Thanks a lot bud. Here in Canada i was quoted $3600 for just the part to get my infotainment replaced, $168 at Cue screens, another $40 on tools. Got everything fixed up. Bezel did not fit flush and has a slight gap at top. Tablet was still restarting constantly even though there was no delaminiation anymore and the SD card for Navigation turned out to be the culprit. $500 at Mazda, $48 on Amazon. Everything works like a charm. Drove 3 years without a functioning screen so once again a million thanks. Highly recommend testing SD card before you embark on this mission.
I bought one of these from Cuescreens for my 2018 Grand Touring CX-9 after Mazda refused to honor any kind of warranty and gave me all kinds of runaround. Fantastic DIY video and the installation was very simple...following the video's insights into the nuances of the install. Took me about 30 minutes and it works great! Cuescreens may be more expensive than Amazon and ebay offerings, but definitely worth it!
My friend thank you so much you are awesome. Total time 37 minutes extra step was removing the inner liner ... I'm very grateful for your tutorial on saving me some serious cash. The stealership will not prevail. Thank you again.💯💢💥
Thank you for the tutorial. Just did the screen replacement on my CX9 and it worked!! I definitely recommend giving it a try. I bought the screen for $48 on Amazon.
Thank you sooo much. This video AND your product made this easy to repair. The dealership and the additional warranties would not cover this repair. I watched the video several times before committing to this project and the only hiccup was my being able to access the back of the screen to remove it due to my big head. 😊
Thanks so much - buddy you helped me save a couple of thousand - Yes my "Stealer" quoted 2.2K for correcting this and this darn thing happened a couple of months after my vehicle ran out of warranty. Took less than 20 minutes to complete this. Two things for anyone who might find it useful. 1). I did not remove the mother board and took the LCD with the motherboard in place. 2) Touch screen did not work the first time around and so I unassembled and pushed the screen connector back in place. A recommendation thus to anyone trying this is - before you re-assemble, connect the device back to the car and test if touchscreen works before putting it all together. Would save a little bit of time and scare :-). Peace and Love.... Thanks again buddy for creating and sharing this video.
Awesome video! Thanks so much as this was exactly what I needed to find. Took me about 45 minutes because I’m no ninja at getting behind the screen while hitting the windshield. Best advice came from the comments that you don’t have to remove the motherboard from the LCD screen. You just need to remove the bottom fat ribbon and the other two small ones can stay attached to the LCD. Touchscreen worked great afterwards and everything!
LCD is glued to screen, tbh in my case it was hard to pop off only bottom right was lifting off. when i did use more force the glue lining ripped a little. it was safer with the delicate motherboard off. Once that is damaged its goodbye youtube hello mazda take my wallet please.
My 2018 had the screen replaced under warranty in 2022...but today, not even 3 years later my new screen is cracking again in the corners. It was a $2300 job when they replaced it last time, there is no way I'm paying that out of pocket so looks like I'll be going your route. Makes you really think about all these new cars loaded with "tech" and fully screened dashboards....
Great video gives me hope i can do this work on my KIA forte. I see you guys have the replacement screen for it. When will you get a video tutorial for that screen? Hoping it's just as easy. As soon as a video tutorial is out for that I'm buying the replacement.
Nice video. I wonder though the 2016-2020 cx9 sig model had a 8 inch display, until they released the upgraded 10.25 inch screen from 22-24 I believe. I’m sure the connectors are different from the models, but let’s say I wanted to upgrade to the larger screen, can this be done?
I have a 2019 cx9 base model. I believe its a 7in? The higher models have the 8in vs the 7in. Here is the part number: TK48-61-1J0. I had a local Mazda dealership verify its a 7in. Do you make a kit for the 7inch? Any information would greatly be appreciated

Why the need to take the motherboard off if it’s attached to the lcd which lifts out on its own?
The clip on the bottom at least needs to be removed from the motherboard. But you make a good point.
Thanks for this comment, it saves a step, and you only need to detach the one connector (not all 3).

Not just 2016-2018 cars - same thing happened to my 2019 cx-9 8 inch screen

Mine too, Mazda quoted thousands to repair it.
