I wonder what Andre, Shiek, Macho Man and the Wild Samoans reaction would be the first time they hear Dewey wants to become a wrestler
Andre was already died by then in 1993. Johnson joined the CFL in 1995
@@therainmakerinsider ooh
You can't deny Shiek, Wild Samoans, Rocky Johnson, Pat Patterson, Mark Henry, and various other close family-wrestling-friends made him THEE… MOST electrifying man in sports entertainment today!
Andre died in the late 80s
@@brogoram He passed away in 1993.
This is the Moment of Rocks life I’ve been waiting for
This means nothing to non-Canadians, but what a kick it is to see Wally Buono being represented in a TV show.
Not the guy you'd expect eh lol
As an American cfl fan I thought it was cool
Canada? You mean Mexico North 😅
@@War-child_That’s New Mexico
Canada means nothing to the outside world
Half of Americans think Canada is part of America 😂😂
Even you’re Canadian you need to move to America to be successful and famous
Every Canadian player , artist, singer , wrestler you name it
They eventually move to the USA to be successful and famous
'I'm getting my slapping gloves.' 😄😁😆😅
Funny to think the actor playing Dwayne is a lot older than the guy playing Rocky Johnson
🤫 🤫 lol
Yep
Wow
This usually happens on parent actors playing their elder versions of their roles, like Mandy Moore in This Is Us being younger than the actors of ''her future children'' while playing their older mother as well.
Btw, Dwayne's actor is 10 years older than Rocky's actor!
The dad actor is 29, Dwayne's actor is 38, he's only a few years younger than the actress who plays the mom
I don't see celebrities as idols but I do respect the rock. I love his charity work and giving back in general he seems like a really good dude alot of people better be lucky he's a nice guy.
Charity.....bro come on.....they give to charity to reduce their taxes.....it's set up to make them look good. The net is just savings because the charity cut on their money is so much more significant than the money they give to charity.
@@begintothinkyou morons can never be pleased.
Hes hated by the samoan community based on the amount of real estate hes owned, taking homes from native lands, and backing up oprah after the controversy during the fire massacre
So glad to be a part of this Young Rock Season 2. Take care everyone and always be safe. 😊.
Can't wait for season 3.
Glad he got trained in both family styles
"Slapping gloves"
Lol
I do like how his dad is actually more upset that Rock didn't take up the chance to play Football.
that moment changed everything. thank God he chose wrestling! imagine if he went the other route with football
He still probably would have tried wrestling eventually. I lot of guys think they can get bk to the NFL by playing in Canada, but some guy are realists and see they're not good enough.
It happens in most sports. You have Prodigies who don't live up to expectations, but instead of having a decent career at a lower level, they give up completely.
@@WorldCupWillie I guess the question is, how long the Rock's CFL career would be, and how different it would be if he had started his wrestling journey X number of years later, given how he would be different and the industry would be different when he enters it.
Dewey did make it and became the most electrifying man in sports and entertainment. Later became the biggest actor in the world!
“I can’t wait to hear that story” 😉 lol
Actually Dwayne wasn't The Rock when he started wrestling, he went to Memphis in a small wrestling federation after he had a couple of tryouts for the WWF because they said he was too green. Rock wrestled as Flex Kavana in the smaller leagues, but the WWF decided to debut him as Rocky Maivia, and he had a gimmick that completely sucked despite being pushed as a babyface. The WWF decided to turn him heel and put him in The Nation, and that was when he became The Rock.
1:39 proud father there 💯
More like worried and concerned father. I can understand Rocky's feelings there, pro wrestling's not an easy business to thrive in, Rocky himself had more than his share of bad experiences (though more than a few were of his own making), no father would want to see their child go through that.
@@FerretJohnand also wrestling wasn't what it was now, there's no wwe that is a global entertainment juggernaut. Back then wrestling was a territorial circus act and even if in this show Vince already took over the wwf, they are still nowhere near what it is today and Hogan was not making it as a cross promotional entertainer.Only when Rock and Austin did it, that it became what it is
They never realize this is actually the day the rock meant he is going to be a hollywood superstar
That wasn't until after Rock got famous from wrestling, this is when he never even had a match yet, and nobody knew who he was at this time.
@@jerelminter dude...dont tell me u explaining the timeline of this scene to me.... reallyy?? lol
Ata's actual line was a whole lot deeper in Rock's 2004 interview when Rocky actually disproved of his son, she calmed them down and told Rock to go for it, her line was "this is something that you know, a language you speak of, this is in your blood"
"what u think u have to offer"
"You don't need flash just have foundation no flash!"
The Rock:😉🤔🤨🤨🧐
The family dynamics are perfect and make too much sense
His rise to fame and power started here and now
I remember reading the Rock's book way back in 99, I remember him saying he hated playing Canadian football.
Because he was never good at football to begin with. In Doug Flutie's autobiography, Flutie bought s a satellite TV for the boys to watch between practices he mentions a certain young player in Calgary Stampeder training camp who showed no commitment as he constantly had rasslin on the TV. Guess who that was?
@@davidbuswa9425Scotty 2 Hotty... Nailed it.
2:07 oh how right she was😁 not only did Dwayne make it, but he only became one of the biggest stars and draws of all time
This is a lesson. I think I needed to see this, go for your dreams and work hard to achieve them.
The Rock's father made it hard to see if there was any conviction in his son. The whole family loved wrestling and Rocky Johnson didn't want to see his son just "play" at being a wrestler. First he said "no" to Dewey, then he made him go through hell learning how to sell THE OTHER WRESTLR'S move.
@@anastasiosgkotzamanis5277 Thanks interesting. Haven't watched the whole show yet.
He really look like young rock
Congrats on the crew for Season 3 renewal! Things are gonna get more interesting
Dewey's mom is gorgeous
High Chief Peter Maivia: You better be looking
Season 2 as a whole was great. But I think I speak for everyone when I say the flashbacks of his early wrestling career are so much fun. For younger fans who never saw him wrestle, but especially for someone like me who remembered his debut at Survivor Series 96.
To me this show should be mandatory for anyone beginning in the business. When he has Pat Patterson come watch him and all he can do is sell his pain that his father taught. Which he also used in his first ever match to get the crowd behind him. The episode simply titled Corpus Christi where he meets so many of the guys who along with him would change the business was absolutely surreal. Hearing Austin say, I think I'm gonna get fired because of the character he had. His first interaction with Triple H shows how both of them recognized that they were gonna be connected for years to come.
But it was also sad having to relive the utter hate the crowd had for him. And look I will be honest enough to admit I wasn't a fan of Rocky Maivia. But the saddest part and I had totally forgotten this because I have only seen WM 13 once. Yes I've gone back and rewatched Austin/Hart countless times But the show as a whole only once. The saddest part was at WM 13 when his dad came out and saved him in an attempt to get a positive crowd reaction. And it made it even worse. Imagine being a young Rock and hearing that your dad is gonna finally get his Wrestlemania moment. You have to be absolutely thrilled that 1) you get to compete at WM but 2) you get to give your dad the moment he never had. And to hear the crowd just boo him. That had to be one of the most disheartening moments of your life.
But I can't wait til season 3. The show as a whole is fun. And I said this in a previous post. But I can't wait to hear The Rock not disparage Vince. But comment in the fact that the business was changing as a whole and it took Vince awhile to adjust to it.
My favorite rock's wrestling match is the match vs evil hulk hogan in wm (i forgot is it X or XI)
How many episodes are there?
He fulfilled his destiny and then some !
Never realized Andre was close to the Anoai family.
Slapping gloves hahaha love this grandma
This when everything changes
"I'm getting my slapping glove" 😂😂
Too bad they didn't show his dad saying "you're throwing it all away. It is the worse mistake you'll ever make. You'll ruin your career."
That’s cause he knew how hard it is in wrestling business.
Afa and Sika should’ve trained the Rock
I was looking forward to the grandma kicking some butt.
When I start watching young Rock season 3 hell I didn't even know it was a season 1 an 2. This is when wrestling was at the top of the game you had the Rock and Stone Cold connection. They changed wrestling like no one have since I mean you waited to hear the glass break or to hear if you smell and a crowd go crazy this was the best years of wrestling. Now NWO did there things too and Degeneration X, Undertaker, Edge and Christian, Shawn Michael, the Hart Brothers, Ken Shamrock, The Hardy Boys, and Goldberg
Great show great story
Whats the show called
@@harveyturner130 young rock
i think this is god way to comunicate with me stick to wrestling even im living in indonesia
I always like to imagine if Rocky hadn't said yes to training him Lia is getting deported again for slapping him to death.
Who tf is this actor.
He looks just like the Rock
Wow our Rock 💪
Why did they block all of the performances of ASC?
That’s a great times of Rock.
Because wrestling is in his blood.
What is Hikaru Nakamura doing here with Rock?
He was much taller back then… towering over hogan, godfather, and all the other wrestlers!!
Why does he look the same age as his dad lol great casting.
Slapping gloves lmao.
"Chose" Wrestling over Football. Dude it was over. Life chose for him.
I could be wrong but it seems a bit out of character for Rocky Sr. to have any doubts about training his son. You would think he would be proud that his son wants to follow in his footsteps and become a professional wrestler. I do not know... maybe he was just being a concerned parent.
If you watched this episode, he'll explain to Ata why he said no at first.
I read The Rock’s book years ago and he said Rocky disapproved
@@ultimatebilly4953 I read the rocks book as well and the words that came out of rocky johnsons words are the same words that were spoken in the rocks book.
Rocky explained why…he was afraid that he’ll end up with nothing like he did after 30 years in the business and didn’t want him to go through what he did
Dwayne never becoming a wrestler would’ve been insane
This looks hilarious 😂 😂
It's actually a really entertaining show, binge watched it and I usually don't do that with new shows
Is this show on Netflix??? How do I watch??
You know as him as the college version of the rock…but I know him as cool Chris from Jonah from Tonga
Ahaha n getting my slapping gloves she was a real one
“Hang on son, I have to go collect some sexual assault allegations” rocky johnson
Cane Dewey!
best show on t.v
should of had atleast one more season of this show before it was taken off
I bet if that was a NFL team calling he wouldn’t turn nothing down. He would have been on the first flight out of there.
What's the name of this program
Young Rock
Realized I need a pair of slapping gloves
I realized this is the dude from Jonah From Tonga Kool Kris
Dad was hot
Mom was happy
Why there a 2019 AC unit in background ha
Rocky let him have it!!!
This show never showed all the rocks half brothers and sisters. Acted like his dad was a good man
All were born before he married his first wife and while him and his first wife were split up.
Rip Romans Father
Im so thankful to God for the Rock I believe Rock can beat Roman n all 3 of thee Usos Believe Thattrt!!!
He chose fake over real
🤣🤣🤣
Good show
Wow
He was so cholocatey, now he's much lighter. How does that happen? Same with Mario Lopez. He was so brown when younger, and he got lighter.
Who is dewey

Too much breakfast...and work
Noooooooo
I this a comedy, real show?
It's a comedy based on real life events of his life.

Nice
Show’s good but they should have gotten Ken Jeong instead of randall guy, he’s a corny bad actor, overdoes things
I want watch this show but hate how rock promoted biden and democrats
Yall trump supporters are really sick. I see comment like this on every video lol. Like who gives a fck. Yall are sick ppl I swear
He wants to get into politics and that is the side he chooses to ride with...
This show absolutely sucks
Dumb show
Why did you watch this video then?
@@darthnowlan I didn't, I just commented... Unfortunately I was in a trolling mood for Dwayne Johnson's comments about Joe Rogan :( I take it back. It probably is pretty good. I love that era of wrestling & grew up on it. I might give it a chance. Hopefully the Rock comes back to earth after that whole Black Adam debacle from his ego and head being in the clouds. I miss the old Rock. I think Holly weird might've taken hold....
Look at what he became one of the biggest WWE goats in the business.
Probably a bunch of over dramatic BS.
the show got cancelled....i had a feeling it would i think young sheldon is still running
