    It's wild that this PC cooling company is coming out and releasing a sim racing product that is blowing away other products from companies that have been doing sim racing for years. I know it's not something they developed on paper, they have their own real life race team and car to use as a test subject which is huge I'm sure. But for them to come out with their first product, and also the first version of it, and it's this good? That says something.

    There goes the neighborhood...... Good to see a new to sim racing company come out and kick some a$$. Not only looks to be top notch quality but many reviews saying the best brake they have ever used, they are also crushing it on price with there early order discount. Hopefully the competition is taking notes. Cant wait to see what their wheel bases and wheels will bring to the table once released. Thank you for taking the time to provide this review.

    I've had the Asetek Invicta wheelbase for a month now and I'm in love with it! After having 3 Fanatec CSL DD getting broken after a couple of hours of gaming I decided to go "all in" and get the Invicta and it has been solid, reliable and a lot of fun! I'm still using the Fanatec CSL Elite V2 pedals and I'm thinking of upgrading to Invicta pedals at some point. Watching a lot of reviews at the moment. Thanks for the review, subscribed!

    They don’t use the DOT brake fluid for 3 reasons. 1) Simulator peddles don’t need to work at the extreme high temperatures that car brake do. 2) The additives and oil needed in brake fluid is very toxic, and carcinogenic. 3) They can get the exact same performance out of a food grade oil for a much lower price point. The brake cylinder is also fully sealed so they can be inverted if desired. Not all hydraulic systems can be inverted.

      Thanks for the info - makes sense :)

    • @lukonita
      @lukonita 2 года назад +9

      All very good points. But I will have to disagree with the ability to invert these pedals. Aren't the brake and throttle pedals static? So, if you invert them, the throttle and brake will be on the wrong side. Unless, I am missing something...

    • @Havok412
      @Havok412 2 года назад +1

      @@lukonita Yeah no there would be no way to actually invert these pedals. But based on the fact that you cant adjust the side to side in the first place and they gave the reason as to why they chose to do this, it would not make sense if they gave you the option to invert them. Race car pedals are mostly bottom mount.

    • @Simlife101
      @Simlife101 Год назад

      @Wild_Lee Coyote you sounded like someone who had knowledge then you say they can be inverted 🤣🤣 what throttle on the right and they wasn't offering them as separate pedals like they offer now. Also they can't be inverted due to the way the cylinder works you would end up with air. Your just guessing

    • @wild_lee_coyote
      @wild_lee_coyote Год назад

      @@Simlife101 Invictus said that is why they didn’t go with brake fluid. So the whole part about the oil is correct. As is the fact that it is sealed and the brake cylinder can be inverted, handy if you need to turn the brakes over to work on the underside of the pedal set. What I didn’t make clear was the fact that the pedal set is not designed to be used as an inverted break set. It probably could if you could swap the pedal and break locations, but that would require a new pedal base for them to be mounted to. As for the brake cylinder, sealed means that there is no place for the oil to leak out of, and no air in the system. That is why they can ship them already pre assembled and filled with oil. Hope this clarifies my statement a bit.

    only thing I might add is at 16:00 people are going to get confused bc you're tightening a bolt that isn't shown. it's kind of confusing if you dont have the pinout screws in hand. what was confusing for me was they aren't preinstalled so you have to find them in your pack then add them for the first time in a similar fashion to how you're tightening them.

    Quick question about the 2-stages brake system: do you feel it when you reach the second stage or does it sort of blend in with the hardest (green) rubber?
    Ive had the pedals on pre-order for a few weeks, my HE Sprints brake loads up way too easily.
    Also, big purple fan here as well. I’ll definitely order that purple lock nut add-on when I also order the socks plate 😂

    • @TheW8liftr

      Not sure what you mean exactly, but as soon as you reach the 2nd stage, there is literally no further movement at all, therefore you will definitely feel when you reach it.

    In theory with a newer version could change the position and pedal design to be able to move the mounting of the bar for the brake down, that would allow more travel on the brake but give higher leverage and reduces the maxmum brake preasure on the pedal as a compromise but for most people not even matter. They already have holes just below where it is already mounted....just have to make sure people can use them to change the character of the brake, throttle and clutch

    Dan thank you so much for your review.
    I was going to buy the VRS pedals, but I wasn't 100% convinced to make this purchase, I checked them out with a friend and they don't bring enough to the Zergyt that I own.
    After your review, I changed the brake travel from 50mm which I wasn't even aware of, haha.
    Right now I have set the brake so that I have 20mm of travel with a noticeable wall at 70% of the range.
    My times have become even more repeatable, and I've snatched another half second off my best run at Spa.
    I would be most interested in comparing the VRS with the same brake travel as the Asetek, would they still have an advantage?
    Is it possible to do this?
    The LC pedals can also be set with the same travel as the Asetek and maybe there is no point in spending so much money.
    I probably won't find out and will have to do the comparison myself.

    Hilarious that the TLCM pedals had this 2 stage brake from the factory. The red springs compressed all the way was 75% brake pressure. Had no idea that it was a good thing. I went through all kinds of mods to make it feel “better”.

    An interesting review, thank you very much. Perhaps you can comment the following questions: 1. how are your testes with the white rubber's run? 2. The stop mechanism of the pedals obviously makes noise - is that not a bit annoying? 3. I wonder about the Break Pedal - their is a distance of 2 cm, but if after this 2 cm only a pressure sensor calculates the pedal force for what do we need the 2 cm distance and the hydraulic brake cylinder? I’m really interested to hear what you have to say about this. Thank you.

      1) I left the white rubber in - felt the best to me!
      2) I race with headphones so I don't really hear it. but it's a pretty dull sound. If I drove with speakers it probably would annoy me though.
      3) Best to check the video I linked from asetek - they explain everything about the brake there :)

    This is kind of an old thread, but still interesting. First let me say that EVERY RACING CAR I have ever driven had a rock-hard pedal. Even my enduro karts. Hertz once rented Shelby GT350's. THEY found lots more accidents because people didn't press on the brake nearly strongly enough. I have just started getting my stuff for sim racing. I bought the La Prima bundle, but have gotten the Invicta brake upgrade and the Forte throttle upgrade. I will probably buy an Invicta clutch soon. I am expremely happy with all parts of the product EXCEPT the lack of easily discoverable installation directions for the upgrade kits. I guess they assume anyone buying an upgrade kit is an extremely savvy sim racer. I finslly got a listing of installation videos by writing to their CR department. Their promised DD upgrade kits are NOT (yet) available. I would love to upgrade my DD to FORTE specs, both for the greater performance AND the ON-OFF switches which come with it.

Not able to test these before you buy is a gamble. I really thought the vrs was the ones or Simtrecs. Unfortunately I am disappointed in my LTCM pedals. There is too much flex in the base and the strings are way too weak even using the firmest set AND 5 additional washers. It's hard to develop muscle memory because the pedal keeps collapsing under your foot. I am seriously looking at Asetek but haven't really got the value out of the Thrustmaster set. I may have to write it off to experience. From what I have heard there are a lot of LTCM owners looking to upgrade to Asetek.

      @@kevinblythe2192 I’ve gone back to 2 x skateboard bushings, preload spring with 3 washers and the red spring with 2 extra washers on top.
      There’s a lot less travel and once the spring is full compressed it’s about 55% brake pressure with the brake at 100% in the software, after that it’s just pressure against the loadcell.
      I can’t use them with 2 springs, they are just way too soft and have so much travel.

      This will definitly be better than the P2000. Simagic is also Chinese and would have to deal with simagic if you have any issues. The build quality on the Aseteks are miles ahead of the p2000. There are some reviews of the p2000 I suggest you look them up. There has been reported some play in the pedals as well.

    • @KaraDani
      @KaraDani 2 года назад

      @@Havok412 Thanks for the reply. RMA process might be better based on this. I've checked all the reviews I could find on the simagic one, but no big names have checked it yet. But all I could find were praising it. This asetek looks much more limited in adjustments and I don't really dig the fact that you can't adjust the distance between the pedals in this price range. Did you find anything concrete, that the simagic it's not as good? I wish Barry Rowland would make a review of both soon, he's the one I truest the most in hardware reviews for sure.

      @@KaraDani I honestly binged on trying to find a set of pedals. The P2000s were in my cart ready to buy but I did see some comments from some of the reviews say they had side to side play. Douglas Thompson did a review and in the comments someone mentioned this. He confirmed one of his pedals had side to side play and that others have mentioned that some of them can have that issue but not all. I asked in the VRS discord and some people mentioned the same thing. That risk was a deal breaker for me. I wanted something that is sturdy af.
      I only almost bought the P2000 because I couldn't wait any longer for the VRS pedals. I ended up buying the Simtrecs and then the next day my reservation for the VRS came through so I also bought those lol. The Simtrecs seem like the better pedals so far and Berry couldn't say a single bad thing about them and is still running them since he did the review.
      But at the price the Aseteks are right now for the first pre-order batch I might get those too just because I want to see what the fuss is about and I want to try a hydraulic set. You can still move the pedal face side to side so that gives you a little room for adjustment. I honestly don't think you'll need that much adjustment side to side unless you want a wide stance. Also if you plan on running them inverted the Aseteks are out of the picture since you literally cant mount them inverted. Although race cars are normally bottom mount anyways.

    • @KaraDani
      @KaraDani 2 года назад

      @@Havok412 You have some experience already it seems. A little side to side play wouldn't bother me too much to be honest. I was rocking some modded G27 pedals with longer arms and load cell for 8 years, that had some side to side play but it wasn't noticeable whilst normally driving, only when directly testing that. The clubsport v3s I'm using now doesn't have any, but I don't feel any differnece in that regard while driving. I like the looks and the more flexible adjustability options much better for sure on the p2000s. I wanted to wait more reviews as my clubsports are doing the job, no rush, but this asetek pre order deal popped in and ruined my patience :) I don't want to wait and at the end buy them for 1200. So not sure what to do now.

    • @Havok412
      @Havok412 2 года назад

      @@KaraDani The P2000s are the only other hydraulic pedals that are in that price range. On the VRS discord they also mentioned there was an issue with it leaking but that might've been address by now.
      I dont' think its such a bad idea to buy the Aseteks at the pre-order price because once they go up to the higher price, you could always sell them at the new price or easily get the money you paid for them back if you don't end up liking them. Since I like the Simtrecs more so far, I'll most likely sell the VRS and get my money back and do the same with the Aseteks.

    Hi, i bought the Asetek Pedals because i wanted to Test the 2 Stage braking System. But for me Even the Softest Black elastomere is to hard. I Need ca. 44 Bars of pressure for activating the Hard Stage. This should be 70-80kg pedelforce. Way to high for me. In the Manual it says With Black elastomere you Need ca. 20 bar pressure to reach Hard Stage. This would be a Setup That i should like. Maybe something is wrong With my Paddels ?

      Hm, I'm on the medium elastomer and need about 55 bar or so to reach the hard stage. Do you use shoes? Should be able to push the pedals harder then

      @@DanSuzuki thanks for your reply. yes i Drive With Karting Shoes. According to Manual With white elastomere it also should be only 35 Bars for Hard Stage…over 40 bar pressure With the softest elastomere is way to high for me and so i Never get into Hard Stage…

    Not all brakes in real race cars have hard brakes as some do have assisted brakes, you also have the helping of g-force when braking in a real race car. I find my leg gets a bit sore from using these bakes after a few hours of use( I do a decent amount of weight training and i don't miss leg days). I've had these for a month now and i think i would prefer a load cell with a bit more travel as i find it hard with these to finely control my braking. I honestly don't think these brakes are what they're made out to be and wouldn't be good for most people.

    Very nice review, well produced.
    They look goods, but you can't adjust the relative position of the pedals sideways. That's 1 reason I wouldn't buy those. In all the pedals I tested moving the faceplate was not enough for me .
    The electronic is not cover by a metal plate, so depending of your config you can have EMI issues.

    Hallo Dan, ich brauche und möchte mir neue Pedale kaufen. Ich habe ca. 850 bis 920 Euro Budget und möchte gerne Hydraulische Pedale haben. Ich würde auch bis 1000 Euro hoch gehen wenn es der absolute Knaller wäre was das Spektrum Hydraulische Pedale angeht. Im Fokus habe ich Simagic p1000 u. p2000 so wie Invicta und Meca evo 1 glaub heißen sie. Würde mich freuen wenn du mir einen Tipp oder eine Tendenz geben könntest was du dir bei dem Budget kaufen würdest. Danke dir schon mal für deine Empfehlung.

    • @DanSuzuki
      @DanSuzuki  22 дня назад

      Ich würde auf jeden Fall von Hydraulik abraten, ist teurer, unzuverlässiger und fühlt sich auf keinen Fall besser an als Loadcell. Von den genannten würde ich die P1000 am ehesten empfehlen!

    • @Odp76
      @Odp76 22 дня назад

      Danke für deine schnelle Rückmeldung. Ich dachte immer es geht nix über hydraulische Pedale 🙈 da es ja noch mehr am Real feeling sein soll. Und es sollte einfacher sein mit hydraulischen Pedalen am Limit zu fahren was den bremspunkt auf der Strecke angeht. Warum ? Weil dein Hirn den Druck besser speichern kann wie den Weg bei einer load cell Pedale. Aber ist wie mit vielen Sachen reine Geschmacksache.

    • @DanSuzuki
      @DanSuzuki  22 дня назад

      Tatsächlich funktioniert beides genau gleich - eine Loadcell misst nicht den Weg sondern den Druck aufs Pedal (außer Asetek Forte z.B) - die P1000 mit Hydraulikmodul verwenden zB keinen Druckmesser in der Hydraulik sondern auch ne Loadcell. Einfach mal beides ausprobieren - ist sehr sehr ähnlich 😊

    I do not like these. Its another over hyped product but just shows we are all different. It needs to be a little softer for trail braking. It needs to be smoothen as the faces are to jagged with metal. Even the base plate is. Not comfortable for anybody not using racing shoes. Just to many flaws reviewers forget to mention when it comes to something quality all of these areas should be thought about.
    I get heavy but these are uncomfortable to use even when comparing to the most advanced pedal sets. I would take p1000s and elite v2s over this anyday and love every minute of it. Just shows how different we all are with peeference.
    The travel also is so little that if you back off on sensitivity then again trail braking is even harder. Not enough room to even get very consistent as it will then be jumpy.
    But new products at this level always get kver hyped. Finslly many are coming out saying the same as me. Just like simucubes active pedals way way over hyped!
    We still need our more basic pedals that just work. We need quality pedals with tons of pressure options and travel options.
    I dont even want alot of travel just 3 inches. Also if you go watch a race car pedlas no the travel isnt 1 inch. Its around 3 to 4 inches. Anybody whos sat in race or track cars know this. They do move a bit so i feel like its just marketing for asetek. The two stage yes thats in some but most racers like 1 stage!

    I do track day in a real car so that brake pedal would not work for me. At this price it should be adjustable to get more travel. Disappointing.

  • @tilus75
    @tilus75 Год назад

    Not impressed. You basically pushing a brick wall at threshold braking and it has no travel to modulate the first 10/15%, and it has chees grader pedal faces.
    Nice engineering but way too many limitations and adjustability options.

    I really dont know where this idea that all race cars have like zero brake pedal travel. because its totally untrue....there is endless pedal cam video you can look up out there. a GT3 car has up to 4 inches of travel is many cars. obviously the teams can set their stuff up differently to suite their drivers but a vast majority have like 5 times the amount of travel that pedal set has... its so funny because all my friends seem to think the same thing and when I try their sim rigs it honestly is impossible to feel whats going on with the brake pedal compared to my setup that I set up to mimic the real thing in a gt3 car.
