One reason I like my M2 is I like the looks when I take it out of the bag and when I set up to hit.

Would you keep an average of your numbers to compare against, so we can see how that particular drivers performed against your own preferred numbers. I’m about a 8 handicap. got fitted for the first time for a driver 5 days ago. I had been using a rocketball stage 1 driver for 5 years. I was hitting the ball around 245 on average. I hit a natural baby draw & rarely miss fairways, but felt like my driver was getting to old, worn out, & I wasn’t getting the yardage I should be. I used the sim max with a stiff flex shaft during the fitting & started carrying the ball 248 & rolling to 270. I instantly gained 30-35 yards. Didn’t miss 1 fairway in 15 shots. They ended up selling me a brand new Sim Max driver with a 6.5 weighted stiff flex driver. My average swing speed was 99 mph. Iv only got to use the driver for 2 round so far, but it feels great when you actually hit it on the course. You can’t slow your swing down to try & baby a ball down the middle. This driver is best when you swing like you want to hit it far.
I would really like to see a video on the new SIM Rescue. I have been thinking about a two driving iron and this might be a better choice. SIM Rescue please.
Right the sole... this new all singing dancing sole reduces drag.. surely simply having it there increases drag. Now take it away & that really will reduce drag...clean rounded sole will have less drag than a sole with a lump sticking out it. It's all TM marketing but we fall for it every time. Keep up the great content James..
Why are you using an 60X flex with an average 106.2 swing speed? I use a 60X flex on my driver, too. I used to swing it at around 112-115, but as I have gotten older my swing speed has come down. My misses were left mostly. I used my buddy's Titleist with a 60 stiff and kept it in the fairway and was murdering it. Is there a swing speed rule of thumb to go from stiff to X-flex?
James weaken the right hand grip until it just feels slightly uncomfortable, then swing the club. If the right hand grip feels good, then it's not good at all. Just saying, from decades of going left experience that was fixed by a slightly weak right hand grip. Love the video, thanks.
Went to a fitting yesterday and landed on the SIM Max over the SIM. To me the SIM Max had a hotter feeling over a broader area of the face...it just felt better to me. Both are gorgeous and both were similar in terms of distance. Not since the R11 Has TM made a better looking driver IMO.
I paid 180 squid for a brand new mizuno gt180 about six months ago......don't believe this driver would be any different.....prices of drivers nowadays have gone off the charts imo.
Hi James. That thing you do where you cut between close and far in the same sentence is really cool👌. But maybe consider getting a microphone that you attach to your shirt so that it doesn’t switch between muffled sound in the distance and crisp close to the camera. It gets a bit distracting after a while. Just a suggestion. Loving the content otherwise 😊
I think the only downside to the new SIM driver is the allen screw on the back of the inertia generator (nit picky, sorry). What’s the screw for?I think Corbra nailed that look better. As for performance, the SIM Max is going in my bag for sure over the Cobra Speedzone. James can we do a test on Speedzone Max vs. SIM Max?

I purchased the TM M4 driver last year and it is a lovely club with no frills, not unlike the RBZ, my previous driver. I bought the M4 partly because it is no longer the current model, hence a bargain at £150 new. If, I buy the Sim, it will probably be in a couple of years when it is an affordable price. Maybe now we are in a recession club manufacturers will not be so keen on bringing out a new model every year?
just saying... i know how frustrating the bad left shots are (my miss as well). every ball is left of center if that were more centralized (1/2 to the left, 1/2 half to the right) the "miss" left wouldnt get you in too much trouble. very very straight ball flight. ty great review - i'm going to get fit for the Sim Max

Another very well done review from my favorite RUclipsr! The look of this driver is already starting to grow on me. Strange isn't it, how you can hate something initially and then bit by bit...it creeps up on you! Looking forward to the comparison with the M6!
The top looks like it’s going back to its M2 roots. Thumbs up. The bottom reminds me of the old SLDR, except the SLDR didn’t have a tortoise head sticking out of its arse.
These new clubs are pretty much out of the range of the typical golfer. Just too much $$$ to spend for so little improvement. Money better spent on lessons. Your results aren't much better than what you already have. Or had. The issue is does it give you more confidence to find the fairway? That would be my goal for sure. Carry on James.
To be honest it really looks like a M6 Driver with a new paint scheme. I really like my M4 D-Type Driver and will be sticking with it for now. It's kinda insane to buy a new Driver every season. Just one mans opinion...

Hi James, can't help but think if it was yellow it would be called the TM F9? . TM say it gives .7 to 1.5 mph over 2019 models ....going to difficult to measure that I would imagine?
Sticking with my Epic Flash. Drivers are like desktop PC’s and TV’s. Five year upgrade cycle. Not enough performance improvement year on year to justify the expense.
Nice, If I were to go Taylor I would go M2.Otherwise the TS2 really speaks to me. Also considering the Epic, ST 180, or even the F9.... Cant afford a fitting yet though.... My clubs are old but still playable. I would need lots more consistency and ability to make shots. Distance is cool too but not the main thing. Control to me is where it is at!
Will stick with my Taylormade, um, Burner 2.0. Unless the local comes through with that credit they said they'd give me...that plus the 20% deal right now, means I would jump into a SIM
I ordered the sim max..love the look..unfortunately it's not as far or fast as my TC3..Even put the same shaft on both( hazardous yellow)..I was hoping for better

These drivers do look very good on video and I’m looking forward to seeing one in person, spin numbers were very good as well Hopefully I will get to try some this season but I did spend a lot at the end of last year so i might be pushing my luck 😂😂
I have the M5 so I probably won't need a new driver for 4 years at least. There is just not enough improvement now and I can't see how they will improve much further from their current position.
As per Jeremy Stafford's comment, you were talking about club head speed and I am wondering if you took all the top shelf driver heads from the different manufacturers and same shafted them a comparison video....would the drag reduction streamlining etc etc be all that different? All in all I agree if it sounds awesome and looks good a golfer with decent skill will hit it better. Sim bottom is a lot like the Cobra F9 but angled..no?
James, why don’t the big companies stay loyal too there customers a bring out a new driver every two/three years so everyone who buys a new driver gets some value for there money? Cobra have just released a new driver not long after the F9 Titleist brought out the 1&4 in the speed range not long after bringing out the 2&3 and so on Taylormade and Callaway have done the same and let’s face Most golfers buy a driver on distance they will gain not necessarily dispersion although that is important we know that. If the drivers are at there COR limit how can they go further apart from taking weight away from the head? Personally I’d like too see some real gains in buying a driver and if you change too gain 1 or 2 yards then definitely there is something wrong in my opinion. Just a thought James and we’ll not even mention the price of these clubs, the numbers suggest golf is dying off in numbers and there are many reasons why but surely this doesn’t help the sport we love.
Like to see SIM Rescue, vs UDI two iron vs regular two iron. I keep an old school 3 iron in my bag to punch out low under trees and for a “Stinger”. I know I need to replace that three iron, but with what?

Amazing the fuss when Odyssey make a Spider clone we have a real fuss but TM go and nick the Speed slot from the Cobra driver and nobody mentions anything. I prefer the look of the M5 and have just bought one for about half price.
How are you getting along with the scotty cameron? I putted for 2 hours last night with my spider and my scotty gotta say the spider is ridiculously more forgiving.

I'd love to watch a video of you hitting a 20 year old driver, vs, the sim. To say there are no improvements is preposterous. And if you truelly believe that, your game is suffering.
Unless you are one of those people who ‘need’ the latest driver, I would suggest that you hold on to what you have. These figures of yours are no different to what you normally get and I would think it’ll be pretty much the same for everyone.
Give us a more realistic test of the Sim max against the M4, it’s more likely that someone will upgrade from an M4 to the Sim Max than someone who’s just spent 500 on an M6 mid last year
I must be getting radical in my old age, distance advantages over older models, zero. Forgiveness and dispersion improvements, zero. Am I missing something? I don’t mean to be totally negative but have manufacturers reached a point where gains and improvements are going to be measured now in inches ?
Not seen any reviewer hit it right yet, unless it was a block after a big left shot. Even you supposed high right shot went left slightly. If I were TM, I’d be starting to panic, especially with that sole.
I came to this video because am very close to buying this buy at the moment have been terribly slicing my drives...So I don't think this is going to be forgiving enough to help me witch is sad😫
iPhones don’t change much when the launch a new phone as technology has gone as far as it can at the moment. I fell drivers have reached the same position.

Your left palm points to the sky while your right palm is more on target- I guess with that set up your feel is that you have to rotate your body more aggressively to hit it straight like Paul Azinger.

Eli Barkley I didn’t go with a stock option. I have a Ventus Black and Tensei Pro Orange so I rotate between those two until I get in a groove with one of them
Eli Barkley I was open to trying a new shaft (upgrade not a stock one) But my fujikura 2.0 tour spec 7s still worked as good as the other upgrade options I had. I don’t ever use the stock options.
I'm not sure if I like the look or can't stand it...... Aside from that, I still think Twist Face is a gimmick. I'll probably buy one regardless just because I like to buy clubs.

James I am not a pro, but may I make a suggestion. Take a video of swing, and break your swing. To see what you need to do to fix your swing.

The bottom of the driver looks like you can adjust the weight, but their isn’t anything adjustable on the drive except the loft. Right ?

Unless you are one of those people who ‘need’ the latest driver, I would suggest that you hold on to what you have. These figures of yours are no different to what you normally get and I would think it’ll be pretty much the same for everyone.
Give us a more realistic test of the Sim max against the M4, it’s more likely that someone will upgrade from an M4 to the Sim Max than someone who’s just spent 500 on an M6 mid last year
I must be getting radical in my old age, distance advantages over older models, zero. Forgiveness and dispersion improvements, zero. Am I missing something? I don’t mean to be totally negative but have manufacturers reached a point where gains and improvements are going to be measured now in inches ?
Not seen any reviewer hit it right yet, unless it was a block after a big left shot. Even you supposed high right shot went left slightly. If I were TM, I’d be starting to panic, especially with that sole.

@@JamesRobinsonGolf as Greg Norman said- he was not too worried about the grip unless the palms got way out of parallel. Your left palm points to the sky while your right palm is more on target- I guess with that set up your feel is that you have to rotate your body more aggressively to hit it straight like Paul Azinger.

Ernesto Lupercio same! Loved my m5 and was so hard to let it go... I tried every way to make the SIM win out for me, but SIM Max performed better for me every time
I have played the same drivers the past 2 years, m3 and m5. both I loved. hit the sim max yesterday and might go get fitted for it. curious what shaft you were seeing better results with in the sim max? ventus, diamana?
Eli Barkley I didn’t go with a stock option. I have a Ventus Black and Tensei Pro Orange so I rotate between those two until I get in a groove with one of them
Eli Barkley I was open to trying a new shaft (upgrade not a stock one) But my fujikura 2.0 tour spec 7s still worked as good as the other upgrade options I had. I don’t ever use the stock options.
I'm not sure if I like the look or can't stand it...... Aside from that, I still think Twist Face is a gimmick. I'll probably buy one regardless just because I like to buy clubs.
