The Rock admitted to having a bad temper when he was younger. I don't know if it was when he was a little kid but when he was a teenager he definitely had a bad temper, he was angry and frustrated kid growing up. He admits to all this in past interviews and his book.

Tony was still upset that Rocky Johnson said Tony Atlas used to go off and wanted to blow up and fight anytime anyone said anything to him. The Rock grew up, if you're holding something against that he's done or said in his teenage years then you should grow up to. He's not out here verabally abusing or phrysically beating people up. Atlas' timeline is a bit off. Dwayne Johnson was not in college in the mid 80's. I actually met Rocky Johnson and his then 15-year old son, Dwayne ( who was already about 6'2"), at an independent show in 1988 in Allentown, PA which was promoted by Afa Anoa'i (The "Wild" Samoan). Rocky teamed with Afa against Doug Somers & Buddy Rose. The main event was the Midnight Rockers (just before going back to the WWF) against the Nasty Boys who were the hometown favorites. Great times being a wrestling fan in the 80's.

Rocky Johnson kids and family did not invite Tony to the funeral according to Tony. Either that, or he lied and just didn't want to pay money to fly out and attend. Never heard of an invitation to attend a funeral especially when wrestlers are close-knit. Rock thanked everyone who came out to pay their final respects. Tony never really had anything nice to say about Rocky..just remember, it's 3 sides to every story.

They won the titles in 83* and lost them in 84. Rocky was in the best shape of his life then and once 85 rolled around that's when Rocky would wrestle his last match with the company the same year of WrestleMania 1 in which Rocky didn't attend. According to Atlas Rocky had some words for Vince and said he wasn't going to let him turn him into a jobber like such and such. After that, Rocky was never brought back sadly. Atlas says Young Rock was in college, that isn't true at all. Young Rock was a 14 year old kid and his family lost everything. Couldn't even pay even pay their rent and had to leave Hawaii. Rocky was one of the many wrestlers who messed up his money. According to his sons book he had a drinking and gambling problem. He was not apart of WrestleMania 1-12 the first time Rocky returned was at wrestlemania 13 when his son had his first WrestleMania. He missed the whole Hulkamania era. Most the crowd didn't even know who he was. I saw a video of him in 88 wrestling in territory wrestling and he did not look like the same Rocky Johnson from 84. It looked like a lot had happened to him in those 4 years. It's a documentary here on youtube called Milton Mcbride Rosen story, The Rock's Rock. Milton, a disable kid with down syndrome was the kid that helped Rocky put down the bottle and stop drinking because he cried for him. They knew he had a problem. They lived with the Mcbride's. His life had fell apart and he didn't want to work a regular job because he felt like he was a superstar. The Rock was playing high school football around this time. I saw a fan once tweet in Rock's defense to a fan assuming The Rock had a rich life because his dad was a wrestler that Rocky Johnson wasn't driving in no fancy cars or living in no big houses, instead he was shoveling people's drive ways. Rocky last job I believe was working at a boys and girls club. Once his son made it big in wrestling and hollywood, then Rocky Johnson was set for life.
