Yeah I just I got $400 rev9 coilovers for my wrx and they drive good tbh. I just wanted to be low for now. I will upgrade to bc racing coilovers in the future but as of now I’m chillin.
What it comes down to is, you get what you pay for. I feel they're great for sitting low or improving the handling out of your old, worn out suspension. Meaning they'll work for most people. The down side being that the ride quality will most likely be terrible and they won't last as long as OE or high dollar parts. But once again, you get what you pay for.
Why i always hear or read ebay items being cheap or knock offs?its a worldwide public online shopping site, ofcourse theres alot of knock offs items and also an authentics.its just ebay allowing all stores to sell their product to their site and make money by listing those and interest.
No description, not even the upload date. Weird. Anyway I got some $250 shipped maxpeeding rods. I honestly really like them. They're built okay, not great but they don't look like they'll crumble. You feel every bump in the road like a shopping cart but it's not as bad as I expected. I've never driven on high end coilovers, but I'll have some in the near future. With all of that said, I was blown away by how much it changed the handling characteristics. The steering resonse and body roll improvements made my civic feel like a go kart compared to stock. Very happy with my shitty china struts. I didn't adjust my preload at all, uh oh! Guess it's time to do some research. Your miata was rubbing fender because you didn't roll it. I turn hard with no rub in my civic and it's dropped 2 inches.
FroztiProductions I’m in same boat. I could spend $900-1200 and be happy but maybe think I should have spent $3k for track. So then I say maybe go with $600 or more and get shit for the money. So I figure spend $250 and be happy and save for my ultimate track ones like fortune or something full race
I ordered a set of maxspeedingrods I took them apart and greased up everything and reset the preload they feel great stiff enough not bouncing much. WARNING THE PRELOAD FROM THE FACTORY WAS WAY OFF ON ONE FRONT COILOVER DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING.
A pre-install parts clean and grease is always in order when dealing with suspension, steering and some braking parts. The "oil" on them when you receive them is only machine oil where threads have been cut and to protect the coilover's finish from rust.
Ive been running on ebay DNR adjustable coil overs for 9 months and have no issues at all. The ride is slightly bouncy but have held up so far. Keep the videos coming bro
Big $ - BC/Tein? I'd say they're low middle class, and something like Öhlins R&T is upper middle class. Big $, for me, would be something like Penske, Moton or JRZ…
Runoratsu thank god someone else in the comments is talking sense. Guy in video very obviously knows nothing about suspension. Not breaking and improving handling/ride are not the same thing.
What brand are these? Is he saying something like Emoussa?? EmuUSA? I would be interested in looking into these if I knew what they were. Also, in May of 2019, I can't find any budget coilovers in the $350-550 range. These budget sets all seem to be in the 200-300 range, then they jump up to the $700 range with Megans.
Looks like a nice street coilover, just what I need for my 1994 corolla wagon. I wish they made a set so I could do a video of the install. but good job on this video and thanks for sharing!
I installed Emusa coilovers that had adjustable dampers on my mk3 cabrio during last fall and drove them all winter long (harsh Canadian Quebec winter). Although i had to modify front top hats and rear top mounts to make them fit, i had no issues no whatsoever to this date. They're driving fantastic even in -30c temperatures. I haven't managed to bottom them out yet, the only problem i had so far was that my rockers are literally scrapping on the ground during very hard cornering. This will probably be fixed once i put my 16" porscge wheels on as im still on 14" winter tires atm. Very happy with what i have considering the little i had to pay for them.
Just found your channel and subbed. Always happy to support other small car channels. :) Did you see the Fitment Industries video on Race coilovers? Made me think twice that they may be decent. I def want to buy a set of Maxpeeding Rods in the future just to do a video on them, hahaha. The fact you can get a set for as little as $240 is just insane. I am looking at Godspeed for my MR2 in the future, potentially, but we'll see. Hope the EMUSA set have worked out well for you, or better than Maxpeeding Rods at least!
Picked me up an 04 srt4, 97k mopar stage 1. Needing a few minor things like struts for the rear..I've already changed sway links, plugs (she spit),oil/trans oil. Timing done etc at 85k. Runs super strong and hits 20lbs like it's nothing. Seems to have a shorter stick but not really short. Shifts tight but smooth in every gear. No smoke no leaks no rattles besides the right rear strut. I'm new to the srt4 world.. I've always been B5/si type cars. Always wanted an srt4 because of the sound and the feeling one gets while driving the car. Amazing. But besides all my extra yap. The car sits on 18" HP design rims with 225 40z r18 with spacers. I can't use coil over systems because it will not ride right. I would like just a simple oem set but can't find it anywhere. I've checked all over and many say,"it fits" but when reading description it would say, "excludes srt4 etc. Plus some have only two screws when my car has three. Any help anyone on which ones to go for. Ain't trying to spend much. 600 probably.. just need a good place to look at options. Thank and keep those I'll vids coming. I've been watching for a long time even before owning an srt4 lol. God bless and keep up the great tips etc.
Not the same. The MaxPeeding are $200 and the EMUSA are $300. The welded bit at the bottom of the MaxPeeding coilover is a huge factor in my decision not to buy it. That thing looks like it could snap at any time. The EMUSA is just as solid as the Megan coilover.
I’ve used emusa full body coilovers for s13 (non damping) and they really are identical to the Megan’s other than the shocks not being adjustable. But I wonder if the $260 ones on eBay aren’t the same thing, they look identical. Not like maxpeedingrods which are truly and utterly garbage and the worst coilovers ive ever bought.
So what are they called? Dnr? I have a 1990 mazda miata and im looking for a set of coil overs can you send me a link for these or can u let me know the name Rev 9?
Well, I guess I jumped my own gun with my posting of a few minutes ago. He was saying Emusa, but apparently they don't make a set for my Mitsubishi 3000GT - which is why I couldn't find any on Ebay. I guess these Emusa for your Hondas and suchlike are in the price range that he was using.

NITROKID98 don’t expect a comfy ride with pretty much any cheap coil overs bro, lowering springs are no good on stock shocks, try a decent set of shortened shocks with your lowering springs if your not too bothered about height adjustment, shorter springs will kill standard shocks in no time as there pretty much bottomed out all the time, most coilovers will be really stiff and uncomfortable as there mainly designed for track use, even high end coil overs, majority of them won’t be a comfier ride than the standard shocks and springs providing shocks are good.

They will definitely ride more firm than OEM. Thicker springs mean stiffer ride quality.
