I’ve been running iOS 18 on my iPhone 15 and the only little issues I’ve had are that it takes a little work to arrange icons on the Home Screen (doesn’t always let me place them where I want) and I had to set up control center again after a reboot. Other than those two things, it’s worked just as good as iOS 17 and battery has been great too.
I’m on the fence on if I want to download it or not. People are telling me why would you want to install a beta when there’s only 2-3 weeks until final release?
I’m on the dev beta, the only issue I have is with CarPlay. From beta 1 it has been awful, I believe beta 2 was meant to address an issue with BMW CarPlay but if anything it’s worse now
Regarding random restarts on MacOS 14, I found that if you don't run full screen apps, you won't have the random restarts. My M2 MacBook Air hasn't restarted in 2 days. I'm not sure if the machine is running out of RAM or what. 8GB in my case shouldn't be an issue, but apparently it is. Here's to hoping they fix this in MacOS 15.
I am on iOS 18.0 Public Beta 8 everything has been smooth sailing. However, Apple Music is still quite buggy. Japanese lyrics doesn’t work properly if more than 2 line, And the search function inside a playlist is sluggish. Other than that pretty great, battery life has also been solid.
Based on what I know, wireless charging doesn't wear out the battery any more than traditional cable charging does. I believe people think it damages the phone due to the heat generated by the inefficiency of wireless charging, which disperses much of the energy as heat. However, in any case, wireless charging doesn't wear out the battery faster; it's a false myth. The only advantages I see with wireless charging are when it's paired with a MagSafe mount, for example, in the car to easily position the phone and charge it at the same time. Other than that, I don't find it particularly useful. The standby mode seems like a pretty useless gimmick to me. In the end, most people charge their phones with a cable and then, when they want to sleep, they leave it next to the pillow or on the nightstand; they don't attach it to a horizontal stand to keep the clock always on...
Yes, to me it is and that’s all I used typically. Wireless charging is actually less stressful other than the heat of the device. Wireless can only go up to 15 watts on an iPhone and there are temperature sensors both in the MagSafe connector and the iPhone that keep it within range.
Ever since uploading iOS 18 beta public I can no longer use MagSafe chargers as they have become slow chargers. I have tried two different kinds both same results heating up quickly and slow charger warning. I can’t report this to Apple as none of my details work I’ve tried changing details but no good.

I'm testing on the iPad m2 model with public beta 5. It's not ready to go. It drains the battery massively each night, 10-20%. Apple apps such as Find My are using the most power. Using apps like Notability, I'm finding 10% battery use with 30 minutes of screen time. This update is an improvement on the previous beta.
