One thing I really want is Apple to bring all its native apps (like phone, messages, mail, FaceTime….) back on the main page in Settings and be separate from other apps
I always sync my photos to my Mac and the photos I’ve yet to sync are in my camera roll. So now I don’t know where those photos are because some of them aren’t recent. So annoying
Yup, it's been several years. With that said, it's still VERY conservative about uploading photos. It's not the "shoot-then-immediately-backup" feature that it sounds like.
I don’t have WiFi at my apartment anymore so I use 5 g cellular only for 1 one year. Photos don’t get backed up to iCloud using 5 g cellular, even though it’s / checked / photos back up to iCloud/ … I get a screen flash up warning message approximately every 3 weeks, saying ( Photos not back up 360 says) etc / that’s when I had to get rid of my slow London WiFi of 7MGPS) ( yes folks i live in London wifi my street 7 speed omg Sept 2024 not 1999 is it ha ha ) it’s mad that it says : iCloud back up completed successfully, but it doesn’t back up photos !!! So the Apple support forum confirms/ photos are not backed up to iCloud over cellular!!!!! ( so I use my friends apartment wifi to back up my phone every now & then)
Many thanks for this video. I'm getting an iPhone 16. I updated my iPhone 13 Pro Max to 17.6.1 and got the white screen issue. I had too fix it with the electric lighter hack.... I've now upgraded to 18.0 RC Beta 6. No issues so far.
I have been using the public beta of IOS 18 for some time now. I can say I am not overly impressed with the update. It is nice to put apps anywhere you want on the Home Screen and the dark apps look good, and the calculator changes is nice as well. Other than that it is just not a WOW factor. As far as iPhone 16 series goes I still have the 14 Pro Max and see no reason to upgrade yet. There needs to be an overall got to have it feeling other than color updates and the AI is just not something I would use daily
Maybe iOS 19 will allow to change the system-font, hopefully with those can be selected since iOS 16 for clock on lock screen. Would made iOS much more interesting and neat.
Aaron. One bug that hasn’t been fixed for a long time is with airdrop between Mac and iPhone. After airdropping a file between them…. I can’t airdrop another. I have to log off of my Mac to reset it before it will work again. Apple needs to look into this.
Do you wanna know something that is not been fixed, having Siri voices the US voiceover to say button in the correct sound like iOS 16 and earlier because ever since 17.0 especially till now along with the 18 betas, apple didn’t even addressed the voice over Siri saying button in that tone that I never got used to. I had to use the workaround by replacing the letter, O and the letter, N, at the end and then put the letter, E, and the letter, N, to make a sound like iOS 16 and earlier even though it’s saying back button a little bit weird but that’s close enough anyways I told them like 12 times and they never dead so most likely it will never be fixed

I’m running iOS 18.1 Beta 3 on my iPhone 15 Pro. Battery life for me hasn’t been the worst, although I typically only use my phone for lighter tasks, like messages and watching videos. Currently I have 100% battery capacity at 198 cycles and I get about 5h of SoT before hitting around 40% battery life. Thanks for the very informative videos Aaron!
@@RandyLea So far it works good with the features we have. Writing tools work 100% of the time for me and it handles many different prompts pretty well when it comes to making memory movies in Photos. The only feature that’s been a bit rough around the edges is Cleanup. But aside from that, the message and notification summarizing works great as well.

I'm not too disappointed, I haven't seen many AI features that interest me. A lot of the photo tools are available from Google, I don't mind them looking at my photos as much as things like email. I know someone that bought an iPhone 15 Pro Max today. OUCH!
Amazing you’ve 100 percent retention even after those many charge cycles. Mine dropped to 99 just after 77 cycles, even though my daily average screen time has been 15 - 20 mins. I’ve a base 15 mode. Maybe pro models retain charges for longer durations and you’ve to charge less often, that’s my guess
@@Adamtendo_player_1it’s not? We’ve always had Public and Developer beta and 18.1 is a version everyone will eventually have, it’s separate for now because Apple Intelligence is very experimental. Android is fragmented for other reasons
They need to fix the keyboard lag on iOS 18.1. It’s so bad that it’s ruining the experience for me. Every time I have to use WhatsApp I consider switching to gboard (I don’t like swiftkey) but I’m so used to the stock keyboard that I end up resisting switching 😢
One thing I've noticed with my 13 Pro Max is the insane lag in the music app when I tap a new song to play, especially on low power mode which is super annoying. Hopefully there's a fix for that in the GM
No iPhone 16 for me as my 15 pro max is still a baby I got it in April this year. I am most looking forward to rcs, dark mode icons and new control Center. Not too bothered about the Apple intelligence just yet I think that will be a major thing next fall with the 17 series
Great summary Aaron, overall iOS 18 seems to be ready for release. I will keep my fingers crossed as 🍎 has been a bit inconsistent with their software releases where their software has been a bit buggy. So far, so good. No major bugs that I have noticed on my iPhone 15 Pro.
Ive spent 40 years as a techie from the 8088 days and DOS....one thing I have learned is to NEVER buy new hardware when released......huge waste of money....I have a storage unit full of crap much of it I tossed.....items that I wasted big money back in the day. as for iphones....my 14 does just fine...i wait till my carrier gives them out free..dont waste your money.....even the XS is good.....nothing older mind you...
Ever since 18.1 beta 2 my phone only rings once and goes to voicemail. Says user busy on screen. Have deleted focus and no luck. I rest network settings and also no luck. Frustrating for 3 weeks now

Can someone please explain why the settings menu is narrow? Before, it was full screen. It doesn't look good and brings the text on 2 rows, especially if you don't see that well and you need your text bigger. Looks really ugly. Thank you.
I'm on ios18 beta. & it's great. I have no problem what so ever. AI won't release until iOS18.1 Public release, but there are surprising AI things even on this. Is is Apple or is it apps, I'm not sure but stuff is awesome.

Sigh, the “RUclips” issue isn’t isolated to RUclips. It’s an internal change having to do with some sort of networking wait states and affects other apps. It disrupts the entire iPhone making it unresponsive for a short interval.

RUclips pausing is likely related to timers. I use a lot of timers and when they complete it pauses RUclips but once you silence the alarm it doesn’t start playing again.
iOS 18.1 Beta 3 bricked my 15 Pro Max (and I found out I’m not the only one that has happened to), so I’d stay away from it. iOS 18 Beta 8 is likely to be more stable.
@@AbhiTek_ I’ve been using 18.1 but have noticed the keyboard being slower and things crashing more frequently. I downgraded back to 18 beta 8. I just updated for apple intelligence but realized it wasn’t fully integrated with AI yet.
@@rgullart99 I noticed the frequent crashing as well before it went into a boot loop for me. I’m now on the iOS 18 RC, which is working fine. I’ll give 18.1 a miss until it’s ready for public release. I’m in the UK anyway, so I won’t get any Apple Intelligence features in 18.1 until December.
I plan to pick up the 16. Go back to apple in general. Now that its gotten so many new good features, its worth staying with them imo. I've been keeping up with some of your videos to keep me posted.
I'm waiting on Apple to top the 13PM. I've had mine since July 2022 and it still has 88% battery health, I've heard so many complaints about the poor battery health on the recent models... I'm definitely not getting the 16PM, not enough new features still so hopefully Apple improved their batteries when the 17PM comes out as that's probably when I'll consider upgrading. I'm still on iOS 17, tried the iOS 18 Beta and it was so underwhelming.
For me its the same. Heating management has been the worst since ios 16. I really hope that they will fix this. Other aspects of ios 18 are okay maybe the battery is worse in some apps and UI elements are a bit glitchy.
I have a iPhone 14 Pro Max using iOS 17.6.1 and I’m having issues with RUclips. After awhile of using, watching videos, the following videos do not display correctly, and then they won’t play at all and I have to do a hard re boot . Then it displays correctly until the problem happens again about an hour later…
My iPhone 15 pro is and 4 months old and running on 17.6.1 and the battery life is AWFUL!!!! I upgraded from a 14 pro max and it was never like this and I used my 14 a lot more.
RUclips for me seems to be buggy for me some things don’t load correctly and when I’m watching a video in portrait mode it doesn’t load any videos below the video and is just blank and I’m running iOS 17.6.1
Version 15.6.1 was the final update before iOS 16, and similarly, 16.6.1 was the last before iOS 17. So, it's likely that 17.6.1 will be the final update for this cycle.
For some reason, I cannot get 18.3 or 18.6. I haven’t had an update since 18.1. I’ve been on the developer website and it just sent me straight to my settings. Is it released for everyone? I have a iPhone Max Pro 15.
iOS 18.1 Beta 3 put my iPhone 15 Pro Max into a boot loop, with a restore to iCloud backup required to fix it. I have since found out that I am not the only person with a 15 Pro Max that this has happened to.
I just want to see whats gonna be new with the watches. I have the ultra2 so i wont be updating but there hasnt really been any real talk about the new apple watches coming out.

From my iPhone 15plus i will stay with iOS 17.1 with the perfect battery life, until then I will see is iOS 18 will improve the battery .

Honestly, I am not on iOS 18 just yet I’m still on iOS 17 and generally the performance is pretty good on my iPhone 12

iOS 18.1 Beta 3 bricked my 15 Pro Max (and I found out I’m not the only one that has happened to), so I’d stay away from it. iOS 18 Beta 8 is likely to be more stable.
@@AbhiTek_ I’ve been using 18.1 but have noticed the keyboard being slower and things crashing more frequently. I downgraded back to 18 beta 8. I just updated for apple intelligence but realized it wasn’t fully integrated with AI yet.
@@rgullart99 I noticed the frequent crashing as well before it went into a boot loop for me. I’m now on the iOS 18 RC, which is working fine. I’ll give 18.1 a miss until it’s ready for public release. I’m in the UK anyway, so I won’t get any Apple Intelligence features in 18.1 until December.
I plan to pick up the 16. Go back to apple in general. Now that its gotten so many new good features, its worth staying with them imo. I've been keeping up with some of your videos to keep me posted.
Why isn’t my standby mode as colourful as yours. Mine is always in red tint. Using 14 pro max by the way

I'm waiting on Apple to top the 13PM. I've had mine since July 2022 and it still has 88% battery health, I've heard so many complaints about the poor battery health on the recent models... I'm definitely not getting the 16PM, not enough new features still so hopefully Apple improved their batteries when the 17PM comes out as that's probably when I'll consider upgrading. I'm still on iOS 17, tried the iOS 18 Beta and it was so underwhelming.
Hi Aaron I’m using iOS 18 PB6 on my iPhone 14 Plus and the heat of the back is unbearably hot for just using some apps
It's a problem with the Instagram app
For me its the same. Heating management has been the worst since ios 16. I really hope that they will fix this. Other aspects of ios 18 are okay maybe the battery is worse in some apps and UI elements are a bit glitchy.

I have a iPhone 14 Pro Max using iOS 17.6.1 and I’m having issues with RUclips. After awhile of using, watching videos, the following videos do not display correctly, and then they won’t play at all and I have to do a hard re boot . Then it displays correctly until the problem happens again about an hour later…

My iPhone 15 pro is and 4 months old and running on 17.6.1 and the battery life is AWFUL!!!! I upgraded from a 14 pro max and it was never like this and I used my 14 a lot more.
I am so excited to get iOS 18 this month can’t wait get Ai features 🎉🎉🎉

RUclips for me seems to be buggy for me some things don’t load correctly and when I’m watching a video in portrait mode it doesn’t load any videos below the video and is just blank and I’m running iOS 17.6.1
Version 15.6.1 was the final update before iOS 16, and similarly, 16.6.1 was the last before iOS 17. So, it's likely that 17.6.1 will be the final update for this cycle.

iOS 18.1 Beta 3 put my iPhone 15 Pro Max into a boot loop, with a restore to iCloud backup required to fix it. I have since found out that I am not the only person with a 15 Pro Max that this has happened to.

Thank you Arron I might not update my 13 pro because I wanted to see what apple intelligence was but the 13 is not getting it so I won’t update. I have no problems on 17.6.1 battery. Life is great. I’m scared if I update battery, life will be horrible.
Have the option for every app to run in dark mode would be great!
