    Hoi DutchRC, Interessante video zoals de meeste van je, maar ik dacht dat je helemaal niet zo'n fan was van FrSky??? Zit zelf op dit moment erg te twijfelen tussen deze radio en de FlySky Paladin PL18. Welke zou jij aanbevelen als je moest kiezen tussen die twee types/merken? Alvast bedankt.

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  2 года назад +1

      Dank je wel EN klopt! Ik heb enkele jaren geen Frsky zender meer gehad nu, maar wilde deze nog maar weer es een kans geven :P En voor mij zou dit (als hij bevalt) ook een vervanging zijn voor de PL18..
      Grootste voordeel van de Frsky optie is de verscheidenheid aan ontvangers.. daar is frsky een stuk beter in.. EN het scherm van de PL18 is buiten niet/moeilijk bruikbaar..
      De PL18 heeft nog wel wat kleine 'dingetjes' die me tegen staan, maar geen enkele zender is perfect :)

    Thanks for this video.. I want to buy an X20 but need to move the momentary toggle switch to the other side of the radio. I see that the switches are wired and not soldered to a board and that makes things easier

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  2 года назад

      you're welcome and yes.. shouldn't be hard at all.. after that you can potentially re-define what kind of swtich is where (for instance if you place a 3-post switch in the spot of the momentairy one).. will work :)

    Hi is it possible to add a bluetooth to base x20? Also I think it was you who added a ranger elrs module from RM. Did you remove the antenna that is through the stand?

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  10 месяцев назад

      At least not in my radio.. if you look at my video's thumbnail, the BT module should be on the right, just above the Tiny daughterboard..
      Your best bet would probably getting a replacement of that bottom board (the one that spans from left-to-right, but then ofcourse from a X20S ...
      I did come across this by the way, but my version of the main-board wouldn't accept it:

    I'm about to get this radio and mainly fly heli's. Having flown Spektrum for years it's a must for me to change the left momentarily switch for a 2 position one (for a throttle hold/kill function) I'm very comfortable soldering would I be able to just change out the 2 switches (2 pos and 2pos momentary) ideally unsoldering them at the swith and leaving the cables tucked away at they are? Or will that upset Ethos.

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  Год назад

      Good question and yes if you can solder you would be able to do this. The switches are similar / the same as what you can buy from an electronics store..
      And nope, you will nmot upset Ethos. In fact if you swap out a momentairy with a 2-pos from the other side of the radio there would be nothing to change in Ethos..
      Would you swap out a 3-pos with a 2-pos you will have to change a setting in the configuration but even thhat is very simple :)

      @@DutchRC thanks for the quick answer. I guess soldering would be faster in my case (I hope lol) seems like quite some disassembly to get to the main board. I'll just swap these 2 so I settings wise I'm good

    Bought it on impulse when it was released, though I have an X9D 2019 and RadioMaster T16 I am pretty happy with. Somehow I though I wanted something a bit higher end (though this is no JETI...) for my gas planes and bigger helis. I also read everywhere that they'd also make it Crossfire compatible, a must for my quad fleet.
    While not bad, I was disappointed by the feel : the trim tabs are all cheap and wobbly, the side sliders are impossible to reach easily and while there is a new FW version every week to correct what seems an endless list of bugs, Crossfire is nowhere in sight... :( Keep it, sell it? Not sure yet...

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  2 года назад +1

      Howdy Jacques :)
      Sooo a litle backstory from this side: I ordered the X10S a couple of years back.. And a week after I had received it I found out Frsky had intentionally changed the radio so Crossfire wouldn't work (well)...
      Anyway.. I've decided to give them another shot here as we do all benefit from a good number of options in the market...
      BUT.. I can kinda guarantee you Crossfire won't happen for the X20 apart from a non specific connection... (so yep.. there kinda is some false advertising there right?)
      So far I like the radio though (I knew Crossfire was a no-go)

    • @jacquesmaries2324
      @jacquesmaries2324 2 года назад

      @@DutchRC Well, time will tell! :) Anyway, I can live without CRSF, but I am really disappointed by the ergonomics (ok, that's personal, maybe others have found a way to use the sliders without letting go of the sticks...) and the awful trim buttons rattling around that give the whole radio a very cheap feel. Or is it just mine that do that??

    • @DutchRC

    Those snap-on antenna connectors look like the same type that are on the original xd9 ( ~2014), which would get lose and cause range issues. The post 2014 xd9 simply soldered the antenna... Not as easy to change antennas but much more reliable. I lost 2 jets to this. I never removed the connector.. it just lost range on it's own. I had hoped they would abandon these for good. I know at least some of the recievers use these snap-on connectors too but at least you have 2 antenna.

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  2 года назад

      those are ufl connectors and those do indeed have their limitations.. They don't really losen up without any reason though, but if you disconnect them inpropperly Once, they will never be any good anymore after that..
      MMCX connectors would be more secure but to be frank: almost all radio's use ufl connectors
