Great video and content. I bought the sim with 9°. The spin number I was getting were very low. I upped the loft to 10.5° and now spin is increased. It suits me, still goes literally miles and is accurate.
Wow. Of the RUclips reviewers doing the SIM, you’ve absolutely smashed it compared to them with numbers. It’s crazy how different drivers perform so much differently with different golfers. Another reason why it’s important to get fitted!
Alex Rosado I know it’s crazy. But I think most of it comes down to the golfer just being comfortable with the club. Being comfortable creates a more confident swing which usually leads to better ball strikes. Unless it’s just that dreaded day where nothing is going help.
Alex Rosado Tour experience golf needs to be everyone’s stop on here when wanting the most accurate and scientific approach looking at anything golf. Give them a whirl, they wont disappoint
I liked watching your reviews because you would use the shaft that came with the club, and we do know the shaft is important. But now you are pulling a RS and changing shafts to fit you. I think it is important to see how the shaft reacts with the head because many of us do have to buy off the rack and this will give us a better idea how the club performs. thanks jt Still like your reviews, but talk more about the head, shaft relationship!
I have a 2.5 year old M3 that recently had some manufacturing problems. I messaged taylormade expecting them to say I was SOL. They messaged me last night saying they are sending me the SIM. I will be taylormade for life going forward. I think i paid $350 for my M3 on sale and they're sending me their $550 flagship club without a question. Im pretty pumped to take this to Ridgeway, CO in about 8 weeks and see how far it can hit. I usually hit around 275-280 in MO, but can get it as far as about 315 on a flat hole with no wind. In CO I typically hit about 315-320, but have hit as far as 380 on a flat hole. If you've ever contemplated going to CO in high elevation to golf go do it. Your score will be horrible because your judgment will be way off, but its so fun to hit a 9 iron 170 yards!
Hi Michael just ordered Sim max driver fairway wood and hybrid which i will be getting in the Diamana shaft for driver and fairway wood and ventos blue for hybrid. They were all very accurate for a 19 hcapper. Thank you for the review
Hi Louis, just a quick spoiler alert TM don't use the full spec After Market shafts in their drivers so the Ventus shaft that they are using does not have the high-density graphite that is used in the Ventus After Market shaft.
@@adamboyle3331 TM are not using the full spec After Market Ventus shaft they are fitting a reduced spec OEM version that doesn't contain the hi-modus graphite that is used in the After Market shaft.
Why the hell have you only got 27k subs.?? I've been a regular viewer for the last couple of years and you are by far the best reviewer of equipment on the tube. I'm baffled Mike :s
I like how they went back to the white black crown on top. Definitely will be trading in for this one! Damn you taylormade how do you do it every year!! Haha
Im a low single figure golfer, avg 6 iron 190y. I couldn't get *either* SIM model to spin over 1400-1600 with 155mph ball speed. My launch angle was avg 14.8° with the 9° head so I couldn't go up in loft. Unfortunate. Loved the look and feel of the club. I wanted it, but the TS3 stays.
I prefer classic looking clubs from the top, keep it simple and muted don't distract. Not a fan of the two tone TM look to begin with, but now they go and add writing (SIM) visible from the top. Ick. Why not just write FORE on the crown to remind most hacks what they should be saying after swinging? :D
WOW Mr Newton you were hammering those drives I'm mightily impressed! Obviously, a Christmas diet of Mince Pies and Christmas Pudding does wonders for your clubhead speed lol
Realizing they are probably made for irons, have you thought about sticking those little rubber training bits to the club face to improve some of your slight mis-his?
Cobra F9 and SLDR combo ! Weight low and back like the F9 and moving weight near face like the SLDR. You should’ve deleted that short 253 yd. shot with standard SIM and 1 outlier with the MAX

@@MichaelNewtonGolf 😄 your shock and awe at the results out of the gate 2020. I know your spin numbers and these are amazing, and with a stiff shaft?! Well you reacted accordingly = lol
Waiting on the Gloire review. Seems to be TM’s big boy this year. 10 years of TM drivers in my bag and not a one ever did what yours did in this video. Looks so damn effortless!
Comes standard with a Ventus shaft?! That really changed things a lot, that’s a $350 shaft. Might seal the deal for a lot of people. I wasn’t interested at first but with a Ventus I might be.
Welcome back to the NY Mike. Would love you to compare SIM to the M5 to see if it has indeed created a genuine increase in your club head speed & distance. Cheers
Stock shaft for each head might be different, but the length is the exact same at 45.75". I think you said the MAX has a longer shaft, which is incorrect.
What is TM trying to accomplish using that Ventus shaft in the SIM Max? What do you think the difference in your drives would have been if you used it instead of the Hazardous Smoke (spin, distance ball/clubhead speed, etc.)? Great video and thanks!! It looks like TM has a solid product here.
are those range ball ? because tbh 164 mph ball speed for 118mph chs, that would be mean that you are hitting everywhere except in the the middle, seems like you are hitting way up on the club face, maybe you should tee lower to catch the center...

No driver is going to reduce spin in a drastic way if there is a swing mechanic causing higher spin. Your strike is always going to rule in moving spin numbers. Chances are you strike is low in the head.
Yeah its totally killing the Ventus as a premium brand.. Clad they removed the Velocore logo from the bottom of the shaft so at least one can tell them apart if they know what to look for..
Slicers should have lessons and sort out their club to path relationship, not buy draw bias drivers in my opinion. The SIM driver looks like a F9/SZ but £100 more expensive, to my eyes

🤪
Will this be 2020 longest driver?
Possibly
I wonder if maybe it's giving an inaccurate club head speed cause if that's 118 for real ball speed should be more like 170
How do you get to that conclusion?
@@MichaelNewtonGolf your smash factor was kind of low and Matt blois from txg was hitting it at around the same swing speed and had ball speed at 170
