      Abdel Tassi ok and not to argue or say MOP isn’t a masterpiece because it is which btw Hetfield wrote minus most of the solos, however , where is Hammett’s cover of Petrucci’s work ?? Is it because he doesn’t respect him as a player ? Or because he couldn’t play 30 seconds of one of his songs ? Just a question .. not trying to disrespect your views etc. just a thought

Man metallica is such an awesome band, just the effect they have on me throughout my daily life and thousands of others continuing to introduce new people to the metal community, and inspire generations of amazing guitarists, they are a staple in metal and rock and roll history and on top of everything they remain a pretty humble, extremely nice and funny group of guys that make awesome music. Probably the greatest guitarist of all time in terms of the sheer volume of epic riffs created. There’s 20-30 Metallica songs where you could just play a small sample of the riff only and people everywhere instantly recognize it’s Metallica. That’s hard to do, most bands maybe have a handful at most. Such a creative genius with music. Granted not the most technically gifted guitarist or whatever but that’s not what inspires an entire generation and kirk has managed to do that.

He is his unusually modest, sensitive hard working person. And it looks like, he is right, and his attitude missing an ounce of aggression. Mr Hetfield, Mr Ulrich would not withdraw from the huge business called Metallica. Mr Hamett can really afford it with Mr Robert Turillo. • @CarcPazu
      @CarcPazu 8 лет назад +2

      Yeah you're probably right. Sounds a little too loud to be the headstock. I always dampen both since forever. Just need to cut little strips of the foam that comes in pickup boxes and shove it them in the springs. Same for the headstock' stings. (you probably know that, saying that for the others)

    • @jairocerritos3213
      @jairocerritos3213 7 лет назад

      Don't dampen them too much or you'll lose sustain. The block and your springs play a huge factor in your sustain believe it or not.

    Everyone complaining about Kirk being sloppy or having poor technique. Technique, or "by the book" has never been the golden pillar of guitar playing. Everything from the Blues musicians of the past, to the introduction of rock music itself was counter to the concept of "proper" playing in their respective days. Jimmy Hendrix........amazing guitarist........sloppy as hell and all over the place...........yet will be remembered forever. Rock has NEVER been about perfection. Let the man get old and appreciate the fact that he's part of a band that's lasted 4 decades in an industry where most fail after a year, like them or not.

    Anyone that actually knows anything about guitar knows these 2 things: 1) Kirk's work on Fade to Black, Sanatarium, Black album etc. is legendary. 2) He clearly stopped practicing years and years ago. It takes a lot of motivation to attain and maintain extreme skill and compete against the new kids. He's not much of a guitar player any more especially live - but that's ok.

    • @effiemars_
      @effiemars_ 5 лет назад +9

      Well for me it's easier to pick fast than to sweep too, because I very rarely try to sweep pick, and that's because I don't like guitarists who do that too much. Probably he is the same way...
      Although we can't say the same about him with the wah.
