
fearview he’s the kinda guy you can sit down with and have a drink and talk about life. I’d love to chat with him about horror stuff as I’m a big fan of the genre, really cool guy. With his music my fav period of his was contrabrand which was awesome record and his slash’s snakepit dAys.
Last of a kind. It's amazing that how fresh his new material is after 35 years of recording.
that lick is so Gary Moore - is really great
I looked it up on the web and "The great pretender" is about Gary Moore. There you go
Wessel Hollestelle ah that explains it then ha, that’s great thanks
Slash knows the good stuff,he`s a big Rory Gallagher fan also.
greekfreak1980 ah yes you can hear the raw Rory attitude sometimes actually
There's a really cool documentary, called ''Ghost Blues-The Rory Gallagher Story'',where Slash appears and tells a cool story, how Rory invited him to jam and hang out, when Slash went to see him live,in L.A.,in the '91,I beleive you can find it here on youtube.
His melodic riffs are just amazing!
Love mine!
is that what he is playing through?
Rian Rian lights are on and sure sounds like it.
Now it's based on a Jubilee head not an 800
I own a SL5 too and its just an amazing amp as you said. You just get that killer Marshall/JCM800/ Silver Jubilee tone you hear on all the 80s record, of course it's not as big and round as a saturated JCM though 4x12 but whatever, for house context and rehearsal it doesn't get much better than this amp
@@thewickedwizard Jubilee's are based on the jcm 800
Slash is a true legend, nobody else comes close for me
He's thrown away and forgotten more monster riffs than any of us could ever even imagine creating. He's a living legend, and don't take it for granted in today's fabricated pre packaged music industry.
He sounds so much better than in the nineties. No shaky high pitch voice. The result of taking care. Good on him!!
I love this guy! He's so talented and seems very honest. ❤👍
Slash makes me proud to play guitar, the best thing that ever happened to be in my life what music and the guitar. Slash is such as amazing artits.....GOAT!!!!
Whoever disliked this video is a dj Ashba fan
fuck dj asbha
DJ who?
I disliked it and im a huge metal fan
A DJ using Guitar?
DJ tanner is cooler then him
The more I learn about Slash, the more I learn how badass he is. Such a cool guy.
My introduction to the guitar was playing guitar hero as a kid haha, I remember seeing his character and fell in love with his style and how he plays, fuckin legend ❤
I bet he has the strongest hands in the universe! He ALWAYS has his guitar with him.❤
Slash is my guitar hero. N he is my inspirator as a guitarist.
Even i'm still amateer guitarist.😁
I've just realised Slash' electric guitar sound shaped my ears during a few years when I was 11 or 12. Then got into punk, then metal, then hardcore, then blues and jazz in 20's. Then hip hop around the same time. I think his sound was really open enough and rich to let an early ear grow in any direction. His sound wasn't restrictive. It's even like a foundation to build on.
