Adam, your delivery is stand up quality dry. Its 4.30 am and laughs don’t come easy but ‘……….and Bristol City’s probably got to win at home’ cracked me up.
I had 2 of them. Great footage and battery life but when it rained it let in water and ruined the device. They offered me a third one but by that stage my head was fried. Another annoyance was it would turn off midway through a ride. I hope you have better luck lad.
Even on warmer days with the light off mine never got to 5 hours. 4-4.5 with no light and 3.5-4 with the light flashing, depending on the temperature. I do still like it, but it's not great for long rides. Got mine last August and battery hasn't noticeably dropped off yet, other than it suffering a bit in the cold. The Fly 12 that allegedly lasts up to 8 hours can be killed in little over 3 hours if you have the light on full and the image stabilisation turned on. With more conservative settings it goes for longer though.
I've got the updated Gen 1 and it's been great for battery life and still is, although the 720 recording means car registration plates are occasionally unreadable. I was thinking of upgrading to the latest version but was put off by the lower battery life and problems with water ingress.
My wife and I both had Fly 6ce’s, both failed after about 18 months of use with the same sort of issue which Cycliq don’t repair, I used to get 4 hours approx from them but quality of vids was great. Cycliq offered discount on new but if rather they could be repaired tbh, I replaced them with Chili Tech rear cam/light which give the same quality vid at half the price, basically similar performance and after 2 years of use batteries getting a bit of a shorter life on these ones and they aren’t replaceable but I may try
I have the same Fly 6 Gen 3 after having the Gen 2 for a while and like them, although I tend to use them without the light too so I can squeeze out a little more battery life. What sort of cable were you using the plug into it though? It seemed to have a long, flat plug? Also maybe a Pass Pixi sign would be a good addition? They're pretty good for showing people behind that you're running a camera and if it can avoid the close-pass it's better, IMO.
I hate usb charged lights. So I got myself AAA run lights and I can ride for many many hours without being worried about running out of light and get stuck in the dark. I got rechargeable AAA batteries and carry with me.
I guess it would help your heirs if the worst happened. I suppose it could help you film your vlog. As always, refrain from vegan jerky, you can't be sure what's in it. It can't be good!
So you can piggy back it with a power bank fine ? Has it got a looping mode?...how much footage can it record / sd and GB size? You still have that little cube camera you used that time ?
yeah it worked plugged in fine, yes looping mode and a button to lock the footage. Card it comes with isnt big, 32G or something, each 5 min clip is 800mb. Cube is on the shelf somewhere, the gopro blows the quality out the water

thanks Mr Alford much appreciated. FYI on 9th Feb City won at home to Reading. The light seems to only do 2.5hrs with light on :(

🙂👌🏻😉
I have a rear USB light that can run from a battery bank & never had a problem of running out of battery
Just don’t use it in the rain! Fundamental flaw in the design with the flap on top.

It would be better if things come without a battery & run a cable into a larger powerbank
The camera only lasts 2 hours
Yeah the level of light I use changes battery life from 2.5hrs to 4 max
Sorry Adam, but now all your loyal viewers are at risk of gout as you failed to tell us to watch out for it......
Thanks for the reminder Chris. I hadn't been looking out for gout since being let down by Adam.
thanks for looking out for eachother guuys
